Engineering journey…
 First Year is Vital.
 If you plan well at the beginning, your
journey will be smoother and ending
will be perfect.
What should I do in I Year
 Focus on academics.
 Have vision 60%.
 One should try to get minimum 60% in
I year.
 Why???
 When you reach final year you would
like to sit for every company.
 It is possible if you have I class
What should I do in I Year
 If your english/basic communication is
not good..put every thing in to working
on it.
 Encourage every one around you to
communicate in english.
 Take mathematics very seriously.
 Irrespective of your branch make C
your favorite language.
 Good logical and analytical mind is the
hallmark of a good engineer.
What I should Not do in I Year
 Control your participation in many
activities.
 You can always do it from II year.
 Avoid negative people.
 Do some thing as simple as book
reviews.
 Keep fear out from your head.
 Every one can learn new things in life
and with hard work every thing is
possible.
What should I do in II Year
 Prepare basic fundamental subjects
well.
 Why??
 Interviewer will ask you questions from
those subjects.
 Work on good CV writing, Letter
writing, mail writing etc.
 Telephone etiquettes.
 Impt: Learn the art of “being
assertive.”
What I should Not do in II
Year
 Theory is not every thing so do not
take your practical knowledge lightly.
 Do not be reactive try to be proactive.
 Do not spoil relations with any one
who matters to you.
 College is a place to learn many
things so be regular with your lectures
and practicals.
What should I do in III Year
 Practice GDs and PI techniques.
 Try to do at least one certification---
 Niche Technology & Foreign Language.
 Participate in lot of
seminars/workshops/competitions.
 Try to understand Software Engineering
Concepts practically.
 Do a small project. Get involved with
customers. Do surveys etc.
 Practice Aptitude Skills rigorously.
What should I do in IV Year
 Finish your certification and update
your CV.
 Solve lot of company papers.
 Talk to your seniors.
 Do project to learn and explore new
things (do not buy projects).
 Create your professional network on
line
and be visible to others.
 Learn to interact with alumni.
Interview
 Pre-requisite: Marks
 Rounds:
 Written Exam (Apti-
logical/maths/quanti/english)
 GD/Technical Round
 HR Round
 Offers
 Try not to impress the interviewer.
Interview – Dos
 Properly placed personal file.
 File should contain:
 1. Hard copy CV (updated)
 2. All the docs (descending order)
 3. Achievements docs
 4. Certifications (if any)
 5. Project work docs
 6. Pass port size photo (4)
 7. Plane A4 size papers and pencil
Interview – Try this
 Do the company research.
 Focus more on project preparation.
 Explain things on paper with diagrams
if possible.
 Wait till the entire process gets over.
 Thank the person before leaving the
place.
