This document discusses a new method for assessing enterprise architecture and making decisions about improvement or redesign. It proposes using enterprise architecture maturity and multifactor systems to evaluate an organization's "as-is" state based on its mission and goals. The role of peer assessment in education has become of particular interest in recent years, mainly because of its potential benefits in improving student’s learning and benefits in time management by allowing teachers and tutors to use their time more efficiently to get the results of student’s assessments quicker. Peer assessment has also relevant in the context of distance learning and massive open online courses (MOOCs).
The discipline of architecture is dominated by an artistic language that has its own way of being discussed and applied. The architecture project analysis and criticism goes beyond the technical compon- ents and programme requirements that need to be fulfilled. Dominating the architecture language is an essential tool in the architect’s toolbox. In this context peer assessment activities can help them develop skills early in their undergraduate education.
In this work we show how peer assessment acts as a formative activity in architecture teaching. Peer assessment leads the students to develop critical and higher order thinking processes that are fundamental for the analysis of architecture projects. The applicability of this strategy to massive open online education systems has to be considered as the heterogeneous and unsupervised environment requires confidence in the usefulness of this approach. To study this we designed a local experiment to investigate the role of peer experiment in architecture teaching.
This experiment showed that students reacted positively to the peer assessment exercise and looked forward to participating when it was announced. Previously to the assessment students felt engaged by the responsibility of marking their colleagues. Subsequently to the first iteration of the peer assessment, professors registered that students used elements of the qualitative assessment in their architecture discourse, and tried to answer the criticisms pointed to their projects by their colleagues. This led their work in directions some hadn’t considered before.
The marks awarded by the students are in good agreement with the final scores awarded by the professors. Only in 5 cases the average score of the peer assessment differed more than 10% from marks given by the professors. It was also observed that the professor’s marks where slightly higher than the average of the peer marking. No correlation was observed between the marks given by a student as marker and the final score given to that student by the professors.
The data produced in this experiment shows peer assessment as a feedback mechanism in the construction of a critical thought process and in the development of an architectural discourse. Also it shows that students tend to mark their colleagues with great accuracy. Both of these results are of great importance for possible application of peer assessment strategies to massive open online courses and distance education.

In this session we are going to consider some lessons that Business Architecture practitioners might learn from Lean. Business Architecture has traditionally delivered ivory tower models which are slow to generate, hard to understand, and require heavy maintenance.
We'll start with a '101' level introduction to Business Architecture, discussing both the process of defining a Business Architecture and also some of the models that Business Architecture produces. We'll also try to understand the value of Business Architecture.
We'll then start to map some Lean Principles to Business Architecture and try and understand how we could potentially optimise the value stream. We'll consider where Business Architecture can be wasteful, discussing the diminishing value of information and the concept of analysis paralysis.
Finally I'll introduce you to a leaner approach to Business Architecture that focusses on rapid techniques for model generation and heavier engagement of system actors in both the development and the maintenance of models. The field of Information retrieval (IR) is currently undergoing a transformative shift, at least partly due to the emerging applications of generative AI to information access. In this talk, we will deliberate on the sociotechnical implications of generative AI for information access. We will argue that there is both a critical necessity and an exciting opportunity for the IR community to re-center our research agendas on societal needs while dismantling the artificial separation between the work on fairness, accountability, transparency, and ethics in IR and the rest of IR research. Instead of adopting a reactionary strategy of trying to mitigate potential social harms from emerging technologies, the community should aim to proactively set the research agenda for the kinds of systems we should build inspired by diverse explicitly stated sociotechnical imaginaries. The sociotechnical imaginaries that underpin the design and development of information access technologies needs to be explicitly articulated, and we need to develop theories of change in context of these diverse perspectives. Our guiding future imaginaries must be informed by other academic fields, such as democratic theory and critical theory, and should be co-developed with social science scholars, legal scholars, civil rights and social justice activists, and artists, among others.

successful projects and statistical information gathering and
sampling methods to calculate the approximate threshold. If
the score obtained by the project is higher than the
threshold, the enterprise architecture will be benefit from

7. The second method uses the “nearest neighborhood”
strategy to import scoring results of previous successful
projects into the network and eventually studies and reports
on the network conditions based on project interruption
points. For this purpose, the learning rate was taken at 0.1,
neighborhood radius was taken as 2, and neighborhood
radius decrement was taken as 0.999. Two variables x and y
were taken as the score of each project and the costs of its
improvement [13].
The third method, TOPSIS, is a multiple indicator
decision making method which works based on distances to
the best and worst projects [14][15].
One of the most important advantages of this method is
the ability to sequence the choices. This method is more
normalized than “nearest neighborhood” method. In this
method the matrix demonstrated in table 1 was used. In this
table, 5 parameters are used. im shows the improvement
choice and rd shows the redesign choice, and n shows the nth

VIII. CASE STUDY
For the case studies, the information available in the real
projects of “Iran Statistics Center”, “Iran Ports and Shipping
Lines”, “Tehran Water and Sewer” Organizations and two
hospitals in Tehran was entered as input into the system.
This was accompanied by reasonable results in full harmony

A tool for the case study was created which is capable of
storing the information related to the enterprise architecture,

• Input of basic information (such as all the data
related to function, service, and technology),
• Information input section of each project,
• Determination of the significance of each
component based on selected seeding levels,
• Report of the conditions of a project based on the
“nearest neighborhood” method, threshold was

architecture is so low that its improvement will be too costly
and there is no choice but to redesign the whole architecture.
By the use of the method which is conjectured in this paper,
one is enabled to assess the enterprise architecture and make
more accurate decisions on improvement or redesign of the
organizational architecture. This is a very important decision
in reducing the costs, risks, and time in development or
improvement activities.
Another advantage of this method is the possibility of
using the scores resulted in Cost-Benefit analysis and
possibility for decision making for planning and scheduling
of activities for development of enterprises.
Among the development fields available to the proposed
method, is the development and higher accuracy of the list
of reference models. Other fields related to this issue include
finding a more accurate neighborhood function for the
implemented “nearest neighborhood” network. Moreover,
ontology of reference models can be used to fully automate
the rule interpreting agent.
