Agile Capitalization For Greater Business ValueCA Technologies
With disruptive technology advances, software assets play an increasingly important role in creating a competitive advantage. It’s time for organizations to recognize and manage business software as a strategic corporate asset.
To keep up with the speed of business, companies turn to agile practices to deliver better customer value faster.
Challenge: agile software development is too often misunderstood and misreported, impacting taxation, higher volatility in Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, and dramatic, unnecessary staff cuts in an economy where talent retention is paramount to foster innovation.
To avoid those negative implications, companies can evolve their financial reporting practices to leverage the financial advantage of agile so they can benefit from the significantly increased tax savings and investor interest associated with agile capitalization.
This session will unravel the benefits of agile capitalization and explain how to appropriately interpret and apply generally accepted accounting standard (GAAP SOP 98-1 and ASC 350-40) so your organization can increase its agile adoption to deliver more business value faster to customers.

Automation can only be as good as the people who use it. High trust cultures which empower, minimize blame and connect people with intrinsic motivations will dominate the cloud native landscape. The cloud was not built with ITIL. Heavy change control processes attempted to minimize incidents but typically drain the enthusiasm of the people while resulting in brittle systems which fail catastrophically. Self service policy enforcing automation makes doing the right thing easy and expedient allowing cloud natives to focus on delivering for the business instead of managing politics and signatures.
Development to Operations (DevOps) is driving a profound impact on the global IT sector. IT vendors that realize DevOps’ full potential are more agile in providing new products and services under the label “DevOps inside” at an ever increasing pace. With the growing number of product choices, conflicting definitions and competing services, you may often encounter confusion while making complex decisions, delaying time to market. You at times may be unsure about how to deploy DevOps and get the most out of the solutions and tools available. Are you looking to master the DevOps "Fog?"
Learn new and trending innovations through the success of others during this informative session, and about tools and practices in the VMware world that will lead you to competitive advantage.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
