This paper introduces a novel task distribution methodology known as the Minimum Laxity First (MLF) algorithm for heterogeneous reconfigurable computing systems (HRCS) that utilize FPGA and soft core processors. The MLF algorithm, which dynamically schedules tasks based on task attributes and resource costs, demonstrates superior resource utilization and faster application execution compared to existing static scheduling methods. The research outlines the methodology, implementation, and performance evaluation using real-time applications represented as task graphs.
