2. This video is a narrative.
It is telling the story of a young couple falling
in love and starting a life together.
There are flash backs to her past which were
not holding very nice memories.
It has ups and downs but ends happily, the
perfect fairy-tale.
3. Throughout the video they are wearing casual
clothes which is usually linked to singer
songwriters.
It is what you would be expecting to hear
from that genre.
It will more than likely mean something to the
artist or someone else.
4. At 0:19 she sings ‘You were at college
working part time waiting tables’ it goes to
the café and there is a waiter at her table.
At 0:51 she sings ‘sitting there by the water’
and there is the sea in the background.
At 0:53 she sings ‘you put your arm around
me’ just after he does.
‘I remember that fight 2:30am’ they are
fighting from 2:15- 2:28.
‘I ran out crying’ and ‘you followed me’ from
2:30-2:56.
5. She sings ‘goodbye’ and as she does she
makes a little goodbye gesture with her hand
at 2:49.
When it focuses on her singing at 1:56 she
sings ‘mine’ and puts her hand to her heart
to signify that.
6. At 0:49 there is a little bit of on beat editing
with a change of scene.
7. Throughout the video there are loads of close
up’s of the singer.
She is in pretty much every shot so you know
that its all supposed to be focused on her.
In all of Taylor Swifts videos she is the main
focus so this in a way could be seen as a
branding motif.
She is the star and her face is the one that
you will remember.
8. The artist in this song is very pretty and could
be seen as the perfect woman.
I do not think that in this music video that
there is any voyeuristic treatment there.
It is a video that will make you look at her the
majority of the time.
9. There are no Intertextual References that I
can find in this music video.
