Generation Y employees have different expectations from companies than previous generations. They value flexibility over loyalty, preferring to develop new skills and work on interesting projects. Companies will need to shift from traditional rigid structures and competencies to more fluid, network-based models that allow creativity, communication, and self-directed learning. Managers will take on more of a coaching role as boundaries between work and personal life become blurred for Generation Y.
