Advantages of Stroboscopy over White Light
Endoscopy (WLE)
• Small vocal fold lesions may be missed on WLE.
• Stroboscopy helps in the diagnosis of structural glottic lesions
affecting mucosal wave pattern.
• Sensitivity of stroboscopy for confirmed diagnosis of sulcus was
significantly better than that of WLE.
• Stroboscopy can detect subtle abnormalities in the mucosal vibratory
properties that may potentially speculate vocal cord malignant lesions
