Prokaryotic cells and Eukaryotic cells have many similarities
and differences. Prokaryotic cells are in bacteria and
archaea. On the other hand Eukaryotic cells are in animals and
plants.Eukaryotic cells have lysosomes and
peroxisomes,microtubules,true membrane bound nucleus,endoplasmic
reticulum,mitochondria,permeability of nuclear
membrane,nucleus,golgi apparatus,and cytoskeleton.Prokaryotic
cells do not have them but the cytoskeleton may be absent. The
ribosomes are larger in eukaryotic cells and in prokaryotic
cells they are smaller. Also in eukaryotic cells they have plasma
membrane with steroid. In the prokaryotic cells they usually do
not have them.Chloroplasts are present in Eukaryotic cells in
plants.Chloroplasts are absent in prokaryotic cells.Prokaryotic
cell size is 1-10um.Eukaryotic cell size is 10-100um.The cell
wall are only in plant cells and fungi in eukaryotic cells. On
the other hand the cell wall is usually chemically complexed in
prokaryotic cells.Eukaryotic cells are usually multicellular and
prokaryotic cells are usually unicellular. Some cyanobacteria may
be multicellular. There are more than one chromosomes in
eukaryotic cells.Chromosomes in prokaryotic cells is one--but
not true chromosomes:plasmids. There are only two things the
eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells have in common is they
both have vacuoles and vesicles.
