7 Tips for enjoying an IBM Champion Program Eng ver.

  1. 今日は IBM Championプログラムを楽しむための7つのヒントを 私の体験をもとにお話ししたいと思います。
  2. 平岡 大祐と申します。 2019年、2020年で Cloud分野のChampionで活動しています。
  3. 私のMacBookの写真ですが 3月まで約7年間 IBMのユーザー企業でオンプレミスからIBMCloudへの移行やコンテナ化を行うプロジェクトに参画していましたので  IBMCloud全般、 コンテナオーケストレーションのOpenShift、CloudNativeな開発を加速するためのオープンソースであるKabaneroと Kabaneroを取り巻くツール群が興味があります。
  4. 私のチャンピオン活動をざっくりまとめると 「Communication」「Contents」「Collaboration」「Community」「Report」の5つに分類されます。 それでは IBM Championプログラムを楽しむための7つのヒントについて話していきたいと思います。
  5. ひとつめ、 IBM Champion Program事務局やChampionの仲間とコミュニケーションすること 事務局だとLibbyさんや日本だとTaijiさん、 Cloud分野だとSarahさんとコミュニケーション することで 困った時も解決することも多いです。 関心が同じChampionの仲間だと事例だったり・情報だったり共有することも有意義です。
  6. 2つめ 記事を書く・イベントで登壇すること 私はQiitaとIBM Communityで IBM Cloud全般、Red Hat OpenShiftを中心に投稿しています。  特にサービスを開始したとか・サービスが終了するので移行しなければならないとか人柱要素の記事を書く傾向が多いです。 あとは、TJBotで遊んでみたとかの投稿も書くことがあります。 投稿を読んでくれた方の反応や投稿がきっかけで仲間が増えるのはとても励みになります。 特に、昨年はQiitaの投稿をみたIBMのマーケティングの方からの依頼で@ITで連載したことは、仕事の幅が広がってよかったなと感じてます。
  7. 3つめ Twitter, LinkedInなどのSNSを使って情報発信すること 情報発信することによって、知名度があがってくると有益な情報が入ってくるようになったり、 同じ目的の人と何かすることか楽しんでます。自分の場合は、IBMとRed Hatの社員の方の反応が多いです。
  8. 4つめ Developer Adovocateと協力すること Developer Adovocateの方と協力することによって影響を受けるし、何かを作ることは楽しいです。 例えば原稿・スライドのレビュー / コンテンツ提供 / イベント協力をしています。 私でできることならいつでもウェルカムです。
  9. DojoのIBMChampion編でOpenShiftについてお話ししました。 別のChampionの方のお話も聞いてみたいです。 Podcastは偶然日本に来ていたNY在住の IBMのPodcast LeadのLukeさんと Meet upで知り合ったのがきっかけで 急遽、収録することになりました。Seigoさんも収録したようですが、他のChampionの方のPodcastも楽しみにしてます。
  10. 5つめ IBMerと協力すること 一例として、Twitter経由で私の関心のあるオープンソースのプロジェクトのOffering Manager とやりとりしています。 プロジェクトの有益な情報をもらったり、こちらからは プロジェクト支援で、Batch取得やSNSやMeet upをやったりとGive & Takeしてます Kabaneroは特に始まったばかりの知名度のないプロジェクトなので、やりがいがあります。
  11. 6つめ Communityに参加すること できるだけ、IBM Championのポロシャツを着て勉強会やミートアップ参加しています。 自分も参加していて楽しいですが、 ハンズオンとか参加者がIBMCloudで、何々ができないとか、悩んでいることが解決できるとやりがいを感じますね。
  12. 私が参加しているIBM Community では Bloggerを募集しています。 世界中のDeveloperが見てるので認知度が上がるし交流を深めることができるので ぜひ参加してみてください。
  13. 7つめ Reportを定期的に書いて Championの更新につなげること Activity Reportを定期的に書くことは、大変なことです。 でも、翌年度のNominationの時には書かなければなりません。 定期的にレポートを提出すると、ノミネーション開始前に、提出済みのレポートで審査してくレます。 2020年のノミネーションでは約20名対象者いました。
  14. ここまで IBM Championプログラムを楽しむための7つのヒントについて話しました。 IBM Championになった当初、正直何をすれば分かりませんでした。 ソーシャルメディアの情報発信を続けるにつれ、反応があり、徐々に楽しくなってきました。 その結果、自分自身の成長も感じてます。 それは、 Championの仲間や事務局、Adovocateの皆さんに支えられているから楽しく活動できているのです。 これからもChampionとして楽しんで活動していきます。
