Emotional or behavioral disorder (EBD) refers to a pattern of inappropriate behaviors and emotions that affects 2-3% of the population, more commonly boys and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds. Students with EBD often have below average IQ, difficulty with learning, emotions, relationships, and impulsive behaviors. They benefit from structured lessons, positive reinforcement, rules and procedures, individualized attention, and adaptive tools to help with emotions, behaviors, and social skills.
