Five General Perspectives on Human Behavior
Origin, growth and sustenance of human relationship are controlled by human experience
that involves five general perspectives regarding the behavior of human each of which
emphasizes various factors. These factors include biological, learning, psychodynamic, social
and cultural, and cognitive perspectives (Knapp, Hall & Horgan, 2013). Happy marriage
relations are conceivably the most blissful feelings, and but at the same time also an intricate part
of relationships ever known to man. The demonstration of the love that the romantic couples
share can be easily seen by the naked and free eye. It makes us seem immature with spite when
we witness romantic couples sharing their love to one another (Knapp, Hall, &Horgan, 2013).
During those years of the formative relationship, the feeling and emotion of jubilation is always
present. Love at that time is regarded to be biological because there is the innate and essential
need to be near to somebody, to reciprocally share their feelings, to be touched, to be loved back
and cared for in equal measure. However, it should be pointed out that it takes some time for
humans attain love.
Many marital associations can be said to involve biological perspective. This is because it
is said that humans are genetically made. Laland and Brown (2002), argue that husbands require
to be sexually linked with their partners so to allow them produce their successors. The
biological aspect seems not to be romantic. It is obvious that in order to produce offsprings,
human beings are expected to practice the sexual act (Knapp, Hall, &Horgan, 2013). The
husbands and the wives are expected to perform the act in order to have their heirs. Additionally,
we should observe the romantic love as that that contain sexual fulfillment. In relation to biblical
context, it is indicated that God instructed his people to go forth, multiply and fill the world. In

the absence of sex between couples, their relationships bear a resemblance to any other
relationship a person can make with another person.
In regards to culture and social, the recent studies carried out shows that marriage love
nearly exists in every culture ever investigated. It has been observed that in certain societies and
culture, marriages are arranged by either family or, village elders; nonetheless the couples are not
compelled to marry. The husband and wife or rather the young people are expected to accept and
give approval of acceptance and admission to marriage relationship (Knapp, Hall, &Horgan,
2013). The participation of young persons in their marriage preparation is essential since
marriage has economic or political motives, like a union of two commanding families. Marital
love or romantic love stands to be despised in authoritarian or rather caste-conscious societies
and cultures. This happens because love is free and, therefore, affects power plays. The desires
of most of the women are to get husbands, and lovers. The desire to get true lovers and husbands
has pushed some women desist from marriage issues stay as they are. Moreover, it is this desire
that forced some women to remain single and unmarried.
It would be correct to point out that social and cultural issues are necessary for the
determination or the modeling of couples to be, in the society (Knapp, Hall &Horgan, 2013). The
majority of social, cultural practices of a community oblige women to obey, follow and respect
the cultural practices of the husband’s society of which the woman has to join. Disobedience to
the rules of particular social and cultural morals of the community, it can lead to rupture of the
family relationship. According Laland and Brown (2002), the culture of a particular community
raises an individual’s sense of worth. Moreover cultures that are regarded to have the potential of
promoting long and stable love relations are those which encourage increased pleasure in people,
and their ability to take action.
FIVE GENERAL PERSPECTIVES ON HUMAN BEHAVIOR 4
The fundamental supposition of learning viewpoints is that many factors of human
behavior are majorly found in the exterior environment. When those environmental measures
that relate to person’s behavior, are well examined it becomes easy to forecast the successive
behavior of an individual. In relationships when husbands and wives are well-informed, it is thus
expected that they will apply the knowledge they have gathered in life to forecast the likely
behavior that each one of them has (Knapp, Hall, &Horgan, 2013). It will be the duty of the
couples to take their time and correctly utilize such skills to know their partners. This is because
the minute the relationship has begun then the persons acquire changed the environment,
numerous problems come in this new setting that can likely break a relationship.
The psychodynamic dimensions of marriage assume that long-lasting and stable
relationships arrangement are maintained when couples are comparatively free from psychoses
and equally have a real personality or, rather self-functioning. On the other hand, it is the same
factors that lead to the healthy functioning of the mental part of humans, which makes couples to
function in a marriage approach, which shows love, and indeed defends its stability.
Psychodynamic concerns with psychological forces that influence human behavior in regards to
mindful and lifeless motivation in the marriage interaction (Knapp, Hall, &Horgan, 2013). In the
marital marriage set up, the perception of psychodynamics involves energizing of a person’s
brain through a libido process. The compound energy obtained by the brain governs the inner
struggle of an individual that is expressed via certain behaviors or emotions. It is this emotional
motive, drives, and human desires that compel someone to search for a mating partner. The
same attraction makes married people remain bounded together, and that separation becomes
nearly impossible.
FIVE GENERAL PERSPECTIVES ON HUMAN BEHAVIOR 5
In cognitive perspective couples view one another as a foundation of their marriage
conflicts. After some period in the marriage, couples view each other as adamant to change to the
positive side of life and assume that partners have continuous behavior. During courtship, it is
true that the couples mainly focused on the positive side of their partners. Nonetheless, this
changes and they begin viewing mainly the negative side of their partners. The cognitive
viewpoint on love relationships, and unwavering marriages is linked to whether people reason in
a way that responds to the demands of the stable marriage relationship (Laland & Brown, 2002).
Cognitive perception concerns on various matters in marital relationships that plays a vital role in
maintenance, stabilizing and the establishment of marital dysfunction.
In conclusion, the five general viewpoint of the behavior of humans can be observed to
involve a lot of contradicting obligations in nurturing, and sustaining love relationships. An
individual is expected to evaluate keenly and examine what each and every viewpoint in the
behavior has something relating to their action.
