Lesson plan (for learners) (3 min)
1. Vocabulary – review what you know on the
topic and learn new words and idioms
2. Grammar – Continuous Aspect (all cases)
Warming up on the board (7 minutes)
(a game-competition, split up into 2 teams, make up names of the teams)
Team 1 Team 2
Each team names a word in turns, the words must be adjectives and idioms describing
person’s traits of character. A team is given up to 3 seconds to announce a word. If
they exceed the limit in their turn, they lose 1 point. Generally a point is given for
every correct phrase.

Give as many options as possible, a teacher can add from themselves at the end.
Let’s get some new ones! (10 min)
(After completing the exercise create flashcards with the words our learners would like
to remember and revise from time to time using a box with the flashcards)
Practise the new adjectives (5 min)
Speaking questions:
Who among your friends, relatives, colleagues,
groupmates, etc. can be described by these
features of character)?
Which of them apply to you personally? And
which do not?

There is a special test whose results demonstrate which type of
Multiple Intelligences describes a person better, its results are
extremely helpful for teachers to see how to teach better (use
pictures and videos for visual types, music for audials, etc.)

  • 3. Lesson plan (for learners) (3 min) 1. Vocabulary – review what you know on the topic and learn new words and idioms 2. Grammar – Continuous Aspect (all cases)
  • 4. Warming up on the board (7 minutes) (a game-competition, split up into 2 teams, make up names of the teams) Team 1 Team 2 Each team names a word in turns, the words must be adjectives and idioms describing person’s traits of character. A team is given up to 3 seconds to announce a word. If they exceed the limit in their turn, they lose 1 point. Generally a point is given for every correct phrase.
  • 5. You can recollect even more! (8 minutes) (an activity using a worksheet) How would you describe a person who… Give as many options as possible, a teacher can add from themselves at the end.
  • 6. Let’s get some new ones! (10 min) (After completing the exercise create flashcards with the words our learners would like to remember and revise from time to time using a box with the flashcards)
  • 7. Practise the new adjectives (5 min) Speaking questions: Who among your friends, relatives, colleagues, groupmates, etc. can be described by these features of character)? Which of them apply to you personally? And which do not?
