A LEVEL NEA STATEMENT OF INTENT: MAGAZINE
As a productof the Bauer MediaGroup,my magazine will be producedwithhighqualityandcare,
and will followthe company’sbelief inthe importanceof creativity.Mymagazine will be underthe
genre of fashionandlifestyle of the male genderspecifically,withmytwodifferentsocial groups
comingfromthe ethnicityof the models,asa wayof promotingequalityinasocietywhere racismis
frowneduponandwhere everyone deservesequal rights. One model will be wearingsmart/casual
clothingfromrecogniseddesignerbrands,suchasLevi jeansand Burberry shirts,and will be looking
straightat the camerato initiate eye-contactwiththe reader. The othermodel will be wearinga
jacket,to relate tothe editionwhichwillbe basedaroundwinter-seasonedfashion. Shadow effects
will be includedinawayof complimentingthe darkercoloursthatwill be featuredonthe cover,as
the audience wouldlikelybe astereotypical male. The designerclothingrelatestothe classAB
demographicandthe 16-25 age categorythanksto the pristine of the brands and theirpopularityin
that age bracket. Fashionable clothingandstylesmustbe usedsoit’sobviousmyproductsare of the
fashionindustry andaproduct of Bauer. The mastheadwill be foundcentrallyatthe top of the page,
inorder to promote the brand inthe hope of creatingsome kindof brand loyaltybymakingthe
mastheadnoticeableandrememberable.The contentof the magazine will focusonsimpler
lifestyles,suchasrelationships,the gymandof course the bestfashionstylesforthe currenttimes.
The website will have tocomplimentthe magazine covers,keepingthe same themesbypromoting
similararticlesonthe frontandusingsimilarcolourcombinationstoattractto the same audience.
Differenttabswill be includedthatprovide informationonthe ethosof the brandin an ‘aboutus’
section,alongwithothersectionsincludingnewsonfashion,sportsandfitnessetc. The title will
againbe boldandcentral,ina waysimilartothe mastheadon the magazine,withthe same fontand
colourin orderto try and create a form of brand recognition.Linkstosocial mediaaccountswillbe
providedinordertorelate to the youngerage demographic, andina wayto communicate withthe
audience fromadifferentangle.Will include storiesinthe website notincludedinthe magazine
contents,asthe audience needsanincentivetovisitthe website.Modelswill feature inareas of the
website torelate tothe magazine covers,andspecificphoto’swillbe includedthatrelate tospecific
articles/newsonthe website.
The two productsstatedabove will linkinanumberof ways.The firstway inwhichI’mhopingto do
so isby usingthe website toentice people topurchase the magazine through providingmore
information onarticlesinthe magazine ratherthanthe website,meaningthe audiencewouldneed
to purchase the magazine tofulfil theirinterest,orpotentiallyvice-versa.Ihave alsochosento
