Arthur C. Nielsen, the founder of ACNielsen said, “The price of light is less than the cost of darkness.” This is becoming even more important in the day and age of IoT devices and ubiquitous internet connectivity. The amount of data that is at the fingertips of our companies’ decision makers is colossal. Yet very few business leaders and their direct teams can analyze their data by themselves to uncover insights that will improve our products and services to delight their customers and grow their business.
With the rise of low-code/no-code tools, cloud infrastructure, and the convergence of AI and BI, the democratization of analytics can accelerate the time to answer a question while improving its relevancy.
In this presentation, we will cover the 12 critical capabilities to succeed in enabling self-service analytics and augmenting data literacy across the enterprise.

Analytics plays a critical role in supporting strategic business initiatives. Despite the apparent value of providing the data infrastructure for these initiatives, many executives question the economic feasibility of business intelligence and analytics. This requires information professionals to calculate and present the business value in terms business executives can understand.
Unfortunately, most IT professionals lack the knowledge required to develop comprehensive cost-benefit analyses and return on investment (ROI) measurements.
This session provides a framework to help IT professionals research, measure, and present the economic value of a proposed or existing analytics initiative. The session will provide practical advice about how to calculate ROI, the formulas in use, and how to collect necessary information.
Data Done Right: Ensuring Information IntegritySharala Axryd
It’s the ultimate “garbage in, garbage out” quandary. Data can be an organization’s most valuable asset — but only to the degree its quality can be validated and trusted. Without the right guidelines, processes, and solutions in place to control the way applications, systems, databases, messages, and documents are managed, "dirty" data can permeate systems across the enterprise, negatively impacting everything from strategic planning to day-to-day decision making. High-quality data will ensure more efficiency in driving a company’s success because of the dependence on fact-based decisions, instead of habitual or human intuition.
To gain a better understanding of this topic, this speaking session will examine:
- what data quality and master data management is
- why they are so crucial for successful business operations and strategies
- how to improve data quality by organizational, procedural and technological means
Data Governance Best Practices, Assessments, and RoadmapsDATAVERSITY
When starting or evaluating the present state of your Data Governance program, it is important to focus on best practices such that you don’t take a ready, fire, aim approach. Best practices need to be practical and doable to be selected for your organization, and the program must be at risk if the best practice is not achieved.
Join Bob Seiner for an important webinar focused on industry best practice around standing up formal Data Governance. Learn how to assess your organization against the practices and deliver an effective roadmap based on the results of conducting the assessment.
In this webinar, Bob will focus on:
- Criteria to select the appropriate best practices for your organization
- How to define the best practices for ultimate impact
- Assessing against selected best practices
- Focusing the recommendations on program success
- Delivering a roadmap for your Data Governance program
Data centric SDLC for automated clinical data developmentKevin Lee
Many life science organizations have been building systems to automate clinical data development (e.g., SDTM and ADaM). And such systems are considered as IT product and goes through typical system development life cycle (SDLC); requirements, analysis, design, programming, test and implementation. However, SDLC was initially developed for systems that automate the business process, not the data development. So, the question naturally arises that if life science organizations develop systems to automate data development, should the systems still be developed in process-centric SDLC? or will the current process-centric SDLC satisfy the business need? The presentation will introduce data-centric SDLC. First, the presentation will discuss how some steps of typical process-centric SDLC should be modified and adjusted in data-centric SDLC. For example, test of system requires target data quality assurance. And due to unpredictability of source data, maintenance and system update will be required after implementation. Secondly, the presentation will introduce additional steps and approaches for data-centric system development process such as data profiling and compliance.

Business Value Metrics for Data GovernanceDATAVERSITY
As data professionals, we recognize and understand the need for data governance, focusing on data quality in particular. We have made progress in this area, as illustrated by the emergence of the Chief Data Officer role in recent years. However, in many organizations, the need for governance is still largely unrecognized, and remains very tough to sell internally. You may need some detailed information and metrics to demonstrate the business value. This session will focus on business justification for establishing a data governance framework, including:
Data classification
Data quality
Business value metrics (KPIs)
Solving the Data Management Challenge for HealthcareDelphix
Need a proven blueprint to fast-track application development in your healthcare organization? With triple-digit growth, 3,000+ databases and over a petabyte of data, Molina Healthcare needed a way to accelerate application development and drive digital transformation.

Levelwise PageRank with Loop-Based Dead End Handling Strategy : SHORT REPORT ...Subhajit Sahu
Abstract — Levelwise PageRank is an alternative method of PageRank computation which decomposes the input graph into a directed acyclic block-graph of strongly connected components, and processes them in topological order, one level at a time. This enables calculation for ranks in a distributed fashion without per-iteration communication, unlike the standard method where all vertices are processed in each iteration. It however comes with a precondition of the absence of dead ends in the input graph. Here, the native non-distributed performance of Levelwise PageRank was compared against Monolithic PageRank on a CPU as well as a GPU. To ensure a fair comparison, Monolithic PageRank was also performed on a graph where vertices were split by components. Results indicate that Levelwise PageRank is about as fast as Monolithic PageRank on the CPU, but quite a bit slower on the GPU. Slowdown on the GPU is likely caused by a large submission of small workloads, and expected to be non-issue when the computation is performed on massive graphs.
