Acts 16 1 Then came he to Derbe and Lystra:
and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named
Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was
a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
2 Which (Timothy) was well reported of by the

brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.

                                                 3

3 Him (Timothy) would Paul have to go forth with
him; and took and circumcised him because of the
Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew
all that his father was a Greek. Review
4 And as they went through the cities, they
delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were
ordained of the apostles and elders which were at
Jerusalem.

                                                    5
5 And so were the churches established in the
faith, and increased in number daily.
True doctrine preached and taught in love
            is a catalyst for growth.
Ephesians 4 11 And He (Jesus Christ) gave some
(churches), apostles; and some, prophets; and
some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 For the perfecting (complete furnishing -helping

them grow up able to do the work) of the saints, for
the work of the ministry, for the edifying (building
up) of the body of Christ:
                                                  6
13 Tillwe all come in the unity of the faith, and of
the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (of
full age) man, unto the measure of the stature of the
fullness of Christ: 14 That we henceforth be no
more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about
with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of
men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in
wait to deceive;

                                                   7
15 But speaking the Truth in love, may grow up
into Him in all things, which is the head, even
Christ: 16 From whom the whole body fitly joined
together and compacted (knit together) by that
which every joint supplieth *, according to the
effectual working in the measure of every
part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying
(building up) of itself in love.

                                                 8
So Paul, Silas, and Timothy continued the
  journey together, teaching sound doctrine.
5 And so were the churches established (made
stronger) in the faith, and increased in number
daily.
With the teaching of the doctrine of
Christianity, the churches grew to be solid in their
                       beliefs --

They could not be Truth and live it.
Know the shaken with every wind of
            doctrine that came along.
                                                   9
6 Now when they had
gone throughout Phrygia
and the region of
Galatia, and were
forbidden of the Holy
Ghost to preach the word
in Asia, 7 After they were
come to Mysia, they
assayed to go into
Bithynia: but the Spirit
suffered them not.

                             10
How these hindrances were accomplished is not
stated. It may have been circumstances, a word of
prophecy, a vision, or some other phenomenon. At
any rate, God planned for people in both Ephesus
and Bithynia to hear the Gospel at a later time.

Paul and Silas understood God's Will.
Where to go, and where not to go.
What to do, and what not to do.
We must learn to see and understand His Will
              in all things.
                                                                                           11
8-10And they passing by Mysia came down to
Troas. And a vision appeared to Paul in the night;
There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed
him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help
us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately
we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly
gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach
the Gospel unto them.

However God reveals His Will for us,
we must see and obey the Will of God.

We must be sensitive to the working of the
Holy Ghost in our hearts and minds.
To do what God wants us to do will be our
       greatest blessing in this life.
