5. INTRODUCTION
1. When it comes to staffing,
management seeks to identify, assess,
choose, and develop talent while also
providing for the organization's current
personnel pool.
6. DEFINITION OF STAFFING
• Staffing refers to the continuous process of
finding, selecting evaluating and developing a
working relationship with current or future
employees. (John, J., 2019.)
• Staffing refers to the managerial function of
hiring and developing employees for carrying
out the various managerial and non-managerial
functions in an organisation.
8. STAFFING PROCESS
1. Planning for Manpower
The act of determining the organization's present personnel
resources and projecting their needs is known as manpower
planning.
2. Searching
Searching for available individuals and gathering their
applications in order to choose qualified ones is the process of
recruitment.

The process of choosing the top applicant from the field of
candidates is known as selection.
4. Placement
Placement is the process of making appointments and giving
chosen applicants work in particular positions.

During orientation, new hires learn about the organization's
policies, practices, and guidelines.
6. Training and development
The enhancement of workers' specialized knowledge, skills, and
talents is referred to as training and development.

7. Evaluation of Performance
The practice of evaluating an employee's performance in relation
to performance criteria is known as performance appraisal.
8. Promotion, Demotion, and Transfer
Transfer is the last phase in the hiring process and refers to
moving an employee from one position to another. Promotion is
a reward for a job well done. A demotion is a reduction in an
employee's position level.
12. CONCLUSION
To sum up, staffing is a methodical procedure that
involves organizing personnel and assigning them
to departments based on specific needs.
Employees are the organization's most important
resource, and success is derived on their
contributions of ideas and expertise. To find
qualified workers, a staffing function is therefore
required.
