Enhancing Employability in Later Life: Developing strategies 
to improve access to CVET for older workers 
17 & 18 October 2013 
Venue: Norrlands Nation Fest & Konferens, Västra Ågatan 14 Uppsala. 
It´s located in the city centre of Uppsala close to the little river Fyrisån. 
 

Invitation 
You  are  warmly  invited  to  attend  this  2‐
day  conference,  which  is  being  held  to 
present  the  results  of  the  Age 
Management  in  Practice  (AMaP) 
European  project,  established  to  explore 
ways  of  improving  access  to  continuing 
vocational  education  for  older  adults  as 
well the challenges faced by employers as 
a result of an ageing workforce.  
 
Funded  by  the  European  Commission’s  Lifelong  Learning  Porgramme,  AMaP  is  actively  seeking  to 
influence  policy  leaders,  Chambers  of  Commerce  and  National  Qualifications  Authorities  through 
participation in this international event. 
 

Themes 
 Considering the challenges faced by older workers in remaining economically active in later 
life  
 Recognising  the  currency,  validity  of  the  skills  and  human  capital  of  older  workers  to 
encourage greater participation in the labour market by older adults  
 Understanding the emerging attitudes of employers to older workers and the value of age 
management practices 
 

Audience 
The conference will examine the challenges of an ageing workforce across Europe and present the 
results and products developed by the project partnership.  Participants representing a wide range 
of  stakeholders  from  National  Qualifications  Authorities,  Local  and  National  Government  and 
Chambers of Commerce will be attending, allowing a unique opportunity to discuss and debate a key 
issue facing all European countries.

  • 1.       Enhancing Employability in Later Life: Developing strategies  to improve access to CVET for older workers  17 & 18 October 2013  Venue: Norrlands Nation Fest & Konferens, Västra Ågatan 14 Uppsala.  It´s located in the city centre of Uppsala close to the little river Fyrisån.    Invitation  You  are  warmly  invited  to  attend  this  2‐ day  conference,  which  is  being  held  to  present  the  results  of  the  Age  Management  in  Practice  (AMaP)  European  project,  established  to  explore  ways  of  improving  access  to  continuing  vocational  education  for  older  adults  as  well the challenges faced by employers as  a result of an ageing workforce.     Funded  by  the  European  Commission’s  Lifelong  Learning  Porgramme,  AMaP  is  actively  seeking  to  influence  policy  leaders,  Chambers  of  Commerce  and  National  Qualifications  Authorities  through  participation in this international event.    Themes   Considering the challenges faced by older workers in remaining economically active in later  life    Recognising  the  currency,  validity  of  the  skills  and  human  capital  of  older  workers  to  encourage greater participation in the labour market by older adults    Understanding the emerging attitudes of employers to older workers and the value of age  management practices    Audience  The conference will examine the challenges of an ageing workforce across Europe and present the  results and products developed by the project partnership.  Participants representing a wide range  of  stakeholders  from  National  Qualifications  Authorities,  Local  and  National  Government  and  Chambers of Commerce will be attending, allowing a unique opportunity to discuss and debate a key  issue facing all European countries.    This project has been funded with support from the European Commission.
