balance of insights into both physical and mental well-being. The challenge lies not only in
presenting factual information but also in weaving a narrative that engages the reader and
emphasizes the intricate connection between mental and physical health.
To start, one must delve into the realms of psychology and medicine to understand the intricate

Ir A Nuclear Power And Producing Atomic Bombs
Around 2003, the hidden Iranian plan of becoming a nuclear power and producing
atomic bombs was revealed by a major opposition group: Mojahadeen. The U.S and
other Western countries have been seriously discussing this matter with Iranian
authorities after they verified the validity of the news. Iran has undergone billions
dollars in expenses, in attempts to gain nuclear power. Generally, the main sanctions
are divided into four different groups: U.S sanctions (Executive Order), European
sanctions, UN sanctions, and sanctions imposed by the U.S congress. During the
beginning years, the effect rate of sanctions weren t very high until sanctions were
imposed on Irans oil/energy sector and the banking system (Slavin, 2007). When the
Iranian revolutiontook place is 1979, Iranian civilians were in search for a better life
which would bring them more political freedom, which at the time, they were
lacking. The revolution, attempting to overthrow Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi
occurred and not only were Iranian civilians striped of their political freedom, but
they were stripped of their other rights and privileges as well. The new ideological
theocratic government betrayed the hopes and dreams of civilians of having a better
democratic life and instead set up a theocratic dictatorship that affect Iranians until
this day. Relations between the United States and Iran has changed drastically ever
since the Pahlavi Dynasty. At one point, prior to 1979, America and Iran were

where Dacca was located, was fighting for autonomy from the ruling regime in the

Characteristics Of Somerset Maugham s Writing Style
William Somerset Maugham was considered to be the popular English fiction writer
of the 20th century. He wrote many novels, plays and short stories, many of those
were admired as master pieces. It drew attention of the critics and readers due to its
multi dimensional aspects, which offered entertainment including the serious issues
of human life, for that matter it resulted in being popular fictionof the time.
His popularity urged many critics to analyze his work from different dimensions.
The critics discussed his works with the advantage to explore the qualities of
writer as well as to point out the flaws of his work. The critics discovered many
themes along with stylistic features of his novels in plays and short stories.
Maugham has produced a large number of fictional works and it seems impossible
to bring in all the reviews of his works. The literature review is generally based on
critic s opinion on his writing style and themes; it particularly talks about those

The simplicity as a common trait in all of his works, had influence on his readers
and critics. Swinnerton admires him as a true story teller due to his plain and
modest writing style. Maugham wrote for the writing s sake, he neither interfered
in political matters nor he struggled to be the guardian of society (19). Jack Collins
examined similar characteristic in Maugham s style. He justifies popularity of
Maugham as a writer by providing two reasons: firstly, he has the capability to
create a plot which is direct, it goes on with linear clarity that no one can find
obscurity in the plot. Secondly, his quality to develop the dramatic intensity has
remarkable effects on the story that it turns the characters into demonic forces (16).
This intensity in his works attracts the readers to pay honest attention while reading.
His works are the satisfaction of those people who like to get on with the story

Crohn s Disease Reflection
Three years ago when I was first diagnosed with Crohn s Disease, I could not even
begin to comprehend how big of an impact it would have on my life. Sitting in my
hospital bed and hearing a doctor say that I had a life long, chronic illness was
immeasurable for a fifteen year old who had just finished her freshman year. Through
all of the rough patches and bumps along the way, I wouldn t change anything. With
my diagnosis of Crohn s Disease, I have been impacted in insurmountable ways, both
for the worse and also for the better. I would not be the person that I am today if it
was not for my diagnosis, and my future looks brighter than ever before because of
the impact my disease has had on my life.
As a high school freshman, you expect school to be like the movies. Going to
football games and homecoming dances, going out on weekends and having a
memorable year, but when a debilitating pain starts to affect every part of your day,
that high school fantasy turns into a high school nightmare. High school was no

Aptamil Marketing Environment Analysis

which Apamil Nutrition baby formula operates. Furthermore, to distinguish a target
market for the Follow on Formula and also regulate how the offer is positioned in
the Australian market. Aptamil Nutrition is a New Zealand baby formula company,
that originates from a small family business established in 1921 in Friedrichsdorf,
Germany. Aptamil has developed as a world pioneer in Infant Nutrition (About Us,
2017). The follow on formula, produces a milk for 6 12 months, it has three
different kinds of offering such as Profutura 2 and Gold+2. The price range of

populace in terms of age, gender, education, income, occupation, household size
and other statistic factors. (Naseri, M. B., Elliott, G. 2011). The age structure of a
nation can affect the Aptamil follow on formula in appropriating their goods. If a

positive impact on the market for baby formula. Moreover, according to

The first pendulum clocks had a width of range 100 degrees and analysts wanted to
increase that range but Huygens showed that increasing the range of pendulum

with small range of swing of a few degrees are isochronous. The Second Pendulum

Plainchant Compare And Contrast
The plainchants Viderunt Omnes by Anonymous and O viridissima virga by
Hildegard of Bingen are both compositions that were created during the Medieval
Age, also known as the Middle Age. The purpose of these pieces were to be served
usually in Roman Catholic Churches as music of worship. Although these two songs
are known as plainchants, meaning they are usually monophonic and the melody
usually does not change, both pieces have many similarities and differences. In my
personal opinion, I believe that these two piece are more different than they are
similar. For example, Viderunt Omnes is polyphonic for a majority of its duration
because it sounds to be sung in unison by a choir and not by a singular person. O
viridissima virga on the other
Compare And Contrast Democratic Party And Republican
Party
The two major political parties in the United States of America are the Democratic
party and the Republican party. Both have mostly differing views as Democrats tend
to be liberal and Republicans tend to be conservative. Democrats, usually, believe in
the inherent good of humankind while Republicans tend to believe human nature is
not inherently so pure. The two parties also have different opinions on the role of the
government; Republicans believe the government is there to protect the peoples
rights and Democrats believe the government should have a strong role. Another
important topic to cover is the American s rights versus responsibilities. Democrats
tend to believe we are guaranteed more rights than given responsibilities and
Republicans believe the opposite. With all this in mind, which party has a more
ethical and correct platform?
The democratic party s platform states cooperation is better than conflict, unity is
better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better
than walls. Democrats believe in removing barriers and creating opportunities.
One way this can be accomplished is by ending systematic racism; this can be done
by pushing for social reform, removing the Confederate flag from public property
as it is a racist symbol and by closing the racial pay and wealth gap. Another reform
the democrat will push for is the criminal justice system. Privatized prisons and
detention centers need to be ended as well as change for
Factors Affecting Juror Behavior Towards Perpetrators
and...
Our current study examines juror behaviour towards perpetrators and victims in a
criminal trial setting. Taken into account, are two factors hypothesized to influence
the judicial outcome of criminal trials in Canada and the United States. Primarily,
that a juror s level of belief in a just world (BJW) influences his or her decisions
towards both the perpetrator and victim, with those jurors measuring higher in BJW
being more apt to blame the victim for his or her own misfortune. Second, that the
relationship between BJW and the victim blamingbehaviour of the juror is mediated
by whether the victim is portrayed as innocent, having done nothing to deserve
victimization; or portrayed as non innocent, having contributed to their own
misfortune through careless or immoral behaviour. We analyzed data for main effects
of both BJW and victim type on outcome variables perpetrator sentencing and victim
monetary compensation. Data was further analyzed for possible interaction effects
between BJW and victim type using multiple regression analysis, retaining the
continuous characteristic of the BJW predictor variable. Results revealed no
significant interaction effects or main effectof BJW on either dependent variable,
however, a significant main effect of victim type was observed.
It is not uncommon for people in unfortunate situations to be cited as the source of
their own troubles. If someone has been mugged walking home, they must have

Why Marijuana Should Not Be Legal Substance
A survey was taken of the general population who use a major substance, and 6.6
percent of these people reported to have used marijuana in the past month. There are
many reasons floating around on why marijuana should not be a legal substance.
Many people think that marijuana would alter the crime rates in the U.S since it is
illegal to own or consume. The flip side to the crimes and the enforcing is that it gets
expensive. So with the legalization of marijuana those costs would disappear and the
taximposed on to the drug would drive the economy up. Society would be ecstatic
that the economy would begin to recover but there is still speculation that the drug
would be abused. Since the drug would be such widely available that the prices...

This means that legalizing marijuana will do no significant effect to the crime rates
regarding controlled substances. A survey by the Bureau of Justice Statistics
showed that 0.7% of all state inmates were in jail for marijuana possession
solemnly. Many of the inmates in prison for marijuana are behind bars for plead
down from more serious crimes.Marijuana arrests are mostly misdemeanors and so
are not as expensive, on average, as other types of arrests.Criminal organizations
that profit from drug distribution, human trafficking, and other crimes only get a
certain amount from marijuana, which makes it so that these organizations will not
stop just from the legalization of marijuana. Taxes will not make enough money in
order to help the economy in any which way. In 2007 the federal government
collected a total of around $9 billion. The states themselves collected around $5.5
billion together. This less than 10 percent to the 187 billion dollars spent on alcohol
related costs in health care, criminal justice, and the workplace in lost productivity.
At a weighted average price of marijuana treatment of $575, this would result in a
$1.5 million increase in total spending on treatment, of which perhaps $1 million
would fall on the taxpayer. On average, each year,Americans spend more than $200
billion on the social costs of smoking, but only about $25 billion is collected in taxes.

Bipedal Locomotion in Early Hominids Essay
Bipedal Locomotion in Early Hominids
Until recently, the oldest fossil species to provide evidence for bipedalism was
Australopithecus afarensis, of which the best example of is the 3.2 million year old
skeleton called Lucy found in Hadar, Ethiopia. According to article 19: Sunset at the
Savanna, in 1995 Meave Leakey of the national Museums of Kenya and her
colleagues made public the discovery of and older hominid species Australopithecus
anamensis (getting its name from the Turkana word for lake anam having been
found near lake Turkana and the site of another ancient lake). Leakey s team found a
tibia from this creature that is quite human like and emphatically bipedal, in size and
practically all details of the knee and ankle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

We learned in lab last week that the pelvis has features that indicate the mode of
locomotion. A bipedal creature will have an ilium that is short and wide. The leg
bones will give clues too. A bipedal creature has knees that point more directly
forward than a quadrapedal creature (this is why apes look very awkward when they
walk bipedally, their legs kick out to the side when they step forward.) Another
skeletal feature that indicates bipedalism is a special design of the anklebones so that
they would be able to take the weight of a bipedal stride. The knee bone of a
bipedal hominid has a special feature too. It has extra spongy bone tissue that acts as
a shock absorber when walking. One feature mentioned in article 20 is a oval hollow
at the bottom of the humerus where the humerus and the ulna lock in place. This is
an adaptation to knuckle walking and is not present in bipedal hominids.
Many theories have been made about what type of paleoecology or
paleoecological changes were the niche for bipedalism. It must have been a strong
force since bipedaliam is generally slower and more awkward than quadrapedal
locomotion. It also puts the animal at a greater risk of injury, according to Owen
Lovejoy of Kent State. The current most widely accepted theory is that there was a
continent wide drying up of Africa starting around 5mya. This caused shrinkage of
the large forests to
Maya Angelou s Phenomenal Woman
Attractive personality is much more powerful than attractive genetics or any ability
to fill in an impossible (Kotyakov). Every woman can relate to the poem Phenomenal
woman , written by Maya Angelou . She wants to show the world what makes her
beautiful and expresses it in various ways. Women, now put themselves down
because they do not think about their inner beauty, they only listen to what people
may say about them. The message this poem sends out to the world of stereotype is
empowerment comes from being confident in your own femaleskin. Beauty does not

Writing, Writing And Writing
Writing In biology has taught me a lot about scientific writing and just writing in
general. From this class I feel as if my writing skills have drastically improved over
the semester, making me a more proficient writer. I used to consider the task of
writing appalling and demanding as it would take me hours to complete, but now at
the conclusion of the semester that is not the case. Each project give me a new set
of valuable skills that I will be able to use far into my future career, helping me along
the way.
Journals Writings and Perfect Paragraphs
At the start of the semester I perceived of the task of writing three hours worth of
journals a week rather demanding and as if no benefit could come from such a task.
Despite this initial feeling however, I found just the contrary now that the semester
comes to an end. The journal writings forced me to revamp my overall writing style,
teaching me how to just write what comes to mind, making the process more
fluent and efficient. Prior to this change I would spend a vast amount of time
writing each sentence as I would critique and edit as I wrote. Not only do I find my
newly discovered method of writing to be more efficient but also it leads to a more
natural flow and feel in my writing. The journal writings were in my opinion very
important to my advancement to become a better writer.
Perfect paragraphs taught me a vast amount as well, as I was now forced to take
some of my roughest writing, and make it as perfect as I can

The Importance Of Cultural Differences
My upbringing is atypical compared to most white, middle class females, I would
also assume different than my classmates. What once caused me a sense a dread
now gives me a sense of pride because I have lived a life others have not. I feel I
have a better understanding of the diversity of the community than people I know.
I frankly did not need an assessment to point out my knowledge of cultural
differences as I have lived with many diverse cultures. I explain to my children that
they are at a disadvantage growing up here as there are not the cultural differences
like we had in Georgia, especially where I lived. My hometown is also the home
for one of the largest nuclear submarine bases. I was fortunate to grow up with
many diverse cultures as the Navy brings diverse backgrounds into an area. I have
explained to my children that I believe prejudices form from ignorance. Our school
assimilated the diverse cultures and brought their histories into our education. There
is a biasagainst the South being racist, and there is truth in that. I would argue,
though that here in the Northeast I have seen more prejudices from people that I
did down south. While growing up I lived with many different races, cultures,
religions, and people of different sexual orientation than mine. What I quickly
learned was that we are all the same, and the differences are just in our mind. As I
have explained to my children, prejudices are useless as people show you what they
want you to
A Sunrise On The Veld Poem Analysis
How Two Completely Different Stories Can Have So Many Similarities
The short stories, A Sunrise on the Veld and At the Pitt Rivers , have nothing in
common if you analyze them on a shallow literature level. A Sunrise on the Veld by
Doris Lessing, highlights some of the reasons why life is so valuable. Lessing hints
her readers that this short story is set somewhere in the desert by, ... the flesh of his
soles contracted on the chilled earth, and his legs began to ache with cold... He
slung the shoes over his shoulder... they would be necessary when the ground
became too hot to bear, (Lessing, pg. 1212). Most deserts get heated by the sun by
day, but loses the heat at night. The boy starts hunting, at first, but then is distracted
by a wounded buck. Seeing this buck suffer, depicts him especially sad. A boy is also
the protagonist in At the Pitt Rivers by Penelope Lively. This boy spends his time in
a museum, observing people and writing poems as the time passes. He keeps track of
a couple he sees at the museum. The couple catches his attention because they are not
his ideal of what a couple should look like. If a kindergartener read these two short
stories, he/she would find nothing in common with the stories. But, if the reader has
the ability to analyze the text in more depth, he/she would find that they are more
similar than the kindergartener would think.
As an advanced reader, a comparison that is prevalent in both stories is, society s
thinking of the ideal
The United States Involvement in the Korean War
Communism has been a global problem for decades, and has caused a wide array of
issues. The Soviet Union and China were the main Communist threats post World
War II. The Soviets were the biggest threat, without their influence, China would not
have become a Communist nation. North Korea was supported by the Soviet Union
after the Japanese lost World War II. They adopted a Communist government called
the Democratic People s Republic of Korea and was ruled under Kim Il sung. North
Koreainvaded South Korea, an authoritarian country, which drew involvement from
the United States, and in general, the United Nations. US involvement in Korea is
debatebly because of the rising threat of global Communism and the attempt of North
Korea taking South Korea.
North and South Korea hosted a raging battle that involved a lot more than just the
two countries. North Korea before 1950 was occupied by Japanese imperialists.
After the Japanese lost World War II, The Soviet Union occupied the region north of
the 38th parallel. They underwent a Communist government called the Democratic
People s Republic of Korea (North Korea Wikipedia.org 5). In June of 1950, the
poorly influenced North Korea invaded the 38th parallel into the south, starting the

A Meeting At The First Congregational Church
I went to an AA meeting at the First Congregational Church in New London,
Connecticut on Monday February 22, at 7 pm. It was located in a larger room in the
basement of the church. There were around fifteen members that attended. The
individual s came from an array of different ages and ethnicities, both men and
woman. There was no one race or ethnicity that dominated another in the meeting, it
was a very warm, accepting atmosphere. I noticed right away that there was more
young adults around the age of thirty than elderly members. There was also around
the same number of males and females in attendance. The meeting began with the
appointed leader asking if there were any new members in the group, and gave them
a chance to introduce themselves. I also introduced myself at this time, and
explained my role as a student. They then transitioned into reciting the serenity
prayer and having a moment of silence, allowing them to give thanks to their higher
power. The leader then had different individuals recite the week s motivational
phrase and reflect on the quote. The quote talked about forgiving yourself as an
alcoholic, and the concept of letting go of the guilt that they have over hurting
themselves and the people that they love when they were under the influence. This
topic was very triggering for the members, and lead them into a very power
discussion around the different people in their lives that were directly affected by
their drinking. One woman spoke about losing the
Black Theaters
Although documentation is fragmented regarding the these circuits, according to
Nadine George Graves, ... scholars... must do more investigative work than is
necessary for other topics in order to locate resource materials (xii). A Black
vaudeville evolved among other types of shows, specifically minstrel. However,
for artists of this period, it was one of the only means of upward social mobility (Dahl

were not, that is, until the Black circuits were developed for a Black audience. The

Several key jazz figures made their way through vaudeville which allowed them to
hone their craft. One of the earliest jazz musicians and orchestrators, James Reese
Europe, was an early advocate for equality through acceptance of virtuosity in music
endeavours. His orchestra backed up Vernon and Irene Castle who are known for
the fox trot and their role in the social revolution through dance (D. 167 169).
Another performer, Jelly Roll Morton, the self proclaimed inventor of jazz, once
graced the vaudeville stage as a comedic pianist (Devaux 48). Another prominent
member of the jazz community was Henry Minton, who was among the initial
generation to use the vaudeville circuit for upward social mobility (Kelley 62).
Significantly, he later established Minton s Playhouse, modernly known as a
revolutionary location in the development of bebop because of its cutting sessions
(Gourse 19). Billy Berg also got his start in Vaudeville later establishing jazz clubs
notable for the first appearance of Charlie Parker on the West Coast and used as the

Influenza Epidemic Essay
The Lord will strike with wasting disease, with fever and inflammation, with
scorching heat and drought, with blight and mildew, which will plague until death

the Great Pandemic death unfolds, before the outbreak is over, 500 million or one
third of the world s population becomes ill and about 20 30 million parish, making it
one of the worst pandemics since the writing of the earth s history . The effect of the

During these Tribulations, when a quarter of the earth is gone after the turn of the
century, the human race looks to the government to relieve them. For this, because
the origins of this influenza variant are not precisely known and most influenza
pandemics develop in the tropics of Asia then spread from there to the rest of the
world, many believe it originates in China, but the name of Spanish Flu comes
from the early affliction and large mortalities in Spain and not Asia. Scientifically,
whatever gives the 1918 virus the power to generate rapidly, leaves them in a
question about why a person who comes down with the mild flu in the beginning of
1918, can also come down with a more difficult flu the middle of 1919 that can bring
death. One thinks that the experience will drive people to their knees in repentance to
God. Instead, people find the torments of hell as a justification to blame the Scientific

many do not know why these scientists do not take into consideration the Trench
fever, mustard gas and the fleas in the Trenches for the rapid increase when

In today 21th century, the growth of a country mostly depends on the relation with

In the first part, my paper will show some background of nationality which would
have an impact on management. According to Geert Hofstede (1983), there are three
important areas included in nationality, which are political, sociological and
psychological aspects. First, political aspect can be different in each country.
Second, sociological aspect can be understood by the way people think about their
values base of belonging to one nation or region. Therefore, each person need to be
circumspect when they work with foreigners to avoid misunderstanding about their
identification, otherwise, that would trigger conflict between them. Third,
psychological aspect refers to the way people think, which was affected by their
early life experience in their family and later education experience. Thus, our
experience become mentally programmed . According to Hofstede (1983) the
definition of culture is collective mental programming . In that program, people in
the same nation or region will share their experience, understanding to other, but they
would not share these things to people of the other region or nation. Warner (1996)
also suggested that member of nation or region or group will share similar culture,
and through that culture, standards, and perspective were made, thus, they shape the
behavior of a person or a group. Moreover, culture is enduring because it was created
by learning from education, socialization, and experience passed from
Descriptive Essay On An Abandoned House
Hurry or you ll be late! called my mother from the bottom of the stairs. Today of all
days you want to be on time. If I had only known what that day would bring, I
would have stayed in bed. But one thing my mom didn t know was that my friends
and I skipped school to go look at an abandoned house. The house was also
supposedly haunted.I met up with my friends at the bus stop as usual. Once
everyone was at the bus stop, we ran as fast as we could to the abandoned house. So
we wouldn t get caughtbe the bus driver or anyone else.
Once we ran for a short amount of time we finally saw the rundown house in the
distance. Once we got a little closer we saw a brown fence blocking our path. We
walked around the fence until we found a small opening. It was just big enough for
us to get through. Once we all got through the fence we could barely see the house,
because the grass and weeds were so tall. We pushed our way through the weeds and
grass and finally made it to the back of the house. We tried to look through the filthy
windows, but they were boarded up. Before I opened the door, I asked everybody Do
we really want to do this? Alexis being the brave one said Just do it. Jada is the
scared one asked Are we really going to do this? And me being the curious one I
wanted to see what was inside the house. Once we got in the house we felt a cold
burst of air.
We started walking around the dark and gloomy house with our phone flashlights
on. We stopped in are tracked when we heard a noise coming from the back of the
house. We started walking towards the back of the crummy house until we saw a
dark figure walking towards the stairs. Jada saw the dark figure and froze. Alexis
and I had to pull her into the dirty closet so the figure wouldn t see us. When we
thought the coast was clear we peaked out the closet to see if the figure was still there.
While we were in the closet, my shoe made an obnoxious noise on the I ground.
Terror filled inside me when I heard the creaky footsteps of the figure. When we
heard the footsteps get louder and louder. We decided to run for it. I opened the
closet door and to my surprise, I saw the figure at the end of the stairs. The figure
made eye contact with me and ran towards
City Of God Cinematography Essay
The used of cinematography and camera movement is hands down one of the
most, if not the most important thing of a good film. I believe that they are two of
the things that make for a great film. So when asked to compare a scene from
Raising Arizona and City of God, I had to choose two of my most iconic scenes in
filmhistory, the chicken chase from City of God and the diaper heist from Raising
Arizona. In two of the most iconic scenes in movie history, it is only natural that a
slew of camera techniques are used to tell the story of each particular scene, most of
which are some of the same methods. One of the most noticeable parallels between
the films is the camera lens and the use of shallow focus. Shallow focus is the main
source of camera... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the use of shallow focus is something that is conspicuous throughout both of
the scenes, Raising Arizona also feature a zoom shot when the camera focus
switches subjects to the diaper package that has been dropped. A portion of
framing is also a difference within each scene, though the framing is mostly level,
Raising Arizona also uses a canted framing when shooting the running within the
street. A high angle of framing is used in City of God, during the shooting scene.
This is used to display more people on the screen and heighten the sense of panic.
Crane shot and whip pan are also used in the scene of City of God, given the
amount of individuals in that scene; whip pan is used quite a bit to get everyone in
the shot. A crane is used at the beginning for parts such as walking down stairs. In
City of God, a difference in speed rate is also a noticeable variance among the
scenes. While all of these are slight differences, the most obvious deviations in
technique are the camera movement. For Raising Arizona, the use of tracking shot
and tilt are used specifically for the running scenes. While, in City of God, almost the
entire scene is shot using a Steadicam, noted by the tremulousness of the camera
during all of the moving
The Importance Of Enterprise Server Security
Enterprise Server Security
Lock down critical systems and reduce risk with application control
The changing network perimeter
With the explosion of cloud, virtualization, mobile devices and data center
interconnectivity, the network attack surface has changed. There is no longer a
simple perimeter than can be protected by a strong firewall. In today s data driven
world, servers and data centers are no longer isolated. Threats are now entering the
network behind the firewall and moving laterally (east/west), putting servers and data
at greater risk.
The evolving threat landscape
Threats to data center systems have never been higher. In 2016, more than 4.2 billion
records were exposed through data breaches. The threat landscape has ... Show more

There are clear indications that private data center use may have peaked. Cloud
storage faces the same risks as the enterprise network, adding a virtual location that is
also vulnerable to hacked APIs, account hijacking, poor key/certificate management
and lax authentication. With the cloud/hybrid model as the growing standard, it is
critical for companies to secure data and applications in both the physical and virtual
locations.
As the sources and complexity of data breaches continue to increase, so does the
cost to organizations. In 2016, the Aberdeen Group estimated the average cost of
downtime was $260,000 per hour, a figure that represents a 60% increase from the
2014 average. Even businesses with a 99.9% uptime will lose almost 9 hours a year,
which has a potential downtime cost of over $2 million. Combine this with the
Ponemon Institute s finding that the average cost of a breach is $4 million.
Improving security is a financial imperative.
Securing legacy systems
Organizations are struggling to secure legacy operating systems, applications and
equipment. This is especially prevalent in enterprise data centers. Often, these legacy
technologies are no longer supported. Antivirus does not work well without security
updates, leaving end of life (EOL) systems vulnerable. Unfortunately, organizations
frequently find these systems are too expensive
Adam Corolla Usc Lecture Essay
Adam Carolla Lecture Paper
One of the basic tenets of life is that greater opportunities will appear to individuals
that actively pursue and know how to recognize them. Since the majority of us do
not have the luxury of being born into wealth or power, the choices that we make
ultimately shape our successes in life. Adam Carolla begins by using examples to
highlight the concepts of consistency and residual income. He explains that it is
easier and more useful to understand how to sell something and continue selling it
again and again as opposed to figuring out how to simply make a large amount of
money. As a student that had performed poorly in high school, he worked a variety
of jobs including carpet cleaner and boxing trainer ... Show more content on

Conversely, Adam Carolla cites an example of negative reinforcement being used
as a form of motivation. He refers to his time working as a carpet cleaner out of
high school and the pain he felt from working a horrible job with people he did not
like. Carolla explains that by being miserable at a bad job, he learned he did not
want to continue working at a career that he did not enjoy. Using pain as a
motivating factor, this realization forced Adam to forge a better career path for
himself. Another important aspect of creating opportunities revolves around the
concept of doing a job well regardless of whether you enjoy it or not. In reality, the
dream job is not typically the first job, the second job, or even the third. However,
this does not count as an excuse for not performing to the highest capacity at any
level of work. Adam expands, saying that it is crucial to get in the habit of doing
things well and not judge a job because you it feel it might be below you. Doing a
job properly and to the fullest ability demonstrates attention to the detail and is a
key indicator of overall job performance to employers. Experience and knowledge
are also key elements that an individual can use to take advantage of opportunities. In
order to obtain chance for advancement, it is imperative to commit the time to
understand all the aspects of a job and acquire the knowledge necessary for when the
opportunity does come. In
Application Of The Secure Update System

firmware means validating that this holds that the firmware running on the system is
the one installed by the manufacturer. Following is a summary of analysis of various
classes of algorithms that might be suitable for firmware verification as stated by

A one way function is a function that is easy to calculate but hard to reverse. A hash
function will take a variable length input string called a preimage, such as a
firmware image, and convert it into a fixed length output string called a hash value
[3]. Important properties of a one way hash function, h, are [4]: Preimage resistance.
Given the hash value V it should be computationally infeasible to find an input string
M with h(M) = V . Second preimage resistance. Given the input string M it should be
computationally infeasible to find another string M′ with h(M) = h(M′).
Collision resistance. A collision should be computationally infeasible to find. A
collision is when two input strings can be found, M and M′, hashing to the same
value, h(M) = h(M′) If the input space is greater than the output space, as common
among hash functions, collisions must occur for obvious reasons. A collision attack
is an attack on the collision resistance of a hash function. A preimage attack is an
attack on the preimage property. Here, the original preimage is unknown, but the
hash value is known, and the attacker must find an input string that hashes to the
same value. A preimage attack is deemed considerably more difficult than a collision
attack [4]. In a second preimage attack both the preimage and the hash value is known
to the attacker and a second preimage hashing to the same value must be found. The

Sensory Deprivation Experiments Have Been Around Since

Sensory Deprivation experiments have been around since the early 1900 s. People
have always curious to know what happens if you take away the five essential
human senses. Our senses help us make sense of in the insane, fast paced, stressed
world we live in. Not having one of our senses can lead to the process of learning
how to live comfortably without that certain input of senses. While having none of
the senses can lead to creating your own world by hallucinating. Without having
any of the senses, can you get in contact with the supernatural? One experiment
suggests that it is possible depending on the person. Is it possible that depriving all
of the senses from a person could be relaxing to some? Yes, having a break from
the world can help relieve stress. What happens if you just take away one of the
main senses from a human? It can lead to fully understanding how lucky we are to
experience the world with each of our senses.
What would it be like to not be able to hear, see, touch, taste and smell? That is the
question that scientists have been trying to answer with Sensory Deprivation
experiments throughout the years. Sensory deprivation is the deliberate removal
of stimuli from one or more of the senses, (Hanchett 1). Sensory Deprivation can be
scary. Losing all of your senses and the idea of the material world not being at your

Diversity and Ecosystem Health: Protist Survival in Acidic Habitats
Abstract:
In this lab, we studied the health and response of a protist community in an
environmental change. The objective of this lab was to study and learn about how
variables, such as a more acidic environment, impact the community in a habitat.
Furthermore, it was also to learn about how diversity is quantified. To test this, we
added protist communities to habitats of different pH levels, from 7 to 4, and let
them live there for a week. We then studied the results and investigated which
protists lived better in which environments. We discovered that at a pH of 7, the
neutral pH of spring water, protists were able to live. As the pH was decreased,
however, protists began to die off and could not survive in such acidic conditions.
We also noticed that the lower the pH, the lower the diversity because fewer types
of protists could survive. We can use this information to see how acidic conditions
in nature such as those caused by acid rain can affect communities. We now know
that an acidic environment can be extremely harmful to a community and so we
should be more cautious of acid rain. If acidic conditions are bad for protists, it is
quite possible that they are unfavorable for humans as well.
Introduction:
In this lab, we examined protist survival in different communities. An biological

Definition Essay About Fear
Fear
Fear occurs simply because you are not living with reality, you are living in your
mind, recreating unlikely occurrences. Fear is always about what is going to happen
next and that mean it does not necessarily exist in reality. Another truth about fear is
if it non existent, then your fear is completely made within your imagination. Insanity,
non existential fear. Living in socially acceptable amounts of insanity, while being
afraid of something that does not exist, it corresponds with fear. Boundaries are built
up, creating walls of fear. If the boundaries are created, then there is a restriction on
your life, which is created within your mind. Fear is not a product of the life you live.

only be afraid if you allow the fear to get to you, inside your thoughts. Fear is a
thought that you made inside your own mind. Your mind is what controls your

Some of the reasons are simple and obvious. To show that we can, that we are not

Confucianism
Mencius vs Hsun Tzu
Is man naturally good or is he evil? This question has not only been pondered by
countless philosophers, but also by religious leaders around the world. Most often
a single religious faith believes in either one or the other, and often these beliefs
tend to create a certain world view which dictates much of the faith. However, in
some cases such as the one I will be discussing, two religious dignitaries do not agree
and the repercussions of this can be found throughout the religion. The two men are
Mencius, an early pupil of Confucius and Hsun Tzu, a later follower of the same
faith. Mencius believed that each man, born of woman, would be naturally good and

Not much is known about Mencius or Hsun Tzu, but some basic information stirs
around various interpretations of their works. Mencius was found to be one of the
most important pupils of Confucius, he continued his work and added many new
outlooks and clarity to some of Confucius amp;#8217; teachings. Hsun Tzu, on the
other hand, was a very well journeyed man. He had been surrounded by war,
involved in politics and had a much greater variety of experience than that of
Mencius or Confucius. Hsun Tzu came be a few years after Mencius amp;#8217;
death and put a spin on Confucian beliefs and ideas. The difference in their beliefs is
where the faith is defined, through the teachings of Mencius and Hsun Tzu a large
problem arose. This problem was their views on human nature. Their differing ideas
came to shape Confucianism into what it is today, and their differing world views can
explain a lot about their teachings.
When dealing with these two ideas, we must first decipher what is meant by
amp;#8220;nature ; in the sense that Mencius and Hsun Tzu discuss. They are calling
nature all the abilities that man is born with, the instincts which make a man human.
Gut feelings, emotions and passions that are instilled in every human being from the
moment of their conception. And finally a world view is, as philosophers would call
it, an idea with which other ideas are based. An idea which influences basic decision

He put a million dollars into a company I was starting.
He called all his best friends: Henry Kravis, Jim McCann (the CEO of 1 800

they all sent in one million dollars within minutes. Henry Kravis wanted to send $5

Then Pat put another million into another company I was invested in.
Then Pat introduced us to a large private equity firm that put $100 million into a fund

Then I hired away Pat s top investment banker to work for the fund. I called Pat to
say no hard feelings. He replied that it was basically unfair of me but he understood.
Everything went bad after that. The fund we were doing went down the drain.
Maybe we invested $30 million of the fund but it did horribly.
The company all of Pat s friends invested in went down the drain. We lost
everything. They all lost all of their money. Altogether the company raised $120
million and was sold a few years ago for $10 milion.
The other company disappeared. I don t even know what happened to it. I personally

Parable Of The Lost Sheep
How is Luke s claim on the repentance of sinners in the Parable of the Lost Sheep
being illustrated by the differences in detail found, in comparison to the Gospels of
Matthew and Thomas?
The Parable of the Lost Sheep is one of the many parables Jesus gave during his
lifetime. It is found in the two canonical gospels: Matthew 18:10 14 and Luke 15:3
10. It is also found in the non canonical gospel of Thomas 107. It is about a shepherd
who leaves his flock of ninety nine sheep behind to go look for the one sheep that is
lost. This context is similar in all of the three Gospels.
However, although there are similarities, there are also differences. These
differences have an implication for the message grasped by the readers. The focus
will be on the repentance of sinners claimed in the Gospel of Luke and how it differs
from the messages found in the other two Gospels. I will do this by analyzing the
effect of the differences in language, symbolic representation, the location of the
parable, audience, and the context in which it is written, found in these three Gospels.
In terms of symbolic presentation, Luke uses the word sinners to compare them to the
sheep as seen in verse 7, ...one sinner who repents... Jesus is giving a reason why he
is friends of tax collectors and sinners. This is because they are like the sheep, lost
and need saving through repentance. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus uses the words
little ones . Jesus uses these words after giving a lesson about
Acetone Molar Mass
The purpose of this experiment was to demonstrate how to calculate the molar mass
of a volatile liquid using the ideal gas law. By vaporizing a small sample of acetone
and condensing it into liquid while measuring temperature, pressure, volume, and
mass, the number of moles of the gas substance and its molar mass can be calculated.
An accurate calculation of the moles of acetone gaswas allowed due to the hole in
the foil of the test tube, which ensured that excess oxygen was driven out of the test
tube and only acetone gas was left. In order to accurately calculate the mass of the
acetone gas, the test tube was placed in an ice water bath to condense the acetone gas
into a liquid.
An uncertainity of 0.001g was appropriate for the mass measurements ... Show more

First, when the acetone was vaporized in the boiling water bath, it was assumed that
the pressure inside the test tube was equal to the outside air pressure due to the hole
in the aluminum foil. If this assumption produced a source of error, it would have
led to an inaccurate measurement of the mass of acetone gas in the test tube,
leading to an inaccurate calculation of the substance s molar mas. Second, when the
acetone was vaporized in the boiling water bath, it was assumed that the temperature
of the water was equal to the temperature of the gas. This assumption could produce
a source of error which would lead to an inaccurate measurement of the molar mass
of acetone gas due to flaws with the ideal gas equation. Third, since the barometric
pressure was measured using an online weather service, it is possible that the
pressure outside was not equal to the air pressure inside the chemistry lab. This
inaccuracy could lead to false calculations of acetone s molar mass due to pressure
s role in the ideal gas equation. Many of the systematic errors that are possible are
due to flaws with the ideal gas equation and assumptions about the ideal nature of the
acetone sample and ideal conditions of the laboratory. Finally, it was assumed that
there was no excess condensation on the test tube even after drying it. However, this
assumption would lead to an inaccurate measurement of the mass of the acetone gas,
creating a larger
African American Of The Hip Hop Industry
Language is a product of society. As society changes, so does language. Because of
this, over time, English speakers all over the world have reinvented language and in
some cases come up with their own very different ways of speaking. African
American Vernacular English (AAVE), also referred to as Ebonics, is one of these
variations of American English, most commonly spoken today by urban working
class and middle class African Americans. Not only does Ebonics make up an
immense part of African Americansocial life and communication, but also it is heavily
used in the music industry. Its use in the music industry today, particularly in the hip
hop industry, has definitely had an effect on society s use of language, especially
today s youth. Although widely used by African Americans, many other ethnicities
also use Ebonics as a way of communication. The use of Ebonics has steered many
away from learning and/or using Standard English and unfortunately, this has lead to
communication barriers between speakers of Ebonics and speakers of Standard
English especially within academic environments. Due to this, it is extremely
important for school systems to incorporate Ebonics as well as elements from the hip
hop culture into their curriculum to ensure the success of their students. Ebonics is
similar to the English dialect spoken in the American South; however, many features
of Ebonics are used more frequently by black speakers, suggesting that they have
their origins in black

THE IMPORTANCE OF KEEPING YOUR CHAIN OF COMMAND
INFORMED By: Corporal Corey Martin Birdow February Third Two Thousand It
is important to keep your chain of command informed at all times, especially if you
are in charge of the well being of soldiers. On the twenty sixth of January I failed as
a Non Commissioned Officer to fulfill this duty. I was informed that one of my
soldiers might be going to the hospital. I asked that person to keep me informed of
my soldier s status. Instead I should have checked on the soldier personally
because her health was already in a fragile state and the problem she was having
was of a very serious nature. I let my soldier down and endangered her by trying to
keep the situation at the lowest level. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I should have gone to the people who have experience in how to handle the
situation and would do what is best for the soldier. My counseling says When you
receive information about a soldier being sent to the hospital it is your obligation
to inform your chain of command so that information can be passed up the chain
and the appropriate actions can be taken if need be. I understand that it might not
seem like a very big deal but a soldier getting admitted to the hospital for any reason
can take a turn for the worse without notice and also we have to account for the
soldier while they are in the hospital. In the future make sure you pass this
information up the chain as soon as it is received. This counseling helped me grow
as a NCO because it made good points that I never thought of when acting in this
situation. First of all the fact that I, someone who is not a doctor cannot make a
proper evaluation of someone in order to assume that there health problem is no
big deal. And by acting like is no big deal I could have made the situation take a
turn for the worse. Also I neglected to remember the importance of knowing my
soldiers general where abouts at all times whether at work in the field and even at
home. The consequences of my actions could have resulted in more than a
counseling. Most importantly my soldier could have been in serious danger and by
the time I seeked help it could have been too late to keep the condition of the
Freedom Of Speech And One s Opinion On The United
States
If people around the world knew how well people at Guantanamo Bay are treating
prisoners, they would not fall prey to the accusations that some in our Chamber are
making. They are all receiving judicial review. Unknown Author Amidst a society
in which political viewpoints, freedom of speech and one s opinion on the needs of
the people coincide with reality, it is relevant to state that our nation founded upon a
Bill of Rights, a Constitution, treaties with other nations and established laws does
not grasp the image of war. Americans currently face a religious war in which
individuals from foreign countries are embarking on our freedoms that those who
serve in our military have protected to keep however, bringing war to our home front
is not an easy task to not take precautionary measures to a higher level. Since January
11, 2002, detainees from Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and other disclosed locations
have been transported to Camp X Ray in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba for interrogationin
their involvement with plotted terrorist attacks since September 11, 2001. As the
media portrays an image of cruel and unusual punishment given to detainees the
success rate of interrogations at Guantanamo Bay have given the CIA, military
intelligence teams and government official s crucial pieces to an unsolved puzzle.

Government In Innovation Essay
Governments play an important role in business innovation. Discuss in relation to
two sectors.
Introduction
It is a common notion that it is primarily the private sector that drives innovation and
economic growth, while the government, at best, plays only organization role in
fixing market failures . Under this myth lies a different story, where some of the best
advanced economies in the world have been shaped directly by government¬ led
investments. By not being capable to recognize the government as a source for major
business innovation we run the risk of economic stagnation and the loss of inventive
new technology. In publication, (Mariana Mazzucato 2013) reveals how the state,
through direct funding to high В¬risk areas and mission В¬oriented planning, has
provided boost leading to the development of new technologies and sectors. She
debates that key technological revolutions, from the internet to biotech, to echo tech
today, have required an active entrepreneurial government that is willing to invest in
innovation and that economists have no words to describe this process of
government led market creation.
For the bright future, we should understand that Innovation is the central issue in
economic prosperity and it s not the case previously when it was government versus
private sector but now both work hand in hand for innovative tomorrow. Government
has impact of its working, policies on over every sector industry dealing with
country. I would discuss the
Entrepreneurs Personality for Being Successful in Business
Entrepreneurs Personality for Being Successful in Business
Miss. Sarita Ghanshyam Tiwari,
(M.Com. M. Phil.) e mail: tiwari_sarita@rediffmail.com
Abstract Business success may causes due to many factors, but the greatest
determinant of the business success is the entrepreneur himself / herself. Therefore,
the question of what makes a successful entrepreneur is very important. There have
been many answers to this question. Some people think entrepreneurs are born,
others that they are made. Some see entrepreneurs as passionate leaders with a vision
that is totally focused on one objective, while others describe them as compulsive
controller. Some says entrepreneurs are risk takers while others say they are ... Show

whether is it a nice book or not? Here a decorative cover page does not carry a long
lasting impact on that persons mind. Therefore, personality includes both factors i.e.
physical appearance and formidable foundation of good behavior and character.
Physical appearance is that personality which creates first impression in front of
others that s why it can be taken as the primary or outer personality of an
individual, while foundation is considered as secondary or inner personality
because it has second impact on others. It is not necessary that one should possess
physical appearance because it is sometimes depends on the heredity factors of
that person. It is inborn type of personality and sometimes depends on the luck
factor too. If a person got good looks then it adds to his plus point. We should
remember that a person s height, weight and complexion are not in his hand but he
can take care to keep himself neat and clean to impress others. Thus, working on
primary personality is necessary but only putting concentration on it is not
sufficient. The best personality is based on the solid foundation of character. Good
behavior and co operation makes a man popular. But this strong foundation is not an
inborn quality of a person. It can be developed from one s childhood and has impact
of family, family background, friends, working area, society, regions and experience
etc. These factors also contribute in developing one s character and behavior.
Immigration Assimilation
America is largely made up of immigrants, and thus it is referred to by many as an
immigrant s nation. The rise in immigrants of the first generation and those of second
or third generation is changing the demographics of the United States each day.
Duncan and Stephen observe that about a quarter of U.S. residents are either first
generation immigrants or the second generation children of immigrants (109). Most
of these immigrants move to the country with the aim of achieving the American
dream through career success. We would like to believe that the nation follows
through with its American ideology that immigrants are welcomed with open arms,
and they will have economic opportunities. However, the process of integration and
assimilation of these immigrants has for long been a common debate question. The
immigration waves into the United Stateshave occurred in several waves over the
past years. In the earlier years, most of the immigrants were from Europe and their
assimilation was rather smooth. But, the recent wave of immigrants groups
prevalently from Asia and Latin America do not face similar acceptance and open
arms as their predecessors.
Additionally, the aspirations of most immigrants are that they will have upward
mobility when they get into the United States, but unfortunately, in several instances,
they may face unexpected downward mobility. Downward mobility may occur due to
many factors. The socioeconomic mobility of immigrants is largely determined by the
Stockpile Inventory System
Stockpile Inventory: Now Is a Good Time to Rotate and Update
Everything has a life expectancy, food, water, medicines, and even equipment and
gear. Even if you have a substantial stockpile the work is not done, because now you
have to make sure all food is edible, medicines are safe to take, and all gear and
equipment is serviceable.
The damp and cold weather over the winter may have affected your electronics,
medicines, and food storage, so they do have to be checked while at the same time
you have to protect your supplies from the summer heat.
The cold and the heat can wreak havoc on your supplies and few people have a
climate controlled storage area, so you will have to inspect everything for signs of
damage/deterioration. In addition to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You do not want to be caught off guard. You may think you have enough food and
water for 30 days, but if you or others borrow this or that and not replace the items
then over time your supplies will obviously decrease. Staying organized and
inspecting frequently will keep you up to date.
It is a good idea to keep a master list of all items so you can do a quick scan before
purchasing something to make sure you are not doubling up on items. Having
multiples of the same things is not a bad idea in some cases, but if finances are tight,
you could spend the money on an item you do not currently have.
The master list should show the date of purchase, adding what the item cost is an
option as well. Then notate the expected shelf life of foods, medicines and certain
medical supplies, so a quick look would tell you that an item needs to be rotated into
daily use before it is wasted. With this information you could then budget and plan
when to replace what was taken away.
Batteries whether in a device or not would have to be inspected for leakage and
charge. Often times the manufacturer will state on the package what the expected
shelf life is if stored in the
The Bitch Manifesto By Joreen Freeman
Feminist Movements started long before 1960, with the advancement of women
earning the right to vote. However, it did not stop with that change. There were
many other items that the women in history hoped to change, not only to better
their own lives, but also the women of the future. With the use of many documents,
such as flyers, letters, and boycotts, women of the past changed many different
aspects of life for women in the world today. Boycotting the Miss America Pageant
in 1968 and 1969, circulating flyers around America, was just the beginning of this
second movement. They also used to write to convey their thoughts. One of which
was titled The Bitch Manifesto and was written in 1968 by Joreen Freeman. The
second was a spin off from a children s book entitled There was a Young Women
Who Swallowed a lie which was written in 1970 by Meredith Tax. Slavery Exists!
Reported by a flyer that circulated around America in 1968. At this time, slavery as
we remember was over, so to many at the time, what the women were proclaiming
may have been confusing to some. This circulated around before the Miss America
pageant. The Washington Women s Liberation were portraying the pageant to slavery
because Miss America was a slave to cultural norms of the time, the image of sex,
virginal prettiness, glory of war, mindless conformity, acceptance of racism, cult of
youth, the competitive spirit, and the capitalistic system. With this flyer, they were
hoping to gather others who
Nile River Impact Of Egypt
The Nile River helped Egypt economically, socially, and religiously, and as a result
Egypt was named the Gift of the Nile because of the given history of these great
waters. The Nile has continued for centuries to provide whats necessary for the
people of Egypt and their daily lives. The Nile River is truly a blessing to these
people and Egyptwould not be the same without it. Without the Nile, Egypt would
have remained a hot desert. The people would have not been able to survive because
there was no way of getting food, water, and other basic needs to survive. The Nile
River was considered the Gift of the Nile because of the many ways the river
provided for the land. One of these ways is how the Nile River helped Egypt... Show

1/3 of Egypt are farmers and all of these farmers in Egypt were very dependent on
the Nile River. Egypt s farmers were depending on the river to flood the area, so
that there would be fertile lands. With fertile lands, the farmers were able to plant
crops, that wouldn t die and be healthy. The main crops that were planted in Egypt
were cotton, corn, wheat, barley, rice, sugar cane, sorghum, fruits, vegetables, and
dates. Every year, when the Nile River flooded, the soil was filled with nutrients
for all these crops to grow. One thing that the Nile River really helped with, was that
the river provided so many jobs to many people living in Egypt. Without the Nile
River, there would be many unemployed, which means many that were impecunious.
Having so many people with little money meant that for those who did work, they
wouldn t get as much money because a lot of the people wouldn t be able to afford
anything.
Some of these jobs included farmers, because of the flooding so the farmers could
plant crops. Then there were fishermen, who could fish from the Nile River to sell
out to the people which was another way of having food. Without the river, there
could be no fishermen to go fishing as the river. Another important job were the
sailors, which would move the boats up and down the river. Obviously, without the
river there could be no sailors. For the sailors to do their job, there had to be ship
builders that would

From Innocence to Adulthood in The Catcher in the Rye
Adolescence is a time of existence in two worlds. One world having
the desire to be in the adult world, which is filled with all the unknown
wonders of the world. The other world is the world of childhood which is
comfortable and protected from all the impurities in the world. This sort
of tug of war between the two worlds is not only mentally imposed on a
being, but physically, socially, and morally as well. With all the
mentioned above, often times an adult will discourage an action of an
adolescent by saying they are too old to a act a certain way, and then will
turn around and say they are too young to do something, like go out late ... Show

Holden tries to give the illusion that he is older because when he orders
the drink, he Orders it fast as possible, because if you hem and haw they
think you are under 21 and won t sell you intoxicating liquor . This is
the classic example of adolescence when one attempts to act older than his
or her age when attempting to obtain alcohol. Up until the age of 21, all
young adults want to give the illusion they are older than they are in
hopes of obtaining special adult privileges, such as drinking alcohol,
smoking, etc. However Holden s failed attempts forces him to realize that
his act is fooling no one other than himself. Such an example can be seen
when one goes to college bars and can see all the adults that are hanging
out there. The people who are there are not fooling anyone as well.
Sex is often the most complicated adult subjects, even for adults
to understand themselves. The act of sex itself can be talked about
immensely, as done in locker rooms or with friends, almost to the point
where one could believe in the tales. However the act itself cannot be
faked and innocence of such things are quite apparent when the situations
do arise. The saying one can talk the talk, but cannot walk the walk
describes this sort of situation perfectly. Holden s first experience with
a woman who he
Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards Essay
As new technologies develop and become mainstream over time, there needs to be
specific regulations in place. It is best if these sets of regulations are developed and
maintained independently from battery manufacturers, automobile manufacturers,
and/or suppliers. Currently today there are many bodies that maintain these standards.
A few of them include UL (Underwriters Laboratories), IEC (International
Electrotechnical Commission), NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association
), SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers), UN (United Nations), IEEE (Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers), JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards or
Japanese Standards Association), GB (Guo Biao or National Standard for the People
s Republic of China), US DOT FMVSS ( Federal Motor VehicleSafety Standards and
Regulations), and BATSO (Battery Safety Organization). These organizations set
the standards to help minimize safety risks which include but are not limited to
fire, explosion, and shock. These standards are in place to try and assess the safety
risk associated with these new technologies and to help engineer them to be safer.
This research paper will focus on the UN ECE 100 standards, FMVSS 305, and UN

Men In The Elizabethan Era
The high class people of the Elizabethan era were borderline obsessed with their
appearance. These nobles would go to almost any length to ensure that they looked
impeccable according to the social standards. Nothing was too extreme because in
their eyes, the gain outweighed the loss. Men and women of the Elizabethan erawould
do almost anything to distinguish their class.
Both men and women wanted to be in the height of fashion, especially when it came
to hair. Noble men would also dress just as extravagantly as their female
counterparts. This is contrary to modern times, as today s men tend to not spend as
much time and money as women on appearance. To the people of the Elizabethan era,
beauty was everything. Anything or anyone ugly was inferior.

The U.S and other Western countries have been seriously discussing this matter with Iranian authorities after they verified the validity of the news. Iran has undergone billions dollars in expenses, in attempts to gain nuclear power. Generally, the main sanctions are divided into four different groups: U.S sanctions (Executive Order), European sanctions, UN sanctions, and sanctions imposed by the U.S congress. During the beginning years, the effect rate of sanctions weren t very high until sanctions were imposed on Irans oil/energy sector and the banking system (Slavin, 2007). When the Iranian revolutiontook place is 1979, Iranian civilians were in search for a better life which would bring them more political freedom, which at the time, they were lacking. The revolution, attempting to overthrow Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi occurred and not only were Iranian civilians striped of their political freedom, but they were stripped of their other rights and privileges as well. The new ideological theocratic government betrayed the hopes and dreams of civilians of having a better democratic life and instead set up a theocratic dictatorship that affect Iranians until this day. Relations between the United States and Iran has changed drastically ever since the Pahlavi Dynasty. At one point, prior to 1979, America and Iran were

When Mr Pirzada Came to Dine From Interpreter of Maladies, Thumpa Lahiri When Mr. Pirzada Came to Dine I N THE AUTUMN OF 1971 a man used to come to our house, bearing confections in his pocket and hopes of ascertaining the life or death of his family. His name was Mr. Pirzada, and he came from Dacca, now the capital of Bangladesh, but then a part of Pakistan. That year Pakistan was engaged in civil war. The eastern frontier, where Dacca was located, was fighting for autonomy from the ruling regime in the west. In March, Dacca had been invaded, torched and shelled by the Pakistani army. Teachers were dragged onto streets and shot, women dragged into barracks and raped. By the end of the summer, three hundred thousand people were said to have died. In Dacca Mr. ... Mr. Pirzada and my parents spoke the same language, laughed at the same jokes, looked more or less the same. They ate pickled mangoes with their meals, ate rice every night for supper with their hands. Like my parents, Mr. Pirzada took off his shoes before entering a room, chewed fennel seeds after meals as a digestive, drank no alcohol, for dessert dipped austere biscuits into successive cups of tea. Nevertheless my father insisted that I understand the difference, and he led me to a map of the world taped to the wall over his desk. He seemed concerned that Mr. Pirzada 1 2001 ESubjects Inc. He wrote many novels, plays and short stories, many of those were admired as master pieces. It drew attention of the critics and readers due to its multi dimensional aspects, which offered entertainment including the serious issues of human life, for that matter it resulted in being popular fictionof the time. His popularity urged many critics to analyze his work from different dimensions. The critics discussed his works with the advantage to explore the qualities of writer as well as to point out the flaws of his work. The critics discovered many themes along with stylistic features of his novels in plays and short stories. Maugham wrote for the writing s sake, he neither interfered in political matters nor he struggled to be the guardian of society (19). Jack Collins examined similar characteristic in Maugham s style. He justifies popularity of Maugham as a writer by providing two reasons: firstly, he has the capability to create a plot which is direct, it goes on with linear clarity that no one can find obscurity in the plot. Secondly, his quality to develop the dramatic intensity has remarkable effects on the story that it turns the characters into demonic forces (16). This intensity in his works attracts the readers to pay honest attention while reading. His works are the satisfaction of those people who like to get on with the story (Brander
  • 6. Crohn s Disease Reflection Three years ago when I was first diagnosed with Crohn s Disease, I could not even begin to comprehend how big of an impact it would have on my life. Sitting in my hospital bed and hearing a doctor say that I had a life long, chronic illness was immeasurable for a fifteen year old who had just finished her freshman year. Through all of the rough patches and bumps along the way, I wouldn t change anything. With my diagnosis of Crohn s Disease, I have been impacted in insurmountable ways, both for the worse and also for the better. I would not be the person that I am today if it was not for my diagnosis, and my future looks brighter than ever before because of the impact my disease has had on my life. As a high school freshman, you expect school to be like the movies. Going to football games and homecoming dances, going out on weekends and having a memorable year, but when a debilitating pain starts to affect every part of your day, that high school fantasy turns into a high school nightmare. Plainchant Compare And Contrast The plainchants Viderunt Omnes by Anonymous and O viridissima virga by Hildegard of Bingen are both compositions that were created during the Medieval Age, also known as the Middle Age. The purpose of these pieces were to be served usually in Roman Catholic Churches as music of worship. Although these two songs are known as plainchants, meaning they are usually monophonic and the melody usually does not change, both pieces have many similarities and differences. In my personal opinion, I believe that these two piece are more different than they are similar. For example, Viderunt Omnes is polyphonic for a majority of its duration because it sounds to be sung in unison by a choir and not by a singular person. O viridissima virga on the other
  • 10. Compare And Contrast Democratic Party And Republican Party The two major political parties in the United States of America are the Democratic party and the Republican party. Both have mostly differing views as Democrats tend to be liberal and Republicans tend to be conservative. Democrats, usually, believe in the inherent good of humankind while Republicans tend to believe human nature is not inherently so pure. The two parties also have different opinions on the role of the government; Republicans believe the government is there to protect the peoples rights and Democrats believe the government should have a strong role. Another important topic to cover is the American s rights versus responsibilities. Democrats tend to believe we are guaranteed more rights than given responsibilities and Republicans believe the opposite. With all this in mind, which party has a more ethical and correct platform? The democratic party s platform states cooperation is better than conflict, unity is better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better than walls. Democrats believe in removing barriers and creating opportunities. One way this can be accomplished is by ending systematic racism; this can be done by pushing for social reform, removing the Confederate flag from public property as it is a racist symbol and by closing the racial pay and wealth gap. Another reform the democrat will push for is the criminal justice system. Privatized prisons and detention centers need to be ended as well as change for
  • 11. Factors Affecting Juror Behavior Towards Perpetrators and... Our current study examines juror behaviour towards perpetrators and victims in a criminal trial setting. Taken into account, are two factors hypothesized to influence the judicial outcome of criminal trials in Canada and the United States. Primarily, that a juror s level of belief in a just world (BJW) influences his or her decisions towards both the perpetrator and victim, with those jurors measuring higher in BJW being more apt to blame the victim for his or her own misfortune. Second, that the relationship between BJW and the victim blamingbehaviour of the juror is mediated by whether the victim is portrayed as innocent, having done nothing to deserve victimization; or portrayed as non innocent, having contributed to their own misfortune through careless or immoral behaviour. We analyzed data for main effects of both BJW and victim type on outcome variables perpetrator sentencing and victim monetary compensation. Data was further analyzed for possible interaction effects between BJW and victim type using multiple regression analysis, retaining the continuous characteristic of the BJW predictor variable. Results revealed no significant interaction effects or main effectof BJW on either dependent variable, however, a significant main effect of victim type was observed. It is not uncommon for people in unfortunate situations to be cited as the source of their own troubles. If someone has been mugged walking home, they must have somehow been responsible by leaving

Why Marijuana Should Not Be Legal Substance A survey was taken of the general population who use a major substance, and 6.6 percent of these people reported to have used marijuana in the past month. There are many reasons floating around on why marijuana should not be a legal substance. Many people think that marijuana would alter the crime rates in the U.S since it is illegal to own or consume. The flip side to the crimes and the enforcing is that it gets expensive. So with the legalization of marijuana those costs would disappear and the taximposed on to the drug would drive the economy up. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This means that legalizing marijuana will do no significant effect to the crime rates regarding controlled substances. A survey by the Bureau of Justice Statistics showed that 0.7% of all state inmates were in jail for marijuana possession solemnly. Many of the inmates in prison for marijuana are behind bars for plead down from more serious crimes.Marijuana arrests are mostly misdemeanors and so are not as expensive, on average, as other types of arrests.Criminal organizations that profit from drug distribution, human trafficking, and other crimes only get a certain amount from marijuana, which makes it so that these organizations will not stop just from the legalization of marijuana. Taxes will not make enough money in order to help the economy in any which way. In 2007 the federal government collected a total of around $9 billion. The states themselves collected around $5.5 billion together. This less than 10 percent to the 187 billion dollars spent on alcohol related costs in health care, criminal justice, and the workplace in lost productivity. At a weighted average price of marijuana treatment of $575, this would result in a $1.5 million increase in total spending on treatment, of which perhaps $1 million would fall on the taxpayer. On average, each year,Americans spend more than $200 billion on the social costs of smoking, but only about $25 billion is collected in taxes. These

Bipedal Locomotion in Early Hominids Essay Bipedal Locomotion in Early Hominids Until recently, the oldest fossil species to provide evidence for bipedalism was Australopithecus afarensis, of which the best example of is the 3.2 million year old skeleton called Lucy found in Hadar, Ethiopia. According to article 19: Sunset at the Savanna, in 1995 Meave Leakey of the national Museums of Kenya and her colleagues made public the discovery of and older hominid species Australopithecus anamensis (getting its name from the Turkana word for lake anam having been found near lake Turkana and the site of another ancient lake). Leakey s team found a tibia from this creature that is quite human like and emphatically bipedal, in size and practically all details of the knee and ankle ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We learned in lab last week that the pelvis has features that indicate the mode of locomotion. A bipedal creature will have an ilium that is short and wide. The leg bones will give clues too. A bipedal creature has knees that point more directly forward than a quadrapedal creature (this is why apes look very awkward when they walk bipedally, their legs kick out to the side when they step forward.) Another skeletal feature that indicates bipedalism is a special design of the anklebones so that they would be able to take the weight of a bipedal stride. The knee bone of a bipedal hominid has a special feature too. It has extra spongy bone tissue that acts as a shock absorber when walking. One feature mentioned in article 20 is a oval hollow at the bottom of the humerus where the humerus and the ulna lock in place. This is an adaptation to knuckle walking and is not present in bipedal hominids. Many theories have been made about what type of paleoecology or paleoecological changes were the niche for bipedalism. It must have been a strong force since bipedaliam is generally slower and more awkward than quadrapedal locomotion. It also puts the animal at a greater risk of injury, according to Owen Lovejoy of Kent State. The current most widely accepted theory is that there was a continent wide drying up of Africa starting around 5mya. This caused shrinkage of the large forests to

From this class I feel as if my writing skills have drastically improved over the semester, making me a more proficient writer. I used to consider the task of writing appalling and demanding as it would take me hours to complete, but now at the conclusion of the semester that is not the case. Each project give me a new set of valuable skills that I will be able to use far into my future career, helping me along the way. Journals Writings and Perfect Paragraphs At the start of the semester I perceived of the task of writing three hours worth of journals a week rather demanding and as if no benefit could come from such a task. Despite this initial feeling however, I found just the contrary now that the semester comes to an end. The journal writings forced me to revamp my overall writing style, teaching me how to just write what comes to mind, making the process more fluent and efficient. Prior to this change I would spend a vast amount of time writing each sentence as I would critique and edit as I wrote. Not only do I find my newly discovered method of writing to be more efficient but also it leads to a more natural flow and feel in my writing. The journal writings were in my opinion very important to my advancement to become a better writer. Perfect paragraphs taught me a vast amount as well, as I was now forced to take some of my roughest writing, and make it as perfect as I can

  • 18. The Importance Of Cultural Differences My upbringing is atypical compared to most white, middle class females, I would also assume different than my classmates. What once caused me a sense a dread now gives me a sense of pride because I have lived a life others have not. I feel I have a better understanding of the diversity of the community than people I know. I frankly did not need an assessment to point out my knowledge of cultural differences as I have lived with many diverse cultures. I explain to my children that they are at a disadvantage growing up here as there are not the cultural differences like we had in Georgia, especially where I lived. My hometown is also the home for one of the largest nuclear submarine bases. I was fortunate to grow up with many diverse cultures as the Navy brings diverse backgrounds into an area. I have explained to my children that I believe prejudices form from ignorance. Our school assimilated the diverse cultures and brought their histories into our education. There is a biasagainst the South being racist, and there is truth in that. I would argue, though that here in the Northeast I have seen more prejudices from people that I did down south. While growing up I lived with many different races, cultures, religions, and people of different sexual orientation than mine. What I quickly learned was that we are all the same, and the differences are just in our mind. As I have explained to my children, prejudices are useless as people show you what they want you to
  • 19. A Sunrise On The Veld Poem Analysis How Two Completely Different Stories Can Have So Many Similarities The short stories, A Sunrise on the Veld and At the Pitt Rivers , have nothing in common if you analyze them on a shallow literature level. A Sunrise on the Veld by Doris Lessing, highlights some of the reasons why life is so valuable. Lessing hints her readers that this short story is set somewhere in the desert by, ... the flesh of his soles contracted on the chilled earth, and his legs began to ache with cold... He slung the shoes over his shoulder... they would be necessary when the ground became too hot to bear, (Lessing, pg. 1212). Most deserts get heated by the sun by day, but loses the heat at night. The boy starts hunting, at first, but then is distracted by a wounded buck. Seeing this buck suffer, depicts him especially sad. A boy is also the protagonist in At the Pitt Rivers by Penelope Lively. This boy spends his time in a museum, observing people and writing poems as the time passes. He keeps track of a couple he sees at the museum. The couple catches his attention because they are not his ideal of what a couple should look like. If a kindergartener read these two short stories, he/she would find nothing in common with the stories. But, if the reader has the ability to analyze the text in more depth, he/she would find that they are more similar than the kindergartener would think. As an advanced reader, a comparison that is prevalent in both stories is, society s thinking of the ideal

The Soviet Union and China were the main Communist threats post World War II. The Soviets were the biggest threat, without their influence, China would not have become a Communist nation. North Korea was supported by the Soviet Union after the Japanese lost World War II. They adopted a Communist government called the Democratic People s Republic of Korea and was ruled under Kim Il sung. North Koreainvaded South Korea, an authoritarian country, which drew involvement from the United States, and in general, the United Nations. US involvement in Korea is debatebly because of the rising threat of global Communism and the attempt of North Korea taking South Korea. North and South Korea hosted a raging battle that involved a lot more than just the two countries. North Korea before 1950 was occupied by Japanese imperialists. After the Japanese lost World War II, The Soviet Union occupied the region north of the 38th parallel. They underwent a Communist government called the Democratic People s Republic of Korea (North Korea Wikipedia.org 5). In June of 1950, the poorly influenced North Korea invaded the 38th parallel into the south, starting the Korean War. By July, the United States had become involved on the south s behalf. Although it was to prevent one country from imperializing another, the war was more generally seen by the United States as a war of international Communism. One of their

It was located in a larger room in the basement of the church. There were around fifteen members that attended. The individual s came from an array of different ages and ethnicities, both men and woman. There was no one race or ethnicity that dominated another in the meeting, it was a very warm, accepting atmosphere. I noticed right away that there was more young adults around the age of thirty than elderly members. There was also around the same number of males and females in attendance. The meeting began with the appointed leader asking if there were any new members in the group, and gave them a chance to introduce themselves. I also introduced myself at this time, and explained my role as a student. They then transitioned into reciting the serenity prayer and having a moment of silence, allowing them to give thanks to their higher power. The leader then had different individuals recite the week s motivational phrase and reflect on the quote. The quote talked about forgiving yourself as an alcoholic, and the concept of letting go of the guilt that they have over hurting themselves and the people that they love when they were under the influence. This topic was very triggering for the members, and lead them into a very power discussion around the different people in their lives that were directly affected by their drinking. According to Geert Hofstede (1983), there are three important areas included in nationality, which are political, sociological and psychological aspects. First, political aspect can be different in each country. Second, sociological aspect can be understood by the way people think about their values base of belonging to one nation or region. Therefore, each person need to be circumspect when they work with foreigners to avoid misunderstanding about their identification, otherwise, that would trigger conflict between them. Third, psychological aspect refers to the way people think, which was affected by their early life experience in their family and later education experience. A high angle of framing is used in City of God, during the shooting scene. This is used to display more people on the screen and heighten the sense of panic. Crane shot and whip pan are also used in the scene of City of God, given the amount of individuals in that scene; whip pan is used quite a bit to get everyone in the shot. A crane is used at the beginning for parts such as walking down stairs. In City of God, a difference in speed rate is also a noticeable variance among the scenes. While all of these are slight differences, the most obvious deviations in technique are the camera movement. While, in City of God, almost the entire scene is shot using a Steadicam, noted by the tremulousness of the camera during all of the moving

With the cloud/hybrid model as the growing standard, it is critical for companies to secure data and applications in both the physical and virtual locations. As the sources and complexity of data breaches continue to increase, so does the cost to organizations. In 2016, the Aberdeen Group estimated the average cost of downtime was $260,000 per hour, a figure that represents a 60% increase from the 2014 average. Even businesses with a 99.9% uptime will lose almost 9 hours a year, which has a potential downtime cost of over $2 million. Combine this with the Ponemon Institute s finding that the average cost of a breach is $4 million. Improving security is a financial imperative. Often, these legacy technologies are no longer supported. Antivirus does not work well without security updates, leaving end of life (EOL) systems vulnerable. He refers to his time working as a carpet cleaner out of high school and the pain he felt from working a horrible job with people he did not like. Carolla explains that by being miserable at a bad job, he learned he did not want to continue working at a career that he did not enjoy. Using pain as a motivating factor, this realization forced Adam to forge a better career path for himself. Another important aspect of creating opportunities revolves around the concept of doing a job well regardless of whether you enjoy it or not. In reality, the dream job is not typically the first job, the second job, or even the third. However, this does not count as an excuse for not performing to the highest capacity at any level of work. Adam expands, saying that it is crucial to get in the habit of doing things well and not judge a job because you it feel it might be below you. Doing a job properly and to the fullest ability demonstrates attention to the detail and is a key indicator of overall job performance to employers. Experience and knowledge are also key elements that an individual can use to take advantage of opportunities. In order to obtain chance for advancement, it is imperative to commit the time to understand all the aspects of a job and acquire the knowledge necessary for when the opportunity does come. In

Environmental Diversity Lab Olek Peraire Lab Report E4 Emily Speranza 11/23/14 Diversity and Ecosystem Health: Protist Survival in Acidic Habitats Abstract: In this lab, we studied the health and response of a protist community in an environmental change. The objective of this lab was to study and learn about how variables, such as a more acidic environment, impact the community in a habitat. Furthermore, it was also to learn about how diversity is quantified. To test this, we added protist communities to habitats of different pH levels, from 7 to 4, and let them live there for a week. We then studied the results and investigated which protists lived better in which environments. We discovered that at a pH of 7, the neutral pH of spring water, protists were able to live. As the pH was decreased, however, protists began to die off and could not survive in such acidic conditions. We also noticed that the lower the pH, the lower the diversity because fewer types of protists could survive. We can use this information to see how acidic conditions in nature such as those caused by acid rain can affect communities. We now know that an acidic environment can be extremely harmful to a community and so we should be more cautious of acid rain. If acidic conditions are bad for protists, it is quite possible that they are unfavorable for humans as well. Introduction: In this lab, we examined protist survival in different communities. Even though I am terrified, I will still be participating in the hike, to prove to myself that fear with realities is still a mental came that can be overcame with a certain mindset. You can only be afraid if you allow the fear to get to you, inside your thoughts. Fear is a thought that you made inside your own mind. Your mind is what controls your fears, and it can be conquered. With that being said, fear is productive: Why? Some of the reasons are simple and obvious. To show that we can, that we are not afraid. (King, 1982, p. 357). It is simply productive because we are able to accomplish something we would not ordinary do, thus defining a line between reality and
  • 37. Confucianism Essay Confucianism Mencius vs Hsun Tzu Is man naturally good or is he evil? This question has not only been pondered by countless philosophers, but also by religious leaders around the world. Most often a single religious faith believes in either one or the other, and often these beliefs tend to create a certain world view which dictates much of the faith. However, in some cases such as the one I will be discussing, two religious dignitaries do not agree and the repercussions of this can be found throughout the religion. The two men are Mencius, an early pupil of Confucius and Hsun Tzu, a later follower of the same faith. Mencius believed that each man, born of woman, would be naturally good and Hsun Tzu ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Not much is known about Mencius or Hsun Tzu, but some basic information stirs around various interpretations of their works. Mencius was found to be one of the most important pupils of Confucius, he continued his work and added many new outlooks and clarity to some of Confucius amp;#8217; teachings. Hsun Tzu, on the other hand, was a very well journeyed man. He had been surrounded by war, involved in politics and had a much greater variety of experience than that of Mencius or Confucius. Hsun Tzu came be a few years after Mencius amp;#8217; death and put a spin on Confucian beliefs and ideas. The difference in their beliefs is where the faith is defined, through the teachings of Mencius and Hsun Tzu a large problem arose. This problem was their views on human nature. Their differing ideas came to shape Confucianism into what it is today, and their differing world views can explain a lot about their teachings. When dealing with these two ideas, we must first decipher what is meant by amp;#8220;nature ; in the sense that Mencius and Hsun Tzu discuss. They are calling nature all the abilities that man is born with, the instincts which make a man human. Gut feelings, emotions and passions that are instilled in every human being from the moment of their conception. And finally a world view is, as philosophers would call it, an idea with which other ideas are based. An idea which influences basic decision making and

I don t want to embarrass him although I am 99.99% sure he won t be embarrassed even if I mention him. I met him in 1999. He was the #2 guy at the largest investment bank in the world. He wanted to invest in my next company. Here s what he ended up doing: He put a million dollars into a company I was starting. He called all his best friends: Henry Kravis, Jim McCann (the CEO of 1 800 Flowers) and a bunch of other well known investors. He said, invest in this , and they all sent in one million dollars within minutes. Henry Kravis wanted to send $5 million but I was stupid enough to say no . Pat probably helped me raise another $15 million. Then Pat put another million into another company I was invested in. Then Pat introduced us to a large private equity firm that put $100 million into a fund we were doing. Then I hired away Pat s top investment banker to work for the fund. I called Pat to say no hard feelings. He replied that it was basically unfair of me but he understood. Everything went bad after that. The fund we were doing went down the drain. Maybe we invested $30 million of the fund but it did horribly. The company all of Pat s friends invested in went down the drain. We lost everything. They all lost all of their money. Altogether the company raised $120 million and was sold a few years ago for $10 milion. The other company disappeared. I don t even know what happened to it. I personally lost a ton of
  • 39. Parable Of The Lost Sheep How is Luke s claim on the repentance of sinners in the Parable of the Lost Sheep being illustrated by the differences in detail found, in comparison to the Gospels of Matthew and Thomas? The Parable of the Lost Sheep is one of the many parables Jesus gave during his lifetime. It is found in the two canonical gospels: Matthew 18:10 14 and Luke 15:3 10. It is also found in the non canonical gospel of Thomas 107. It is about a shepherd who leaves his flock of ninety nine sheep behind to go look for the one sheep that is lost. This context is similar in all of the three Gospels. However, although there are similarities, there are also differences. These differences have an implication for the message grasped by the readers. The focus will be on the repentance of sinners claimed in the Gospel of Luke and how it differs from the messages found in the other two Gospels. I will do this by analyzing the effect of the differences in language, symbolic representation, the location of the parable, audience, and the context in which it is written, found in these three Gospels. In terms of symbolic presentation, Luke uses the word sinners to compare them to the sheep as seen in verse 7, ...one sinner who repents... Jesus is giving a reason why he is friends of tax collectors and sinners. This is because they are like the sheep, lost and need saving through repentance. In the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus uses the words little ones . Jesus uses these words after giving a lesson about

By vaporizing a small sample of acetone and condensing it into liquid while measuring temperature, pressure, volume, and mass, the number of moles of the gas substance and its molar mass can be calculated. An accurate calculation of the moles of acetone gaswas allowed due to the hole in the foil of the test tube, which ensured that excess oxygen was driven out of the test tube and only acetone gas was left. In order to accurately calculate the mass of the acetone gas, the test tube was placed in an ice water bath to condense the acetone gas into a liquid. An uncertainity of 0.001g was appropriate for the mass measurements ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... First, when the acetone was vaporized in the boiling water bath, it was assumed that the pressure inside the test tube was equal to the outside air pressure due to the hole in the aluminum foil. If this assumption produced a source of error, it would have led to an inaccurate measurement of the mass of acetone gas in the test tube, leading to an inaccurate calculation of the substance s molar mas. Second, when the acetone was vaporized in the boiling water bath, it was assumed that the temperature of the water was equal to the temperature of the gas. This assumption could produce a source of error which would lead to an inaccurate measurement of the molar mass of acetone gas due to flaws with the ideal gas equation. Third, since the barometric pressure was measured using an online weather service, it is possible that the pressure outside was not equal to the air pressure inside the chemistry lab. This inaccuracy could lead to false calculations of acetone s molar mass due to pressure s role in the ideal gas equation. Many of the systematic errors that are possible are due to flaws with the ideal gas equation and assumptions about the ideal nature of the acetone sample and ideal conditions of the laboratory. Finally, it was assumed that there was no excess condensation on the test tube even after drying it. However, this assumption would lead to an inaccurate measurement of the mass of the acetone gas, creating a larger

Because of this, over time, English speakers all over the world have reinvented language and in some cases come up with their own very different ways of speaking. African American Vernacular English (AAVE), also referred to as Ebonics, is one of these variations of American English, most commonly spoken today by urban working class and middle class African Americans. Not only does Ebonics make up an immense part of African Americansocial life and communication, but also it is heavily used in the music industry. Its use in the music industry today, particularly in the hip hop industry, has definitely had an effect on society s use of language, especially today s youth. Although widely used by African Americans, many other ethnicities also use Ebonics as a way of communication. The use of Ebonics has steered many away from learning and/or using Standard English and unfortunately, this has lead to communication barriers between speakers of Ebonics and speakers of Standard English especially within academic environments. Due to this, it is extremely important for school systems to incorporate Ebonics as well as elements from the hip hop culture into their curriculum to ensure the success of their students. Ebonics is similar to the English dialect spoken in the American South; however, many features of Ebonics are used more frequently by black speakers, suggesting that they have their origins in black

Under this myth lies a different story, where some of the best advanced economies in the world have been shaped directly by government¬ led investments. By not being capable to recognize the government as a source for major business innovation we run the risk of economic stagnation and the loss of inventive new technology. Physical appearance is that personality which creates first impression in front of others that s why it can be taken as the primary or outer personality of an individual, while foundation is considered as secondary or inner personality because it has second impact on others. It is not necessary that one should possess physical appearance because it is sometimes depends on the heredity factors of that person. It is inborn type of personality and sometimes depends on the luck factor too. If a person got good looks then it adds to his plus point. We should remember that a person s height, weight and complexion are not in his hand but he can take care to keep himself neat and clean to impress others. Thus, working on primary personality is necessary but only putting concentration on it is not sufficient. The best personality is based on the solid foundation of character. Good behavior and co operation makes a man popular. But this strong foundation is not an inborn quality of a person. It can be developed from one s childhood and has impact of family, family background, friends, working area, society, regions and experience etc. These factors also contribute in developing one s character and behavior.

The immigration waves into the United Stateshave occurred in several waves over the past years. In the earlier years, most of the immigrants were from Europe and their assimilation was rather smooth. But, the recent wave of immigrants groups prevalently from Asia and Latin America do not face similar acceptance and open arms as their predecessors.
