Background situation
 Our group, have decided to create an app that helps you to locate/find
the nearest shops that have the product that you were looking for. This
app is great to use if the product isn’t in stock in the first shop that you
went to search. We have aimed this app at children to adults (12-70)
whenever they go shopping. It helps for when you can’t find the
product that they are looking for.
Problem
 Many people have experienced this problem where they have trouble
with trying to find a product, whether it’s a gift, clothes, something
occasional etc. and is needed within days.
Question
 How long does it usually take for you to go shopping with your family?
 How much do you usually spend when you go shopping?
 What do you usually buy?
 Do you often experience this problem due to a product being out of
stock?
 Out of everyone that you have shopped with, who usually takes the
longest?
 How often do you go shopping?

 You cant find a product that you are looking for so
you have to try other shops to look for them.

 My team, [ Soler ], is developing [a mobile app] to help [shoppers]
[that are in need of a certain product from a shop that they want to
buy] [to find the product they couldn’t find in that shop]

I have found that similar apps like our stock idea. However
one of these sites don’t solve this problem because I searched
for a product and it already said that there was one left and
they didn’t tell me where the closest shop was. Whereas, our
app idea tells you where the nearest shop is that does the
product.

  • 2. Background situation  Our group, have decided to create an app that helps you to locate/find the nearest shops that have the product that you were looking for. This app is great to use if the product isn’t in stock in the first shop that you went to search. We have aimed this app at children to adults (12-70) whenever they go shopping. It helps for when you can’t find the product that they are looking for.
  • 3. Problem  Many people have experienced this problem where they have trouble with trying to find a product, whether it’s a gift, clothes, something occasional etc. and is needed within days.
  • 4. Question  How long does it usually take for you to go shopping with your family?  How much do you usually spend when you go shopping?  What do you usually buy?  Do you often experience this problem due to a product being out of stock?  Out of everyone that you have shopped with, who usually takes the longest?  How often do you go shopping?
  • 5. Key insight statement(s)  You cant find a product that you are looking for so you have to try other shops to look for them.
  • 6. Mini Elevator Pitch  My team, [ Soler ], is developing [a mobile app] to help [shoppers] [that are in need of a certain product from a shop that they want to buy] [to find the product they couldn’t find in that shop]
  • 7. User profiles Summarise what you have learnt about your users. Remember, these profiles must be based on the real users you interviewed during scoping.
  • 8. Competitors or alternative solutions that already exist in the market I have found that similar apps like our stock idea. However one of these sites don’t solve this problem because I searched for a product and it already said that there was one left and they didn’t tell me where the closest shop was. Whereas, our app idea tells you where the nearest shop is that does the product.

Yes  Can you find a simpler solution, using existing technology? We could just show any shops with the product needed, instead of the closest shops.
  • 13. Business Case  Explain what business model you have chosen and why.  How many customer pledges did you get?  Did you have to change your plans to find customers that are willing to pay? No
  • 14. Marketing Strategy  We can use Social networking sites (e.g. Facebook/Twitter)  Put up posters in shops that use our app  Advertising on television
