1. RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION
Recruitment and Selection is an important operation in
HRM, designed to maximize employee strength in order
to meet the employer's strategic goals and objectives. It
is a process of sourcing, screening, shortlisting and
selecting the right candidates for the required vacant
positions.
This is a brief introductory tutorial that explains
different methods of hiring and how to make effective
and efficient utilization of Recruitment and Selection. In
addition, it also explains the best recruitment practices
for specific requirements.
Hiring involves two broad activities :-

2. Selection

People are integral part of any organization today.
NO organization can run without its Human
resources. In today’s highly complex and competitive
situation, Choice of right person at the right place
has far reaching implications for an organization’s
functioning. Employee well selected and well placed
would contribute to the efficient running of the
organization but offer significant potential for future
replacement. This hiring is an important function.
The process of hiring begins with human resource
planning(HRP) which helps to determine the number
and type of people an organization needs. Job
analysis and job design enable to specify the task
and duties of hobs and qualification expected from
prospective job HRP. Job analysis, hob design helps
to identify the kind of people required an
organization and hence hiring. It should be noted but
hiring is an ongoing process and not confined to
formative stages of an organization. Employees lead
the organization in search of greener, pastures,
some retire and some die in the saddle.

Recruitment and Selection process in an
orgeginization is important in order to attract an
effective and talented workforce. This is important
because it would ultimately determine the success of the
business and would affect the whole organization

and it consists of a variety of operations. Resources
are considered as most important asset to any
organization. Hence, hiring right resources is the
most important aspect of Recruitment. Every
company has its own pattern of recruitment as per
their recruitment policies and procedures.

6. RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
The recruitment and selection is marked with high level
of attiration and therefore recruitment process of
becomes a critical function of the organization . At
INDIGO AIRLINES , recruitment will all time high during
MAY-JUNE and OCT – NOV . The attiration is high among
the screening security ,is mostly important in Security
profile. The recruitment is high during these months due
to the fact that . March and September are half year
closing and business is high during in Jan – March .Thus it
will only after March that people move oout of the
companies .

7. LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY
Due to the busy schedule of the executives in the
company, all the required primary data could not be
collected, which might affect the results of the study
Recommendations of the study are only personal
opinions. Hence the judgments may be biased and
could not be considered as ultimate and standard
solutions
Short period of time is one of the limitations, due to
which a detailed study could not be conducted on
the topic.
