Christian Easter
How do Christians celebrate
Easter ?
Some Christians fast in the
season of lent. Lent begins
on ash Wednesday the day
after pancake day. They
celebrate it this way because
of the pagan influences and
also because of the
commercialization but most
Christians prefer to celebrate
resurrection day.
Why do Christians celebrate
Easter ?
On the third day of Christ's
death he rose from the dead
and he showed himself to
his disciples. This is why
the Christians celebrate and
the reason is because it is a
miracle that he rose from
the dead.
But why do we eat
chocolate eggs ?
We eat chocolate eggs because it
symbolizes the empty tomb that
Jesus was in before he rose from
the dead.
What do rabbits/hares have
to do with Easter ?
The idea of a hare being part of
Easter is that hares can
reproduce without loss of their
virginity and this is an association
with virgin Mary.

for the Christans.
THE STORY OF WHEN JESUS DIED
Jesus was killed on the cross because he believed in
God so the roman soldiers wanted to kill him. So
when Jesus found out he was wanted dead he
had a meal with his disciples then he went into
the garden and when the soldiers came peter one
of the disciples, chopped off one off the soldiers
ears. They took him to court and he was found
guilty so they nailed him to the cross when he
died they took him to the tomb then a lady found
his body gone so she was shouting for help but
then a man came and said he was Jesus and told
her to tell everyone that he was alive. So that’s

Last Supper: On Maundy Thursday
Christians remember
when Jesus ate the Passover meal
with his disciples, breaking
bread and drinking wine, which is now
known as the Last Supper.
Many Christians remember this by
sharing bread and wine together in a
service called Holy Communion,
Eucharist or Mass. It is a reminder that
Jesus sacrificed his life for mankind.
Good Friday:
Good Friday is the Friday before
Easter Sunday. It commemorates the
execution of Jesus by crucifixion.
Good Friday is a day of mourning in
church. During special Good Friday
services Christians remember Jesus'

Why do we have the Easter Bunny?
The Easter bunny or other known as Easter Rabbit
is a character created to bring Easter eggs. In
previous legends the rabbit/bunny carries round a
colourful eggs in a basket or carries sweets and
also toys he takes them to the homes of children
and as the same as Santa because they both bring
gifts on the night before of the holiday. It was a
rabbit/hare because it was popular in medieval
church art. The idea of the bunny laying the egg
came to the us in the 18th century when German
immigrants told their children about the osterhase
,hase means hare not rabbit. According to the
legend only good children got gifts of coloured eggs
in the nests that they made in their bonnets before
easter.
EASTER
The first Easter egg came from France and Germany in the 19
century but in there day they where hard and bitter. But over the
years they became more hollow they became popular very quick.
We have Easter bunnies the Easter bunnies lays a decorate eggs

doesn't do all the work alone in Switzerland the eggs are
delivered by a cuckoo and by fox in parts of Germany.
Why we have Easter?

WE HAVE EASTER
BECAUSE IT A SIGN
OF NEW LIFE .
THE EASTER EGGS ARE A TADTION. AT
THIS TIME PEOPLE START TO GET OUT
THE TIN AND CANS AND SEND THEM
TO CHURCH SO THE PEOPLE WHO
DONT HAVE MUCH FOOD AND TO
HELP THEM
Many Christians do this thing called lent,
it starts on ash Wednesday the day
after pancake day where you give
something up for 40 days before Easter
Sunday. A lot of people give up chocolate
so when its Easter they can enjoy eating
it. The last week of lent is called The
Holly week it has the important days
Maundy Thursday(also known as Holly
Thursday), and of course Good Friday.
A lot of us may chomp on chocolate
eggs at Easter, but originally eating
eggs was not allowed by the church
during the week leading up to Easter
(known as Holy Week).
So any eggs laid that week were
saved and decorated to make them
'Holy Week eggs', then given to
children as gifts.
Victorians adapted the tradition with
satin covered cardboard eggs filled
with Easter gifts.
