 This forceps is 15-25 cm long, fenestrated
triangular blades and grooved jaws.
 It has firm grip on the tube without crushing
or damaging its blood supply and mucosa.
 Used to hold or fix the fallopian tube, in
operations like tubectomy,tuboplasty.
 Also used for handling the appendix,
intestine,ureters, thyroid gland etc.
 It is non-traumatic instrument
 Long handle with one sharp point on
each blade of the forceps.
 It causes least injury to cervix
 It is applied by catching the anterior
lip of the cervix transversely.
 Used to hold cervix in nulliparous
women.
 Retracts posterior vaginal wall.
 Used in major vaginal operations e.g.
amputation of cervix in cancer.
 Large instrument, having catch clamp and
curved blades
 Used to hold the uterus during various uterine
surgeries e.g. salpingectomy.
 Also used in tuboplasty.
 Atraumatic jaws that holds tissue
firmly with minimal tissue demage.

during surgery on the rectum.
 This instrument is a coarse threaded screw
with a pointed tip and the other end is handle.
 It is screwed into the myoma which helps to
steady it and also heps to lift up the fibroid
which is then enucleated.
 Used to give traction to the uterus during
hystrectomy.
 Made up of latex rubber.
 The catheter has two channels, one
for drainage of urine and the another
for inflating the subterminal bulb.
 Retroverted gravid uterus with retension of
urine
 Monitoring of urine output in cases like
LSCS, eclampsia etc
 Prolonged obstructed labour
 Surgery on uterovaginal prolapse—3 days
