2. Introduction
Recruitment and Selection is an important operation in
HRM, designed to maximize employee strength in
order to meet the employer's strategic goals and
objectives. In short, Recruitment and Selection is the
process of sourcing, screening, shortlisting and
selecting the right candidates for the filling the
required vacant positions.Recruitment and selection is
the process of identifying the need for a job, defining
the requirements of the position and the job holder,
advertising the position and choosing the most
appropriate person for the job.
3. Company Profile
Aashman Foundation is working for the upliftment
and betterment of the less-privileged kids. It works
in the field of child's education, health and his
rights. Started as a group of 10 friends, today
Aashman Foundation has more than 100 volunteers
who work hard round the year for the betterment
of the society. Over the years, Aashman Foundation
has conducted plethora of projects which not only
includes grass-root level projects which are directly
related to the kids but also includes fund-raising
events.
4. Objectives of the Study
1- To study the satisfaction level of employees
regarding recruitment and selection process
followed at Aashman foundation
2- To study the recruitment and selection process
followed at Aashman foundation
3- To know the selection process followed at
Aashman foundation
4- To review the HR policies pertaining to
recruitment and selection
5. Research Methodology
Research design:- In this report I have used Descriptive research .
The Research design is purely and simply the framework of plan
for a study that guides the collection and analysis of data.
Descriptive Research design was used for this research.
Universe:- Mumbai
Sample type:- Convenience sampling- A statistical method of
drawing representative data by selecting people because of the
ease of their volunteering or selecting units because of their
availability or area access.
Sample Size:- Sample size is 100 respondents.
Sample Unit:- Employees of Aashman foundation Mumbai
Statistical tools to be used:-
1) Bar graph
2) Pie chart.
6. Limitations of the study
1) Time is too short to give shape to a new idea
in the organization.
2) Less importance to the long-term operational
benefits.
3) Expenses for HR Department are not viewed
as investments.
4) Conversion of footfalls is low.
5) Huge employee turnover.
7. FINDINGS
Employee were highly satisfied with the recruitment and selection process
and may refer to their friends
Maximum no. of employee believed that internal recruitment method is the
best method adopted for recruitment at Aashman foundation It is observed
from the analysis that 54% of the respondents are says that the morale and
ethics followed in department at Aashman foundation is Average,
It is clear from the above analysis that 44% of the respondents are selected
on the basis of Technical skills.
8. SUGGESTIONS
The advertisement in newspaper and magazine should make
more effective through advertising in standard to recruit skilled
employees.
The rules and procedure of Aashman foundation should
changed to present scenario.
The morale and ethics should be improved by making effective
rules and regulation.
The salary package should be increased to the present
employees as well as to the new comers to hire skilled
employees.
9. CONCLUSION
The employees of any organization are its life blood, without doubt. With
the dawn of this realization upon the present day business organizations,
there appears to be a major shift towards human resource management. In
fact, the employees of today are encouraged to participate in the major
decisions and thus play a vital role in the management of the firm. The
performance of the organization depends on the efficiency that its
employees exhibit. Hence it is of crucial importance that employees with the
most suitable qualifications be selected. This is where the processes of
recruitment and selection come in. It is difficult to separate one from the
other.
The process of recruitment and selection has to be at its best to get suitable
candidates to carry out the job. Hence each company is concentrating on
recruitment and selection process. Due to the added burden on the part of
the organization they go for consultancies to get their manpower. Thus in
Consultancy has the responsibility to satisfy the need of the companies.
