This paper presents a novel multi-tiered solid state disk (SSD) utilizing both single-level cell (SLC) and multi-level cell (MLC) flash memory to enhance reliability and performance while reducing costs. The proposed adaptive hot data migration (AHDM) algorithm optimizes data handling between SLC and MLC to prolong SSD lifespan and minimize latency. Overall, this approach aims to improve the efficiency of SSDs, competing effectively with traditional hard disks.
