The goal is to increase the percentage of third grade students reading at grade level from 38% to 80% at R.C. Neal Elementary. Teachers will receive ongoing, job-embedded professional development on specific reading strategies. This will help second grade students improve their reading levels as measured by assessments, resulting in more students reading proficiently in third grade.

1. Goal: R.C. Neal Elementary will increase the amount of students going to third grade
reading on grade level from 38% to 80%.
Objective: By giving the teachers specific strategies through on-going and job embedded
professional development, the second grade students will increase their reading level as
measured by the TPRI and Tejas Lee resulting in and increase of students who are going
