Search is one of the most important ways that businesses are discovered. Be sure they find you before the other company or person with the same name as you.
There are many more places you can be online – but make sure you have complete professional profiles on these sites first.
One of the important goals when using Social Media is to be found in search results. This is part of my first page on Google Search searching my name. I have more than four pages with links to my Social Media and my website www.SocialMediaMadeSimple.info
This map shows the basics that must be on a professional website no matter the business.
As a writer, you will want to have your books for sale, perhaps with a link to Amazon .
Yes, I want you to have your actual email; you are a business. Hiding your information behind a form is counterproductive – you want your fans to reach out to you.
Links to all of your Social Media address is crucial to building your audience.
The green bubbles tell you what to do on your blog
The other bubbles give you options on how and where to post your blog.
Facebook Page is for business – use your branding to make a statement. Post about your writing. Create an event for book signings. Communicate with your fans.
LinkedIn has the most amount of information about you and your work. This is your Resume online. This is a professional social media site; you can meet people who can help you and those you can help. When writing out your Summary be sure to write as if you are meeting a person at a networking event rather than formal business writing. In addition, be sure to include keywords.
Twitter is the most misunderstood social media site.
It is a great site to push out information and often you do not need to go to Twitter to do so. LinkedIn will send your posts to Twitter - two for one.
Twitter is a great search engine to find out what is trending. Also, you can search Twitter using keywords search.twitter.com
Pinterest is the most visual and fun site for me. But it is also a great way to get the word out about your publications, books, blogs, articles.
Always include a link to your website or blog and the whole address http://www.socialmediamadesimple.info
Create a Board for each publication, Book, article and Blog then add supporting information – photos, graphs, illustrations etc.
Google+ is still the geek and nerd
Just another place to show up on the Internet.
The YouTube Channel where you save your videos and the videos of people, organizations and causes you admire and support.
