2. What’s pipe?
A tubular substance made up of glass, fiber, metal,
or any other material with a basic purpose of fluid
liquidity from one point to another.
3. Basic Piping Operations
Let’s understand this with the help of an example.
Let’s take 3 tanks.
Tank 1, Tank 2, and Tank 3.
Where Tank 1 is the largest in size, and other two
have nearly same dimensions.
5. Basic Piping Operations(Contd.)
To connect the tanks together, we use separate
cylindrical components known as pipe fittings.
The size and shape of these pipes may vary from
applications to applications.
At some point, bended pipe fittings are required
and for some, branched pipe fitting suits the
best.
6. Types of Pipe Fittings
Some of the pipe fittings are as the following:
• Elbows/Bends
• Tees/Branches
• Reducers/Expanders
• Couplings
• Olets
Etc.
7. Tank Nozzles
Once tanks are successfully grouped together via
pipe fittings, they need to be ended with tank
nozzles.
Tank nozzles are components that connect pipe
fittings to the tank.
With this, the process of connecting pipes ends.
This is known as Terminal Connections.
