Paul arrested in Jerusalem
Paul spent about four years on his third missionary journey, much of which was in Ephesus establishing churches. He traveled through various regions, preaching and visiting churches. In Jerusalem, he was accused of forbidding circumcision and trying to desecrate the temple. This led to his imprisonment, but gave him opportunities to preach Christ before various audiences including the Sanhedrin, Felix, Festus, and Agrippa.
Church Planting in the Province of Asia
Paul arrives in Ephesus and finds some disciples who have only received John's baptism. They did not know about the Holy Spirit. Paul baptizes them in the name of Jesus and lays hands on them, and they receive the Holy Spirit, speaking in tongues and prophesying. Paul preaches boldly in the synagogue for three months but some reject his message. He then teaches daily in the hall of Tyrannus for two years, and the word of the Lord spreads throughout Asia.
Acts 5b Don't be shy; Tell the Good News.
The document is a summary of Acts 5:11-20 from the Bible. It summarizes that God killed Ananias and Sapphira for lying about their gift to the church. This caused great fear in the early church. The document warns that when we act outside of God's will, there can be difficulties and consequences as our desires may not align with God's plans. Ultimately, God's will prevails.

Acts 20a stay awake
1) Paul preached late into the night in Troas until a young man named Eutychus fell asleep during the long sermon and fell out of a window, dying. 2) Paul went down and revived the young man, who was brought back to life. 3) After breaking bread, Paul continued preaching until dawn before departing.

Peter and John healed a lame man at the Temple gate. The man was able to walk, leap and praise God, which amazed all who saw him. Encouraged, Gideon attacked with his 300 men blowing trumpets and breaking pitchers, which caused the Midianite army to panic and start killing each other in their confusion and fear. God gave Gideon and the Israelites a great victory over the much larger Midianite army.

In Miletus, Paul called the elders of the Ephesus church to meet him, as it would have taken too long to meet in Ephesus. Paul faced adversity from both Jews and Gentiles during his time ministering in Ephesus. Nothing could stop Paul from finishing the work God called him to do, testifying about Jesus.
Acts 20b persevere in doing good deeds
Paul preached all night in Troas and then walked 20 miles to Assos while his companions sailed 40 miles to meet him there. He then sailed with them to Miletus, stopping in various ports along the way. In Miletus, Paul sent for the elders of the Ephesus church to come to him, as it would have taken too long to meet with them all in Ephesus. Paul reminded the elders of his time ministering in Ephesus and warned them that he would face bonds and afflictions in Jerusalem, but he was determined to complete his ministry of preaching the gospel despite any hardships.

After Stephen's martyrdom, persecution of the church grew exponentially. So did the spread of the Gospel.
Acts 26a apostle paul testifies
Paul defends himself before King Agrippa, stating that the Jews are aware of how devoutly he followed Pharisaic laws and customs from his youth in Jerusalem. However, he explains that the real reason for the accusations against him is because he believes in the coming fulfillment of God's promises to the Israelites, including the resurrection of the dead. Paul admits that in his past life before converting to Christianity, he had violently persecuted Jesus' followers in Jerusalem and foreign cities. Next week the story of Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus will be discussed.
Stories from the Book of Acts for Children
The disciples waited in Jerusalem as Jesus had instructed. On the day of Pentecost, they received the Holy Spirit, evidenced by small flames above each person. Approximately 3,000 people accepted Jesus that day. Peter healed a lame man at the temple gate, and over 5,000 people believed. 1 Thess & 1 Corinth

The Bowmans will be at the Gospel Baptist Tabernacle on Saturday, December 29 at 6:00 pm to lead worship. Paul and his friends have arrived in Jerusalem and are staying with Mnason, a long-time disciple of Jesus. When Paul told James and the elders what God had accomplished among the Gentiles through his ministry, they praised God.
Acts 23c the almighty hand of god

But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

- 5. The unbelieving Jews in Corinth joined together in a mob, seized Paul, and brought him before Gallio, the Roman Governor of that area. The Romans did not allow new religions to be brought forth, but did allow existing religions to continue to be practiced. Gallio saw Christianity as just another sect of Judaism. 5
- 6. 17 Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things. 6
- 7. The unbelieving Jews stirred up a mob, and it turned on them. Sosthenes had evidently become ruler of the syna- gogue in place of Crispus (who got saved) and had led in the Jews’ charge against Paul. He may well be the same Sosthenes who was later converted to Christianity and was referred to in 1 Corinthians 1:1. - 8. 18 And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow (Nazirite vow). Part of a Nazirite vow was to let your hair grow. The time of the vow ended, and Paul cut his hair. What about Silas and Timothy? Stayed behind to oversee the new churches. 8

- 10. 19 And he came to Ephesus, and left them (Priscilla and Aquila) there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews. 20 When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not; While in Ephesus, Paul went into the synagogue. These Jews wanted to hear more, but Paul was eager to return to Jerusalem. 10
- 11. 21 Butbade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast (probably Passover) that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God Will. And he sailed from Ephesus. 22 And when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch. 11
- 12. 23 And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples. Beginning Paul's third missionary journey. 12
- 13. New Christians need someone to teach them and help them to grow up in the Way of God. If they are just saved and then go on their own, they are likely to fall by the wayside. 13
