Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal
held an emergency meeting to discuss the
city’s severe air pollution and announced
a slew of measures, including shutting
schools and stopping construction for a
few days, to tackle the menace.
“All demolition and construction work will
be banned in Delhi for next five days.
Except for hospitals and emergency
places, no diesel generator sets will be
used in Delhi for next 10 days,” CM
Kejriwal announced.
“The base level of pollution was already
very high. We have consulted experts and
we are taking some emergency meas-
ures,” the Aam Aadmi Party leader added.
The Badarpur Plant will remain shut for
next 10 days whereas transportation of fly
ashes will also remain shut for next 10
days.
Kejriwal also stated that the Odd-Even
road rationing scheme will return to keep
traffic emissions in check, adding that the
possibility of artificial rain was also dis-
cussed in the meeting, but it would need
Centre’s help in that.
Even as he announced a number of steps
the government is taking to deal with the
worsening air quality of Delhi, Kejriwal
urged the capital’s residents to stay
indoors as much as possible.
Popular websites and chemists have
either run out of masks or are loaded with
orders for masks and air purifiers even as
air quality in the national capital has
plunged to hazardous levels since the
start of Diwali celebrations.
“There has been a sudden surge post
Diwali in sales of Air Purifiers. We have
sold about 100 pieces in last 2 days. We
are hopeful that this demand will increase
in near future,” Mr Gupta said.

Delhi: Information and
Broadcasting minister M
Venkaiah Naidu on
Saturday attacked those
criticising the one-day ban
on NDTV India over its
Pathankot coverage, say-
ing the “belated criticism” is
clearly “ill informed and
politically inspired” to cre-
ate a controversy. The
belated criticism of the
action proposed to be
taken against NDTV India
for violating the norms of
live coverage of anti-terror-
ist operations by security
personnel in Pathankot in
January this year is clearly
ill informed and politically
inspired, he told reporters.

India's nuclear programme making
rapid strides: Dr Jitendra Singh
Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for
Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS
PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic
Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh has said that
India’s nuclear programme has made rapid strides in the
last two years of the Government headed by Prime
Minister Shri Narendra Modi and, like in every other
sphere and department, the results have now begun to
show.

3. Column 3New Delhi, 7 - 13 November, 2016
Ms. Vijay Thakkar &
Mr. Kaushalendra
These dynasties are
mostly a democratic cre-
ation.
What is Dynastic politics -
A political family or politi-
cal dynasty is a family in
which several members
are involved in politics,
particularly electoral poli-
tics. Members may be
related by blood or mar-
riage; often several gener-
ations or multiple siblings
may be involved. Dynastic
Politics refers to a system
where multiple members
from same family hold dif-
ferent positions and thus
possessing power to
effect any policy decision.
Till 1970s India was ruled
by a single party at both
centre and states. The
party was dominated by
Nehru-Gandhi family.In
the 2014 Lok Sabha, 22
percent of MPs have a
dynastic background
Nepotism and dynastic
politics is rampant not only
in India but also in many
countries. People having
foothold in the political
arena tend to keep it for
generations.
There is no doubt that
Dynastic Politics is unde-
mocratic, for a candidate
who has a powerful back-
ing will always have an
edge over any other com-
mon person who wishes to
serve people by becoming
their representative. But
this is true for every other
profession. Generally, for
instance, a farmer will
encourage his son to
acquire his skills and be a
farmer, so goes with oth-
ers and they will have
always an edge.
Examples of dynastic poli-
tics from around the world-
USA being a democratic
country has been seeing
The Kennedy family as
one of the strongest politi-
cal dynasties in American
History with four genera-
tions of powerful politi-
cians and also the Bush
family being another
dynastic politician family
and in the present USA
election If Hilary Clinton
becomes the president
she will continue the lega-
cy of presidency from Bill
Clinton.
Dynastic politics becomes
permanent chair power
politics in the party where
diversity has no role to
play. Secondly with low or
no diversification, there
are only one or two minds
working and others are
only followers without
opposing, and that
becomes unhealthy for
the country and for the
party. India needs good
governance and better
reforms for the people
irrespective of whether it
comes from a dynastic
political family or from any
other politician. As in
democracy results matter,
the focus should not get
derailed from a socio-eco-
nomical development per-
spective whatever the
political setup.
Does dynastic politics
favour voters? In the case
of women, yes. It is as a
result of dynastic politics
that more women have
entered politics. The best
examples currently are
Mamata Banerjee and
Mayawati.

"Operation Murga" was the code-
named by the killers.
The Commercial Street police have
arrested a prime accused in the mur-
der of RSS activist R Rudresh. The
arrested is identified as Asim Shariff,
Bengaluru district unit president of
Popular Front of India (PFI).
Asim is allegedly associated with Irfan
Pasha who was earlier arrested in
connection with the case.
PFI cries foul over district president 's
arrest .
In a press conference a PFI activist
told media persons that, we feel we
have been fixed in this particular
issue. They are trying to besmirch our
reputation. But we trust the police and
the judiciary completely. Our presi-
dent Asim has been arrested the
police need to be impartial in their
approach and investigate the matter
thoroughly he said.
The police have already taken four
persons into custody, last week in con-
nection with the case. Sharif is said to
be the mastermind behind the murder.
Twelve days after the brutal murder of
an RSS worker here, police last week
claimed to have cracked the case with
the arrest of four persons in connec-
tion with the incident, which had trig-
gered a political controversy.
Rudresh, a 35-year old RSS worker,
was hacked to death by two motorcy-
cle-borne men on Kamaraja Road on
October 16 when he was with his
friends, after attending a Sangh event.
Special teams formed by city
Commissioner of Police N S
Megharikh to probe the case effected
the arrests today on the basis of cred-
ible information and added that all four
accused are residents of the city.
Hardened criminals arrested .
Bengaluru police commissioner, N S
Megharikh said, Murder of one RSS
worker called Rudresh, Rudresh was
brutally killed by two bike borne
assailants on busy kamraj road around
12.30 to 12.45pm on 16th October, it
was a quite sensitive and sensational
murder case, it was a big challenge for
the Bengaluru city police, I am happy
to say that I am relieve to say that we
have arrested four accused as two
assailants and two support team we
have recovered two bikes from them
the fellow who assaulted the
deceased was waseem and the fellow
who was riding the bike was Mazhar
and Irfan and majeeb were two others
support team who were part of the
crime .
We dint have any clue whatsoever
except the three friends whoever talk-
ing to the deceased at the time of the
murder they were also quite in a shock
so we did not have any hint and since
it was broad daylight with so much of
courage so much of oddesity there
attrotiously they have murdered so we
thought they are hired killers all that we
had put all our resources at what are
the disposal of the team .
A special team was constituted and
was headed by Addl CP East, P
Harishekaran, and supported by Addl
CPs as KSR Charan Reddy,Sharath
Chandra,R Hitendra with DCPs as
Satheesh kumar and Dr. P S
Harsha,ACPs as Ravikumar and Sakkri
was pressed into action with PIs as
Rangappa, Sreenivas, Siraj, Ramesh,
Prashanth, Mohammed Rafi, and a part
from that we have officers from the
state CID our CCB team and with BDA
other departments also and the officers
worked earlier in the city with two
retired officers helped in the case and I
can say the case was detected purely
on hard work traditional police type we
had taken lot of evidence from the
scene of offence and around places
specially CCTVs and all that wherever
CCTV were there we examined that we
could have some blur idea of the
accused. Now what is there behind the
scene who are the people responsible
in the conspiracy people behind that we
will come to know during the course of
investigation the team has done excel-
lent work and the investigation is going
on as I said we have recovered two
bikes and other evidence we will collect
during the course the team has done
excellent work again since begin we
were confidence that there is nothing
personal as some quatres were
expressing that because of personal
matters funding matters or somehow
we were not convince able, we concen-
trated on local elements because there
has to be something local which has
contributed to the murder now the
teams are working and only it is the
steep of the ice burg that we have come
to know today still whole lot work has to
be done by our teams and our teams
are in duo course I will come back to
you media to say whatever is there at
our disposal and just to assure that
kind of cooperation the media as print
and electronic media has given it was
tremendous in spreading the news
and not spreading any other irrelevant
things this is what more important for
us which has helped us or you can
imagine that despite some quatres it is
appearing that these are the accused
who has some photographs all that
and the attrotious way the accused
were still in the city it means who is
that and the all accused are from
Bengaluru only one is from R T
Nagar,J C Nagar, Viveknagar and K G
Halli so they are local people they
have some background how did they
do and all that part of the conspiracy
this is one footage we have received
and based on the footage our consta-
ble helped in nabbing the accused .
To a question on the motive,
Megharikh said "these fellows were
known to the deceased he was grow-
ing too fast and was giving trouble to a
lot of people in the community he

6. International6New Delhi, 7 - 13 November, 2016
The Pentagon has confirmed that al-Qaeda’s top leader
in Afghanistan, Faruq al-Qatani, was killed in a US
strike.
The airstrike was carried out on October 23 in Kunar
province, located 230 km east of Kabul and along the
border with Pakistan, the Pentagon announced.
“This successful strike is another example of US opera-
tions to degrade international terrorist networks and tar-
get terrorist leaders who seek to attack the US home-
land, our interests and our allies abroad,” the US
Department of Defence said.
According to the Pentagon, Qatani was al-Qaeda’s
leader for northeastern Afghanistan and was tasked with
re-establishing al-Qaeda safe havens in that mountain-
ous part of the country.
However, Afghanistan’s intelligence agency, the
National Directorate of Security, which had already
announced Qatani’s death a few days ago, identified
him as the leader of al-Qaeda in the country.
In addition to Qatani, the US also targeted Bilal al-Utabi,
another senior al-Qaeda leader and whose death is yet
to be confirmed by the Pentagon. Meanwhile, the NDS
has already announced the killing of Utabi, who it iden-
tified as Qatani’s second-in-command.

Ruing that Americans are
listening and quietly watch-
ing rhetoric and crazy
ideas of Republican presi-
dential nominee Donald
Trump, President Barack
Obama has said that vot-
ers have become numb
and such a new normal is
unacceptable.
“You hear what Trump
says, and the problem is
that it’s been happening so
frequently that we have
become numb to it. We
almost act like it’s normal.
We almost treat this like
some reality TV show,”
Obama told his supporters
at an election rally here in
Florida, a key battleground
State.
“You know one of those
shows where they have got
to bleep out every few sen-
tences because folks are
just acting crazy and say-
ing crazy stuff, and being
mean, just to manufacture
some drama so you can
collect more ratings. That
is how we are treating this
election for the most pow-
erful office on earth, as if
it’s normal,” he rued.
“We’ve become numb to it.
And it’s not. It’s not. It’s not
acceptable. It’s not normal.
You can’t make an excuse
for it. You can’t pretend it’s
not happening,” he said.
“When you talk to some
folks who are voting for
Trump, they’ll say, well,
you know, he doesn’t really
mean it, or it’s just locker
room talk. They try to justi-
fy it or excuse it. Or in
some cases they say, well,
that’s really terrible, but as
long as he supports tax
cuts for the wealthy, as
long as he supports my
agenda, I’m going to go
ahead and support him
anyway,” he noted.

Describing India as the UK’s “most impor-

In an article published in the ‘Sunday
Telegraph’ as she left for India for her first
bilateral visit outside the UK, she said
plans to promote the best of Britain during
her three-day trade mission to New Delhi
and Bengaluru.
She writes: “One of our most important
and closest friends has to be India – a
leading power in the world, with whom we
share so much history, culture and so may
values, and which is led by a Prime
Minister who is undertaking a far-reaching
programme of reform.” “In other words,
we are two countries with strong ties, a
mature relationship and an opportunity to
make that even deeper.” “That is why, I
will be travelling to India for my first bilat-
eral visit outside Europe and first trade
mission as Prime Minister, accompanied
by a range of top British businesses,
including some of our brightest small and
medium enterprises.”
“We will be promoting the best of Britain,
sending out the message that we are
open for business, and making the most
of the opportunities offered by Brexit as
the world’s foremost champion of free
trade.” The British premier, who will hold
her bilateral talks with Prime Minister
Narendra Modi on Monday, said she will
be seeking concrete steps to move the
partnership forward during the meeting.
“ will be using this visit to reaffirm the
importance of the strategic partnership we
already have, which delivers huge bene-
fits for both our countries, and to work with
Prime Minister Modi to agree concrete
steps to realise our shared vision of going
even further in our cooperation across

Delhi: Suresh
Chavhanke, owner and
editor-in-chief of
Sudarshan News Network
is likely to be arrested
after a rape, molestation
and criminal intimidation
case was filed against him
by a former employee of
his company. The FIR
also names Narayan Sai,
son of self-proclaimed
godman Asaram Bapu, for
attempt to rape.
Chavhanke has been
booked by the Noida
police under 11 sections of
the IPC including charges
of rape, unnatural sex
attempt, attempt to mur-
der, forced miscarriage,
criminal intimidation,
cheating and insulting the
modesty of a woman.
Narayan Sai faces
charges of attempt to rape
and molestation.
In his defence, Chavhanke
posted a picture of the FIR
on Twitter along with a
comment mentioning, “The
number of sections lodged
against me is bigger than
that of Dawood ( Ibrahim)”.
The FIR was registered at
the Women Police station
in Noida Sector 39 on
November 2.
The victim, aged between
35- 40, has alleged that
Chavhanke was exploiting
her since 2013 under the
pretext of marriage. When
AV spoke to Chavhanke
he said, “This is a conspir-
acy against me and it is
supported by Azam Khan
and Akbaruddin Owaisi. I
am protector of Hindu, so
all Muslims are supporting
her with funds to demor-
alise me. I will prove my
innocence and continue to
serve Dharma and
Rashtra (religion and
Nation).” According to the
FIR, the victim accused
Chavhanke of raping her
and attempting unnatural
sex with her on October 20
at his news network office.
She posted on social
media demanding the ban
of Sudarshan channel.
“After getting divorced, I
was desperate for a job, it
was then that Chavhanke
offered me a senior posi-
tion in the HR department
of his news channel,” the
victim said in her com-
plaint. According to the
police, the victim, a resi-
dent of Delhi, said she got
in touch with Chavhanke
in 2011 when he offered
her a job in the Human
Resources Department of
Sudarshan News
Network.
The victim also alleged
that Chavhanke sent her
to the ‘ashram’ of Narayan
Sai in Karol Bagh, New
Delhi, in September, 2013.
There Sai attem-pted to
rape her, she alleged. The
victim further claimed that
she was physically and
mentally tortured by
Chavhanke from 2014 to
2016. He lured her with
many future prospects and
used her for furthering his
business interests. She
said, “I just rescued my life
from his clutches, he
hacked all my gmail, face-
book and other accounts. I
was betrayed and abused
by him all the time. Mr
Chavhanke has a habit of
luring girls and molesting
them.

However, she gets into

New Delhi: S. Paramjit
Singh Sarna, President
Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi
while addressing a press
conference said that Manjit
Singh G.K. and Badal Dal
have been exploiting 1984
Sikh genocide for polariza-
tion of Sikh votes.
He further said that
demand of one thousand
crore compensation by
G.K. from the central gov-
ernment against the loss of
properties of the Sikhs in
1984 genocide is nothing
but a hollow election stunt
to benefit Badal Dal in the
forthcoming Punjab
Assembly and general
elections of the DSGMC.
Mr Sarna said when Badal
has political alliance with
the BJP at the centre then
why the idea for enhance-
ment of Ex-gratia grant to
the victims has not come in
the mind of the BJP even
after two years of their
regime? and why G.K. has
to beg for compensation
from the central govern-
ment?
