This document outlines the research objectives and requirements for an Advanced Portfolio project. Students must complete research into relevant products in their genre and their target audience. This includes analyzing 3 music videos or trailers, 2 similar products for each ancillary task, and conducting a questionnaire, focus group, and interviews on their target audience. All research is due to be uploaded to blogs by July 19th except the first 3 video analyses which are due by July 11th. The document provides details on the content and presentation methods required for each piece of research.

Generating a custom Ruby SDK for your web service or Rails API using Smithyg2nightmarescribd
Have you ever wanted a Ruby client API to communicate with your web service? Smithy is a protocol-agnostic language for defining services and SDKs. Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.
JMeter webinar - integration with InfluxDB and GrafanaRTTS
Watch this recorded webinar about real-time monitoring of application performance. See how to integrate Apache JMeter, the open-source leader in performance testing, with InfluxDB, the open-source time-series database, and Grafana, the open-source analytics and visualization application.
In this webinar, we will review the benefits of leveraging InfluxDB and Grafana when executing load tests and demonstrate how these tools are used to visualize performance metrics.
Length: 30 minutes
Session Overview
-------------------------------------------
During this webinar, we will cover the following topics while demonstrating the integrations of JMeter, InfluxDB and Grafana:
- What out-of-the-box solutions are available for real-time monitoring JMeter tests?
- What are the benefits of integrating InfluxDB and Grafana into the load testing stack?
- Which features are provided by Grafana?
- Demonstration of InfluxDB and Grafana using a practice web application

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

2. RESEARCH
The main research for your Advanced Portfolio should be
completed and uploaded to your blog by Friday the 19th of
July.
This consists of:
• 3 analyses of relevant music videos or trailers
• analysis of 2 similar products for both ancillary tasks
• audience research (questionnaire, focus group, interviews
and results)
3. RESEARCH INTO SIMILAR
PRODUCTS – MAIN TASK
You need to have analysed 3 relevant products for your main
task production (music videos or trailers from a relevant genre).
Analysis 1 – detailed analysis illustrated with still images.
Analysis 2 – video analysis.
Analysis 3 – analysis of 7 key stills from the video.
For each analysis you are focusing on the use of the 4 technical
areas, conventions of genre and form, narrative, and
representation.
These should be uploaded to your blog by the end of the day
THURSDAY 11th of July.
4. RESEARCH INTO SIMILAR
PRODUCTS – ANCILLARY
TASKS
Ancillary Tasks:
Film Trailer – front cover of a film magazine, film poster.
Music Video – magazine advert for album, digipak.
You need to analyse at least 2 relevant examples for each
ancillary task from your chosen genre.
Print analysis focuses on the effect of fonts, colours, image, and
layout. You should also identify conventions of form and genre.
Remember to try to use a range of presentational methods.
5. AUDIENCE RESEARCH
The best audience research is on-going throughout the
production process. You should aim to get regular feedback
on your planning and initial versions of your products.
Preliminary audience research:
• questionnaire and results
• focus group and summary
• interviews
6. PRELIMINARY
AUDIENCE RESEARCH
Questionnaire – the purpose of the questionnaire is to identify
the demographic (age, gender) of your target
audience, psychographic information (hobbies and
interests), and what they find appealing/expect in your product.
Focus group – ask members of your target audience to discuss
what they like/dislike in examples of similar products.
Interviews – interview members of your target audience about
their views of the genre.
Use a range of methods of presentation – e.g. online surveys.
video, mind-maps, audio, etc.
