  • 1. Goals Objectives Activities Evaluation Goal 1 Students will be reading at their grade level. This goal should be implemented and have all students reading at their grade level within three years. Rationale from Empowering Learners: Standards for the 21st Century Learner Common Belief # 1: Reading is the Window of the World. Good reading skills lead to success. Objective 1a Promote reading for pleasure. Activity 1a Allow students to choose books based on their preferences for them to read at home and at school when they are not working on school work. Evaluation 1a Students must provide a brief description of the book when they finish reading their selection. Objective 1b Reinstate the Accelerated Reader program. Activity 1b Allow students to choose books to read based on the Accelerated Reader list. Evaluation 1b Students must complete the computerized assessment based on the books they choose to read. Objective 1c Collaborate with teachers to offer reading/movie combos. Activity 1c Choose books to read in class and then allow the students to view the movie that was based on the book. Evaluation 1c Students must write a brief summary of the book before the movie is viewed. Goal 2 Students will improve their scores on Objective 2a Promote studying for the tests. Activity 2a Offer extra credit assignments based on material on the Evaluation 2a Grade the extra credit assignments as an opportunity
