2. The first video which I think mine will be similar to is ‘Fit But
You Know It’ by The Streets.
This song is quite upbeat, catchy and it has a high tempo which is
contrasting to mine.
What I thought was similar to my video was the performance. Like mine, it
is simply the camera man walking down the street along side the artist
who mimes the lyrics into the camera. The artist cuts a lonely figure at
times, particularly at the end. In my video, my artist will be sitting or
walking on his own whilst miming.
The way the artist fades out at the end, walking away, is similar to how I
want mine to end as it would suit the sound at the end of the song.
The parts where the artist is talking out of a photo isn't something
replicated in my video.
3. The second music video which I think is similar to mine is
the video for I Need by Maverick Sabre.
The narrative of this video is quite similar to mine in that it is
about I young man who is a bit lost in his life. The focus
throughout the video is on the artist, who performs for half, if
not most of the video. This is similar to my video in that I will use
a mixture of narrative and performance.
The camera shots used are similar. The mixture of close ups,
(showing a reflective facial expression) long shots and medium
shots will show the character in a lonely manner, putting all the
focus on him. This tells the audience that the narrative is all
about him.
4. Because the tempo and nature of the song is slow and
downbeat, it makes for a good comparison to my video.
Another similarity is that there are no animations or
special effects. The only effect included in the video for
I Need is slow motion.
The setting for this video is quite rural. Mine, although
set in a town, will be similar as it is a quiet, not
particularly built up area
