Search Process Phase 1 – Understanding Your Need  Phase 2 – Execution Phase 3 – Completion
Phase 1 – Understanding Your Need Develop a list of qualifiers for the specific opportunity. Fully understand the workplace demographics, culture and management style. Develop accountable timelines for approval. Identify an initial target list of companies for recruiting. Review the understanding of the position to ensure all parties are in agreement on search criteria.
Phase 2 – Execution Cold call, recruit and interview candidates. Present written profiles of viable candidates that include: Overview of candidate’s background Summary of candidate’s skills  Why ESS believes candidate is a “match” Personal situation and reason for leaving current employer Resume/CV Schedule and prepare candidate and client interviews. Debrief candidate and client on interview and provide counsel. Conduct and present written reference checks.
Phase 3 – Completion Discuss all of the agreed upon terms of employment. Facilitate/negotiate the employment offer to chosen candidate. Assist the new employee with resignation from the current  company. Prepare the candidate to deal with the possibility of a  counteroffer. Facilitate the on-boarding process of the selected candidate. Stay in contact with both the candidate and the hiring manager    after the start date.
Sample Timeline Day 1 – 7 Cold calls and network with all contacts and  prospective candidates Day 8 - 14 Interviews conducted with all candidates who  fit the profile Day 15 - 17 Screen all candidates to present only the best Day 18 Presentation of finalist candidates Day 24 Candidate of choice is given an offer; candidate  accepts offer and agrees to a start date Day 25 Candidate resigns from current employer Day 39 Start date (depending on notice given)
