A Holistic Mode Of Educating Children
According to participants shared experience, I got the notion that children go to parents' will to let not their children in school, they would willingly be
happy to let them home without education. The challenge is that apart from poverty, which force them to trick teachers with claims to let their children
out of school, they do not see the value of education. The high cost of education, poverty, and lack of employment after graduation force parents to
make claims and decisions about the fate of education for their children. This view of education make me to insist what I stated previously in this
dissertation a holistic mode of educating children and make it compelling to children and parents beyond education completion. This lack of
motive and value to education among parents make me think is the reason for parents in rural areas reluctant to demand a better education for
their children. I realized there is a problem, but they see it as normal part of life. It reminded me what I saw, when I was on my way from Musoma
to Serengeti. I saw students from one of the schools carrying heavy loads of white bags on their heads in groups walking to school. It was class time.
Each morning where I stayed I could see children with buckets of water on their heads, fire woods, hoes, cups and plates rushing to school in the
morning. When I asked about buckets of water, they told me students need to bring water to school for their porridge. I spontaneously reacted without

Education and America
Are Teachers Responsible? In his article "Kenneth Cole Gets Schooled" David Sirota writes, "Taking an honest look at America's education system
brings up queries about why other less economically stratified nations have unionized teachers and far better academic results than here in America
(761)" Students in other countries such as Korea, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, and Canada have far better academic results than those in America,
yet the teachers are not the one who need to be accepting all the blame for the failing academic standards. I am an elementary education major and have
grown up as a teacher's kid and have always found this statement and fact somewhat interesting. Now attending college I understand this statement, and

In some countries throughout the world kids are put on tracks dependent upon their careers; some get to go further in the education system than others.
Often times these career tracks are ones chosen for them based upon the family they were born into and their parents wealth and educational
knowledge. Some countries even do inventory tests in order to place students on a track and decide if they get to continue in education or if they are
required to go straight into the work force. One point Carlos Xabel Lastra–AnadГіn and Paul E. Peterson bring up in their article is that while we need
to learn from countries such as Korea, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, and Canada we must not copy exactly what they are doing but more so do
what is best for our educational system (1.) I agree with the point they have made, I do not believe we should implement all of the educational ideas
these countries have. I believe this because like America's educational system their systems have flaws as well. But instead we should learn from their
mistakes and apply and implement them into our own system as needed. In doing this step I believe we can make our educational system more
successful and proficient in comparison with these countries.
Furthermore, I think in America the freedom and availability we have here in America has allowed us as students to become

Medical Mentorship Personal Statement
When I first came across the Medical Mentorship Program, I couldn't believe what I was reading. I had finally found a program available to high
school students that allows them to shadow physicians, be mentored, and most importantly, embodies volunteerism! After hours of research to find
shadowing opportunities, the Medical Mentorship Program was an absolute answered prayer. I'm applying so I can be taught from a willing health
professional who not only cares about their own job, but about inspiring and instructing youth. That in itself speaks a lot about the program and the

Mr. Zhao taught about the human body with such zeal and overwhelming passion, it encompassed me from day one. Though I had already planned on
a being a pediatrician because I loved to care for kids, Mr. Zhao made actual medicine in relation to the human body another aspect of a health career
to explore and love. You're probably thinking, "Well yeah, you can't just like people in the healthcare industry", yet patient care, compassion, and
sympathy play a definitive role in such a field. I've witnessed these elements of healthcare first–hand volunteering at Texas Children's Hospital. I
volunteered during the summer and do so now during the school year. To explain briefly, spending the entire summer around the kids, staff, nurses,
doctors, and hospital administration, I could see everyone there loved their jobs, appreciated their coworkers, and most importantly, valued the patients
and their families. Volunteering this past summer was a life–changing experience that only motivated me to find more opportunities to grow and

"Teaching Helping Inspiring and Nurturing Kids Together" or as it is more commonly known "THINK Together" is an after
–school program, that
provides students with meaningful experiences and a safe environment where students utilized those skills throughout the rest of their lives to become
productive adults and positive members of society. At Lakeside MiddleSchool in the Little Lake City School District (LLCSD), the THINK Together
program follows the "Middle School Expanded Learning" curriculum that highlights five "spotlights" or areas of focus: math, language arts, Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), arts, and youth development. In addition, it has also served as a great alternative for parents and
guardians to utilize as a safe source for after–school care, academic support, and alternative experiences such as cooking, sports, art, sign language,

year, in six week interval during DRS; common assessment data would be analyzed to monitor THINK Together student growth. Twice a trimester, the
administrative team would document GPA's in student progress reports and report cards, and report findings during DRS meetings. Lastly, at the end of
the year, the site coordinator would conduct a post–assessment, and come together as a program evaluation team to share data results. The same

Lakeside High School is a very proactive school in school safety, and goes above and beyond to help students feel safe and secure, while at school.
School safety is one of the most important issues education today. Lakeside High School has an active approach to preventing violence on school
property, not only is this important for students' while at school, but for the safety of teachers and administrators. The wellbeing of all three groups is
important to Lakeside High School. By preventing bullying Lakeside High School can stop the violence before it even begins. It has been proven that
bullying of a student can start many types of school violence. It seems that one of the common threads that link all of the school shooters together is

There are many instances students are unsupervised or a teacher is distracted, this is when situations can occur that a bully can taunt another student.
Lakeside High School is very good at limiting the time students are unsupervised. This constant supervision of students in a structured environment
helps students feel safe. By monitoring all students, as well as, their behavior, teachers and administrators are more apt to identify problem areas or
students, which help in the prevention of violent situations or actions. In certain instances school violence goes far beyond bullying and assaults.
Some students may feel school is a safe haven, until family issues arise. Many time parents are the cause of students not feeling safe in school.
Custody battles, arguments or altercations between adults over their child, can happen on school property. By training Lakeside High School
employees, and giving them the ability to contact local law enforcement agencies, students will feel safer and more secure during the school day, if
family problems spill over to school

Who Moved My Cheese?
Who Moved My Cheese?
Ever read a story that relates to your personal life? I just recently read the story Who Moved My Cheese? , By Spencer Johnson. I'm not much of a
reader, but this story really made me think. This story makes you think about the way you live your life and how you deal with change in your life.
The author could have easily just given the message in a few paragraphs, but he gave the messages in a story involving two mice and two little people
stuck in a maze. They all are in search of "cheese". The word cheese is another way of saying your goals in life and your security of how you live. I
thought it made me think a little deeper since he gave the message the way he did.
The story made me think of a specific ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Bill Gates has always had an easy childhood. Ever since he was young, he had always had a love for electronics. Bill Gates was born on October
28, 1955 and always had a vision for programming at a young age. At the age of 12, he was exposed to computers. Gates and his friends on some
days would skip class to use the computers. If the mothers of Lakeside didn't use the money towards computers, Gates today would not have been

Personal Narrative Essay: Bullying And Committeed Suicide
Bullying
On the news this nine–year old Jackson Grubb committed suicide because he was getting bullied in school. That's just the beginning of the story we
will find out how he committed suicide at the end of the story. Jackson was getting bullied in school. Jackson lived in Raleigh county, West Virginia
with his older sister and parents. His parents were devastated when their daughter found him dead one day after school in their back yard. This was
going on far too long in school, but you also got to think that he did not tell anyone and if he did who ever he told did not listen. So Jackson thought
that if he committed suicide that the bullies would forget all about him. My question is, Why does everyone almost gets bullied and commits suicide?

kindergarten–third grade. I remember in the last year of third grade I switched schools I went from Lakeside Elementary to Conner Street
Elementary that was in fourth grade. I do not remember her last name but I do remember her first name her name was Abigail. The day I first met
her we were friends I said were now all I remember is that her and her friends have bullied me so one day while we were playing on the playground
I told Mrs. Gibson she told her to stop it. Jackson had that choice but he choose not to tell any one so he hung himself that day when he came home

As a Boy Scout, and now Eagle Scout, community service has always been part of my life. Helping people is always something I enjoy, so I've

of old houses and sheds for the town. The townspeople were always happy for the help, and love the work we'd do for them. Eventually, our projects
started to get bigger and bigger. We'd build more steady bridges, plant beautiful gardens for schools, and help repaint a falling–down section of a park.
Most of these were lead by potential eagle scouts, who needed to lead a service project to take the final steps to become an Eagle. I helped out with

Lakeside's counselors have voiced they often have more caseloads then they can manage. With only 6 school guidance counselors, the student to
counselor ratio is about 300 students to 1 counselor. CHS counselors are regularly left to take care of changes in student's curriculum, college
preparation, addressing those with absences or when fights break out, not those who may warrant additional counseling. Priorities such as time and
support are not there for those who may not need the intensity of the Lakeside support counselors but rather a connection and an awareness of the
potential concerns.
Another theme that is prominent at CHS is stigma. The Lakeside's counselors shared that they experienced much difficulty in having their students
keep appointments due to the stigma involved with mental health. The school nurse has also expressed that she often sees students that may exhibit
symptoms of anxiety, depression, or ADHD that have gone unnoticed or not made a priority. She also mentioned that if everyone used the same

students and already have an existing connection with them. The

Physical Layouts At Lakeside Middle School Essay
Introduction Large yellow school busses lining the streets, school parking lots filled with employee cars, and students walking to school with loaded
backpacks; all signs that school is in session. With the excitement of motivated students filling the classrooms and sounds of young chatter in the
hallways, it is almost impossible to think that anything could go wrong during the school year. However, in no time, a student is on the ground with a
large gash down their leg and a broken arm. It was not clumsiness or mischief, it was the uneven blacktop that has been cracked for the past four
years. This scenario could be an occurrence at many sites, however, with proper procedure, and maintenance, possible cases of negligence can be
avoided. At Lakeside Middle School, the administration and custodian personnel conduct walkthroughs on a regular basis, yet there are still possible
cases of negligence lurking in the realm.

Malcolm Gladwell Outliers The Story Of Success Summary
In "Outliers: The Story of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell an interesting point is made, this point is "if you work hard and assert yourself, and use
your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to you desires" (Gladwell 151).This is true in many of the stories told in the book "Outliers: The
Story of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell several famous people are talked about such as, The Beatles, Bill Gates. But in this book several studies on
education, parenting, and psychology are cited. We also learn that there are many differences between what others may consider to be success, and
what Malcolm Gladwell considers success.
I would like to begin by discussing Bill Gates the founder of Microsoft. What opportunities allowed him to build a company worth billions of
dollars? How did he learn so much about how computers? Did he have any advantages over other students at school? In the chapter "The 10,000
Rule" it is stated that "The idea that excellence at preforming a complex task requires a minimum level of practices surfaces again and in studies of
expertise. In fact, researchers have settled on what they believe is the magic number for true success: ten thousand hours" (Gladwell 39 – 40). It takes
this long because "It seems that it takes the brain that long to assimilate all that it needs to achieve true mastery" (Gladwell 40). So where did Bill
Gates get his ten thousand hours of experience before building Microsoft. Well the answer is "Lakeside, a private that catered

III. Pros of Rural public schools
A.Rural public schools are able to implement individualized instruction programs to their schools, which allow students to have more one on one
attention from their teacher.
B.Steiner (1971) discovered that individualized instruction will help the students because, "Students will have a new relationship with teachers. The
teacher will become a helper, friend and counselor rather than a threat" (p. 372).
C.Individualized instruction will not only benefit the student that it will also benefit the teacher because, "Teachers will acquire new skills; they will
learn to diagnose, to help students learn how to learn, to take the student where he is and to teach him" (Steiner, F., 1971, p. 372).
D.Rural public schools has a lot to offer with it 's technique of teaching despite their lack of funding. Suburban public schools, like rural, have their
own set of unique pros and cons.
IV. Cons of suburban
A.Students in suburban public schools see racial educational problems compared to other schools.
B.A study was conducted at Lakeside High and discovered racial break in their school system. Diamond (2006) found that at Lakeside High African
American students received, "lower GPAs, do not perform as well on standardized tests, and are less likely to be found in honors and advanced

My Grandmother Symbolism
My Symbol of Success
Growing up, my grandmother always said "failure is a bruise not a tattoo". Joy was born on June 4, 1950 and worked hard every day. My
Grandmother is a symbol of everything I could ever dream of being. She represents strength, perseverance, and kindness.
My grandmother had to exhibit strength her entire life. When she was a little girl her family was very poor. She had to walk almost two miles to school
and back every day. Her family could only afford to buy her one school dress that she wore back and forth to school every day. Joy's parents struggled
to put food on the table. Her mother was a book keeper and her father was a delivery worker for Bordens Dairy. Unfortunately, at the early age of 16,
her parents were killed in a fatal car accident leaving her and her six brothers and sisters orphaned. My grandmother was forced to drop out of high
school to make a living for her siblings. She was hired as a full–time cashier at Lakeside Grocer. Somehow, she scraped enough money up to buy an
old, beat up, town car to ensure her siblings got a proper education and had a reliable way to get to school. At the age of nineteen, she was walking
down the isle to marry a police officer who promised to support her and her siblings. Things went south quickly and the relationship soon became
toxic. The man she had married constantly beat her and cheated on her. After my dad was born, the divorce papers were signed and it was finally all
over.

Personal Narrative: My 5th Grade In Elementary School
Throughout elementary school, 4th grade – 6th grade was a very eventful one. I was a troubled kid through these years, I was constantly getting
written up or getting a punishment. I actually don't know how I passed, I was always being smart to the the teacher or talking while the teacher
was talking. I got plenty of Saturday schools, which is where you have to come to school early Saturday morning and stay for several hours.
Eventually, I got my first suspension in 5th grade in Mis.Hammer's class. I always remembering seeing the older kids that were a grade ahead, I
knew a lot of them from the park I lived in. I remember being in Ms.Cholkas art class. We were working on our artwork, and the class was always

It eventually turned into a huge glitter fight between me and Kenzie Edwards. After the class was over, all of us kids were walking around the

entire art room. In 5th grade, Mis.Hammer and I always got into it. I would be talking in class and she would just stare at me, then I would be like
"Why you staring at me .?" . This was a daily event, we had cards that we "flipped" to represent our discipline level. They ranged from green to
eventually red. I was always on red, almost everyday. It got so bad one day, that I eventually got suspended (for my first time). I was scared to tell
my parents. They gave me a letter to "give my parents" saying that I couldn't return for a day. They gave it to me half way through that school day, so
of course I look at it. When I got home, I didn't give them the letter and they never found out that I got suspended. At the time, I lived in Mt.Orab, so
my mom drove me to my dad's in the mornings (at lakeside estates).

The Importance Of Still Life

so I will be explaining the significants of the items and why it made me the person I am today. At an early age, with the help of my family, I

Analysis of Bluewater Shopping Centre
1,Bluewater Shopping Centre, based in Greenhithe, Kent, is used by many people on a daily basis to get their everyday needs and presents for their
loved ones. It is 150,000m2 containing 330 UK and international brands and 50 restaurants and bars. It also has 13,000 parking spaces surrounding it
with 20 hectares of parkland and 7 lakes, so is not like any other shopping centre in England. (Bluewater, 2008) Below; (BBC/Lion TV, Telegraph,

2,The idea of Bluewater was developed in 1994 when quarry operator Blue Circle approached Lend Lease to form a partnership. Construction then
started on May 1st 1996 and when it opened on March 16th 1999 its total cost was approximately ВЈ400 million. Bluewater was designed to be

4b,Another way that technology can have an impact on technology is with the technology that is becoming the new phase in the United States. For
example virtual greeters are lately being assessed in the customer market to see how customers respond which if well will soon be brought to the UK.
Virtual greeters are said to be a lot cheaper to run than to pay employees which is obviously attracting the business owners as they believe they will
save money and make more profit. Another technology that is being tested is the advice–giving mirrors; these can be used by makeup stools, clothes
stores and other personal grooming stores. The mirror will save companies having to pay employees to give customers advice as the mirror will do
it. A bonus of the mirrors is that a customer can simply hold an outfit up to the mirror and the mirror will suggest accessories to go with the outfit,
although when the mirror is not being used by customers the retailers can play advertisements or videos via the mirror. Another technology that is
going to affect Bluewater is touch screens; these can be put into stores for customers to compare different products that are in store without having to
search the store itself. This product will be mostly found in phone stores and retailers that sell more than one brand of the same product, for example
Boots or Superdrug with makeup. (Girard, L,

They examine that person's business and looks for the "lucky" breaks, or inheritance they think that successful entrepreneur received.
2. The copycat entrepreneur
This entrepreneur sees the success of others and tries to copy them exactly. Their website is the same, their business cards are the same, and the way
they present themself is the carbon copy of a leader in their industry
3. The research entrepreneur
This entrepreneur loves to learn. They research every possible scenario and outcome for strategies to start or grow a business. There is nothing wrong
with learning, but when that's all you do, it becomes a problem. The research ends up becoming an excuse for not taking action
4. The determined entrepreneur
This entrepreneur hasn't "made it" but they will, no matter what. They see the value in entrepreneurship, they see that success is possible without
copying, and they do everything they can to start or grow their business.
5. The accomplished entrepreneur

Research Simulation: Census Data Part I: According to a 2013 census of Hot Springs, Arkansas, the demographics compared to San Diego City,
California varied substantially. In education, 84.1% of people were a high school graduate or higher, while in San Diego City it was 87%.
Kindergarteners in public school in Hot Springs were up to 97.6% in public schools and 2.4% in private schools, while San Diego City's public
school was only 90.5% and private school was 9.5%. Financial Characteristics on household incomes of $75,000–$99,000 of owned houses in Hot

Because San Diego City is in the West Coast area, I believe that plays a big role in these numbers. Education wise, I think the reason there is a
higher number of private schooled kids is because of the area they live in, with it being more upscale and Hollywood type and how society there is
different compared to a more humble place like Hot Springs. Housing in San Diego City is more extravagant and expensive because of the area it's
in, while in Hot Springs, the housing numbers were almost half of San Diego's. The most surprising factor of the census was the amount of veterans
and the fact that there were almost 94,000 veterans living there. Both of these communities play big parts in evoking social change, because of the
area they're located in and the fact that both of them are extremely popular tourist attractions. While San Diego City is a larger and more
demographically diverse than Hot Springs is, they both are very

Learning And Transformation Of Learners
From the figure above in 2007–2011, 359,047 male children left school, higher than 1997–2000 with only 60,267 boys who left. Female children out of

need of added value and quality attractive for learning and transformation of learners. When it comes to poverty experience during an educational

to the area from Stamford, Conn., and founded the Town of Merrick. They were drawn by the fertile soil and the Meadow Brook– then a wide

engine running for couples of hours until my husband came home and everything was perfectly fine. The lecture that followed after it is another story.
Another characteristic of Merrick is the fact that a large majority of its residents choose to grow their families in a town where they spent their

fields run by the Town of Hempstead are nearby, as are a swimming pool and indoor ice rink run by Nassau County. There are four synagogues in town

and a newly completed Greek Orthodox Church topped by a copper dome. In 2004 me and my husband decided to buy a house. We were living in

William Gates Research Paper
(1) William Gates was born on October 28, 1955, in Seattle, Washington. Gates' father was a lawyer, and his mother served on the board of

younger sister was Libby. He was the fourth of his name in his family, but he was really known as William Gates III. His family encouraged
competition very much, but no matter what, there was always a reward for winning and losing. At 13, he enrolled in a private school called Lakeside
School. One of the systems was a PDP–10 which belonged to Computer Center Corporation (CCC), which banned four Lakeside students – Gates, Paul
Allen, Ric Weiland, and Kevin Evans– for hacking the computers. The four students offered to find bugs for the CCC's software for computer time.
The deal with the CCC continued until 1970, when the company went out of business. Gates graduated from Lakeside School in 1973 and was a

The Essentials Of A Good Education By Diane Ravitch
The Essentials of a Good Education by Diane Ravitch is about the argument on the importance of mathematics and literature. One side argues that
students can be successful in life with test proficient in only mathematics and literature; while, the other side claims that mathematics and literature are
important, but are not enough for one to find what they are good at. While both sides have a point, I am going to analyze the both sides of the

from those so that we can all find our own passion. The issue is that it is believed that only the subjects of mathematics and reading are important to

INTRODUCTION PURPOSE AND ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A seminal study recently commissioned by a government Committee of Teacher Education Policy (COTEP), the so–called National Teacher Education
Audit (henceforth referred to as the Audit), reported that there is an over–supply of teachers in some school subjects (e.g. Biblical Studies) and an
under–supply in other subjects (e.g. Science and Mathematics). These findings seem to corroborate widespread news reports that new teachers are not
finding employment. The apparent contradiction between supply and demand alluded to above raIses important questions regarding the employment
of teachers. Is there, in fact, an oversupply of teachers? Do teacher education graduates find employment in teaching? Do Science and Mathematics
teacher education graduates, in fact, fill positions in these assumed critical areas? To address these and related questions, a study was designed to track
a cohort of new teachers with the goal of ascertaining their employment status in the years immediately following their graduation. ,The study used a
longitudinal tracer study design to trace the 1995 cohort of teacher graduates of the Faculty of Education, University of Durban–Westville. Data were
collected at three different periods: at graduation (July 1996), at the end of the school year (December 1996), and at the beginning of the new school
year (January 1997). Survey questionnaires were used for the collection of data from students, while

Personal Narrative: School At St. Catherine
Past
School at St. Catherine began in preschool. When I was in preschool my best friends were Shelby and Justine. We all began playing violin together
at Mrs. Miller's studio. Justine used to be a very quiet person, but for some reason I knew exactly how she was feeling or wanting to say. Us three
had a lot in common: violin, dress up, and humor. Soon enough preschool was over and here came our elementary school days. Everyone met many
people in kindergarten. Many will be my friends throughout high school and beyond. Kindergarten was filled with arts and crafts, my portfolio, 2008
handprints, and stamped tee shirts. Suddenly kindergarten graduation was here, everyone was paired up and danced with a partner. First grade
flew by and then came second grade with Ms. Foisy and Ms. Okabioshi. Ms. Okabioshi was one of the best teacher assistance we have ever had.
Third and fourth grade with Mrs. Schuler and Ms. Ittes. These years were filled with warm fuzzies, a lot of reading and writing, and a lot of fun
playing on the playground. The class watched Shilo and everyone hated the evil father. After that came fifth grade with Mr. Sifferman, also known as
Millie's cousin, he gave the hardest tests we have ever taken, but the most fun and memorable times we have had. After that year many people changed

A Holistic Approach to Educating Children

  • 1. A Holistic Mode Of Educating Children According to participants shared experience, I got the notion that children go to parents' will to let not their children in school, they would willingly be happy to let them home without education. The challenge is that apart from poverty, which force them to trick teachers with claims to let their children out of school, they do not see the value of education. The high cost of education, poverty, and lack of employment after graduation force parents to make claims and decisions about the fate of education for their children. This view of education make me to insist what I stated previously in this dissertation a holistic mode of educating children and make it compelling to children and parents beyond education completion. This lack of motive and value to education among parents make me think is the reason for parents in rural areas reluctant to demand a better education for their children. I realized there is a problem, but they see it as normal part of life. It reminded me what I saw, when I was on my way from Musoma to Serengeti. I saw students from one of the schools carrying heavy loads of white bags on their heads in groups walking to school. It was class time. Each morning where I stayed I could see children with buckets of water on their heads, fire woods, hoes, cups and plates rushing to school in the morning. When I asked about buckets of water, they told me students need to bring water to school for their porridge. I spontaneously reacted without saying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Education and America Are Teachers Responsible? In his article "Kenneth Cole Gets Schooled" David Sirota writes, "Taking an honest look at America's education system brings up queries about why other less economically stratified nations have unionized teachers and far better academic results than here in America (761)" Students in other countries such as Korea, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, and Canada have far better academic results than those in America, yet the teachers are not the one who need to be accepting all the blame for the failing academic standards. I am an elementary education major and have grown up as a teacher's kid and have always found this statement and fact somewhat interesting. Now attending college I understand this statement, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In some countries throughout the world kids are put on tracks dependent upon their careers; some get to go further in the education system than others. Often times these career tracks are ones chosen for them based upon the family they were born into and their parents wealth and educational knowledge. Some countries even do inventory tests in order to place students on a track and decide if they get to continue in education or if they are required to go straight into the work force. One point Carlos Xabel Lastra–AnadГіn and Paul E. Peterson bring up in their article is that while we need to learn from countries such as Korea, Finland, Japan, the Netherlands, and Canada we must not copy exactly what they are doing but more so do what is best for our educational system (1.) I agree with the point they have made, I do not believe we should implement all of the educational ideas these countries have. I believe this because like America's educational system their systems have flaws as well. But instead we should learn from their mistakes and apply and implement them into our own system as needed. In doing this step I believe we can make our educational system more successful and proficient in comparison with these countries. Furthermore, I think in America the freedom and availability we have here in America has allowed us as students to become ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Medical Mentorship Personal Statement When I first came across the Medical Mentorship Program, I couldn't believe what I was reading. I had finally found a program available to high school students that allows them to shadow physicians, be mentored, and most importantly, embodies volunteerism! After hours of research to find shadowing opportunities, the Medical Mentorship Program was an absolute answered prayer. I'm applying so I can be taught from a willing health professional who not only cares about their own job, but about inspiring and instructing youth. That in itself speaks a lot about the program and the Woodlands & Lakeside Hospitals. This opportunity will give me an in depth perspective into the medical field, and I believe will push me even further to live... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mr. Zhao taught about the human body with such zeal and overwhelming passion, it encompassed me from day one. Though I had already planned on a being a pediatrician because I loved to care for kids, Mr. Zhao made actual medicine in relation to the human body another aspect of a health career to explore and love. You're probably thinking, "Well yeah, you can't just like people in the healthcare industry", yet patient care, compassion, and sympathy play a definitive role in such a field. I've witnessed these elements of healthcare first–hand volunteering at Texas Children's Hospital. I volunteered during the summer and do so now during the school year. To explain briefly, spending the entire summer around the kids, staff, nurses, doctors, and hospital administration, I could see everyone there loved their jobs, appreciated their coworkers, and most importantly, valued the patients and their families. That's just the beginning of the story we will find out how he committed suicide at the end of the story. Jackson was getting bullied in school. Jackson lived in Raleigh county, West Virginia with his older sister and parents. His parents were devastated when their daughter found him dead one day after school in their back yard. This was going on far too long in school, but you also got to think that he did not tell anyone and if he did who ever he told did not listen. So Jackson thought that if he committed suicide that the bullies would forget all about him. My question is, Why does everyone almost gets bullied and commits suicide? • 14. Physical Layouts At Lakeside Middle School Essay Introduction Large yellow school busses lining the streets, school parking lots filled with employee cars, and students walking to school with loaded backpacks; all signs that school is in session. With the excitement of motivated students filling the classrooms and sounds of young chatter in the hallways, it is almost impossible to think that anything could go wrong during the school year. However, in no time, a student is on the ground with a large gash down their leg and a broken arm. It was not clumsiness or mischief, it was the uneven blacktop that has been cracked for the past four years. This scenario could be an occurrence at many sites, however, with proper procedure, and maintenance, possible cases of negligence can be avoided. At Lakeside Middle School, the administration and custodian personnel conduct walkthroughs on a regular basis, yet there are still possible cases of negligence lurking in the realm. • 15. Malcolm Gladwell Outliers The Story Of Success Summary In "Outliers: The Story of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell an interesting point is made, this point is "if you work hard and assert yourself, and use your mind and imagination, you can shape the world to you desires" (Gladwell 151).This is true in many of the stories told in the book "Outliers: The Story of Success" by Malcolm Gladwell several famous people are talked about such as, The Beatles, Bill Gates. But in this book several studies on education, parenting, and psychology are cited. We also learn that there are many differences between what others may consider to be success, and what Malcolm Gladwell considers success. I would like to begin by discussing Bill Gates the founder of Microsoft. What opportunities allowed him to build a company worth billions of dollars? How did he learn so much about how computers? Did he have any advantages over other students at school? In the chapter "The 10,000 Rule" it is stated that "The idea that excellence at preforming a complex task requires a minimum level of practices surfaces again and in studies of expertise. In fact, researchers have settled on what they believe is the magic number for true success: ten thousand hours" (Gladwell 39 – 40). It takes this long because "It seems that it takes the brain that long to assimilate all that it needs to achieve true mastery" (Gladwell 40). So where did Bill Gates get his ten thousand hours of experience before building Microsoft. Well the answer is "Lakeside, a private that catered ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

My Grandmother is a symbol of everything I could ever dream of being. She represents strength, perseverance, and kindness. My grandmother had to exhibit strength her entire life. When she was a little girl her family was very poor. She had to walk almost two miles to school and back every day. Her family could only afford to buy her one school dress that she wore back and forth to school every day. Joy's parents struggled to put food on the table. Her mother was a book keeper and her father was a delivery worker for Bordens Dairy. Unfortunately, at the early age of 16, her parents were killed in a fatal car accident leaving her and her six brothers and sisters orphaned. My grandmother was forced to drop out of high school to make a living for her siblings. She was hired as a full–time cashier at Lakeside Grocer. Somehow, she scraped enough money up to buy an old, beat up, town car to ensure her siblings got a proper education and had a reliable way to get to school. At the age of nineteen, she was walking down the isle to marry a police officer who promised to support her and her siblings. Things went south quickly and the relationship soon became toxic. The man she had married constantly beat her and cheated on her. After my dad was born, the divorce papers were signed and it was finally all over. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Virtual greeters are said to be a lot cheaper to run than to pay employees which is obviously attracting the business owners as they believe they will save money and make more profit. Another technology that is being tested is the advice–giving mirrors; these can be used by makeup stools, clothes stores and other personal grooming stores. The mirror will save companies having to pay employees to give customers advice as the mirror will do it. A bonus of the mirrors is that a customer can simply hold an outfit up to the mirror and the mirror will suggest accessories to go with the outfit, although when the mirror is not being used by customers the retailers can play advertisements or videos via the mirror. Another technology that is going to affect Bluewater is touch screens; these can be put into stores for customers to compare different products that are in store without having to search the store itself. A seminal study recently commissioned by a government Committee of Teacher Education Policy (COTEP), the so–called National Teacher Education Audit (henceforth referred to as the Audit), reported that there is an over–supply of teachers in some school subjects (e.g. Biblical Studies) and an under–supply in other subjects (e.g. Science and Mathematics). These findings seem to corroborate widespread news reports that new teachers are not finding employment. The apparent contradiction between supply and demand alluded to above raIses important questions regarding the employment of teachers. Is there, in fact, an oversupply of teachers? Do teacher education graduates find employment in teaching? Do Science and Mathematics teacher education graduates, in fact, fill positions in these assumed critical areas? To address these and related questions, a study was designed to track a cohort of new teachers with the goal of ascertaining their employment status in the years immediately following their graduation. ,The study used a longitudinal tracer study design to trace the 1995 cohort of teacher graduates of the Faculty of Education, University of Durban–Westville. Data were collected at three different periods: at graduation (July 1996), at the end of the school year (December 1996), and at the beginning of the new school year (January 1997). Survey questionnaires were used for the collection of data from students, while ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Personal Narrative: School At St. Catherine Past School at St. Catherine began in preschool. When I was in preschool my best friends were Shelby and Justine. We all began playing violin together at Mrs. Miller's studio. Justine used to be a very quiet person, but for some reason I knew exactly how she was feeling or wanting to say. Us three had a lot in common: violin, dress up, and humor. Soon enough preschool was over and here came our elementary school days. Everyone met many people in kindergarten. Many will be my friends throughout high school and beyond. Kindergarten was filled with arts and crafts, my portfolio, 2008 handprints, and stamped tee shirts. Suddenly kindergarten graduation was here, everyone was paired up and danced with a partner. First grade flew by and then came second grade with Ms. Foisy and Ms. Okabioshi. Ms. Okabioshi was one of the best teacher assistance we have ever had. Third and fourth grade with Mrs. Schuler and Ms. Ittes. These years were filled with warm fuzzies, a lot of reading and writing, and a lot of fun playing on the playground. The class watched Shilo and everyone hated the evil father. After that came fifth grade with Mr. Sifferman, also known as Millie's cousin, he gave the hardest tests we have ever taken, but the most fun and memorable times we have had. After that year many people changed schools, I moved to California. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Livie, Justine and Mary, Shelby, and Olivia all came to California to visit. Research and experimentation have been a primary interest of mine because it expands my understanding of the subject. I am highly interested in the science field because of the possibilities and unknowns that are still present and how much more can be discovered. I also enjoy research because it gives me a way of making a difference in the world and can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Personal Narrative: My First Job Three years ago, I got my first real job. At fifteen years old, I was a residential site staff, housekeeper, and kitchen staff at Camp Lakeside in Scott City, Kansas. With this new chapter in my life came great responsibilities. Not only would I be working long and hard hours, but I would also be living in the staff house away from my family. On top of these changes, I had just recently taken out a loan to purchase my first car. The two and a half months I got to spend as site staff that summer opened my eyes to what the world is going to be like after school. Every teenager has high expectations for what their first job will be like. Maybe they expect a high rate of pay or only a few responsibilities, but my job was the exact opposite. For ... • 42. Personal Narrative: My First Two Different Schools In... The first four years of elementary, I attending two different schools in Eudora, Arkansas where I live. The first school I attending was Eudora G.C. Johns Elementary School. I think I was at that school for half of my kindergarten year before it was shut down & we relocated to Eudora High School for lower elementary kids. The Eudora High School students were then transferred to Lakeside High School to further their education & to graduate. The Eudora School District & Lakeside School District had combined. Therefore when we were done with our Third grade year we had to go to Lakeside to finish Fourth grade through Twelfth grade. Which was a dramatic change, I was new there but I wasn't alone. My cousin Makiya went to that school, we grew up ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
