3. Almost all the underworld war
lords have some or other con-
nection with politicians and
respective governments.
Time again this fast was
established by IPS officers
and media too. Now, Former
Delhi police commissioner
Neeraj Kumar has claimed
that the Indian government
has a special relationship with
underworld don Chhota
Rajan, who was deported
from Bali in November last
year..The book, which was
released last year, also was in
the news for its disclosure
that that at one point in the
1990s Dawood wanted to sur-
render.
Before getting deported to
India, Raajan had spelled out
the names of Mumbai Police
an officer who has or has had
links with India’s most want-
ed, Dawood Ibrahim. More
over some sources even said
he is going to expose the
names of politicians and jour-
nalists who had underworld
links but looking at his own
future in Indian soil he yet not
declared any names.. Rajan
has proved one thing, and
that is the biggest gangster
worldwide wears khaki and
khadi , and in India no gang-
ster can survive without par-
ticipation by police or politi-
cian. The motives and plot
behind his arrival is not sure
but Modi was keen in bringing
Dawood to India but they
caught Rajan. Rajan had ear-
lier claimed that some in the
Mumbai Police were in touch
with Dawood Ibrahim. As per
the report, Rajan told CBI dur-
ing interrogation today that
some retired Mumbai Police
officers had acted as a bridge
between Dawood and senior
cops. Rajan, after his arrest,
had also expressed reserva-
tion over plans to lodge him in
a Mumbai jail, fearing that
Dawood may target him
there. Rajan was brought to
New Delhi early today from
the Indonesian tourist city of
Bali by a joint team headed by
CBI officials to face trial in
over 70 cases of murder,
extortion and drug smuggling
in Delhi and Mumbai. He was
taken straight to the CBI
headquarters where he was
subjected to a preliminary
round of questioning.

In India there are several discussions and
arguments been made on various issues
like terrorism, pollution , climate change,
environmental problems and many more
but have we ever deeply thought about
one of the main problems which is prob-
lem of “Overpopulation” which is also
among the matters of concern for our
country.
Today we go to various place like hospi-
tals, railway & metro stations ,airports,
famous hotels and restaurants in all the
four directions we find hub of overcrowd-
ing. According to Indian census carried
out in 2011, the population of India was
exactly 1,210,193,422 which means India
has crossed the 1-billion mark. This is the
second most populous country of the
world after china and according to a
research India will be world’s no1 popu-
lous country in 2025 surpassing China.
The human overpopulation has been
growing continuously since 1400 years
although the most significant increase in
last 50 years is mainly due to several
advancements in medical facilities. There
are various causes of overpopulation due
to declining death rates. The roots of over-
population depends on difference
between birth rates and death rates. If the
no of children born each year equals the
no of adults die each year then the popu-
lation can be stabilize. Other reason for
the problem of overpopulation is the better
medical fascilities due to which there is
rapid growth in birth rates each year.
Several types of advance treatements
have been introduced to cure various
types of disease. In todays era if people
are unable to have their own child they
just undergo through fertility test and have
their own baby and the main reason of
this problem is lack of family planning .So
to have proper control on this problem of
overpopulation there should be effective
control on these reasons.

Delhi: Human Resource Minister Smriti Irani
inaugurated the 43rd edition of the New Delhi
World Book Fair which commenced here with
China as the guest of honour country and a
theme presentation of the cultural heritage of
India.
The nine-day fair, touted as the largest in Asia,
is hosting about 30 countries in which a series
of programmes including panel discussions,
dramas, classical and folk dances, workshops,
discussions, authors’ meets, conferences,
seminars and cultural programmes will be held.
Talking about the Chinese participation, Irani
said, “I believe that 50 publishing houses and 9
eminent authors bring with them to this World
Book Fair around 5,000 titles so that through
this exchange our people across both nations
can be enriched.”
China was invited to be the guest country after
the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping here
last year where he signed a memorandum of
understanding with Prime Minister Narendra
Modi.
“During the visit of President Xi Jinping an MoU
was signed with China’s role in WBF and I am
happy to note that promise that we made
through paper has fructified in person,” the
minister said.
Referring to the growth of publishing business
in both the countries the minister said, “Today
we celebrate the exponential growth of the
publishing business both in India and China.”
Emphasising on the importance of publishing
exchanges between China and India, Sun
Shoushan, Vice Minister SAPPRFT said, “As
one of the key international book fairs the
NDWBF has set up an important platform for
cultural exchanges of Indian classic and con-
temporary works which is now going on
smoothly.”
“The important publishing exchanges between
China and India have played an important role
in cementing the friendship between people
and promoting cultural exchanges between the
two countries,” he said.
This year the fair has introduced a special
‘Navlekhan’ programme which seeks to pro-
mote and publish young authors under the age
of 40 writing in Indian languages.
Referring to the same Irani said, while this year
they are being published in 6 regional lan-
guages by next year she assured that books in
22 languages recognised by the Constitution of
India will be published.
Tickets to the fair, which is being held at the
sprawling Pragati Maidan, will be priced at Rs.
20 and sold from 9 AM till 5 PM at 47 stations
of the Delhi Metro network from January 9-17.
Schoolchildren and disabled are permitted free
entry.
“I am happy to know that this WBF gives free
invite and entry to children in school uniform,
senior citizens and physically challenged,” Irani
said.

Voices of dissent against a seminar on Ram
Janmabhoomi Temple issue being organised at the Delhi
University, grew louder when BJP leader Subramanian
Swamy said that the construction of temple is “mandato-
ry”. BJP and right wingers extended their focus from
Ayodhya’s Ram Temple to Kashi and Mathura.
Subramanian Swamy who has his hands deep in the
Ram Temple construction issue, courted controversy and
offered the “Lord Krishna’ package to the Muslim com-
munity where in return for ‘three temples’ they get to
keep ‘39,997 mosques’ in return.
Meanwhile, describing Congress president Sonia
Gandhi a “good wife”, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad too
urged her to come forward for Ram Temple’s construc-
tion which her late husband and former Prime Minister
Rajiv Gandhi once wished. After three decades, BJP and
VHP are remembering and reminding that late Rajiv
Gandhi was in favour of the construction of the Ram
Temple. Rajiv Gandhi was the prime minister of the coun-
try then with Buta Singh as the Home Minister. ND Tiwari
was the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently,
Rajiv Gandhi launched his campaign from Ayodhya
promising ‘Ram Rajya’ across the country. Today, VHP
and BJP are missing him and asking Sonia Gandhi to be
a ‘good wife’ to allow Ram Temple construction and fulfill
her husband’s dream but they are not seeking help of
PM Modi for that, strange really strange!

New Delhi: Delhi Pradesh
Congress Committee pres-
ident Shri Ajay Maken said
the highly-hyped Higher
Education Credit
Guarantee Scheme (stu-
dent loan scheme) of the
Kejriwal Government has
proved to be a big fraud
played out on the students
and parents of Delhi as
even after eight months of
the declaration of this loan
scheme, not even a single
student has availed of the
scheme. Shri Maken also
said that though the
Congress party supports
scrapping of the manage-
ment quota in nursery
admission, it should have
been done through the
amendments made in the
Delhi Education Act, which
the Delhi Assembly
approved last month, and
not through an Executive
Order. He said the Kejriwal
Government was also not
serious about deeply
probing the corruption
charges in the DDCA when
Shri Arun Jaitly was its
president, which became
evident from the fact that
the Central Government
and the Lt. Governor have
refused to approve the
enquiry committee consti-
tuted by the AAP
Government to probe the
irregularities in the DDCA.
Addressing a press con-
ference at the DPCC
office, Rajiv Bhawan here
today, Shri Ajay Maken
said that while the Kejriwal
Government in Delhi has
spent crores of rupees on
advertisements to credit
themselves for the educa-
tion loan scheme, in reality
the loan scheme was
fraught with unexplained
traps that no student has
come forward to avail of it.
He said moreover, under
the new scheme, the Delhi
Government has fixed a
unique condition wherein
parents of loan-seeking
students will have to jointly
apply for a loan being
sought by their wards as
“joint borrowers”.

6. French President Francois Hollande led a commemora-
tion as thousands gathered in Paris to pay tributes to the
victims of the terrorist attacks in the country in 2015.
HollandeAccording to The Guardian, Hollande and the
mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, unveiled a plaque and a
memorial oak tree in Paris’s Place de la Republique in
memory of those killed in a series of attacks that shook
France.
Seventeen people were killed in the Charlie Hebdo and
kosher supermarket massacres in January, and a further
130 died in the November carnage on bars, a rock con-
cert and the national stadium.
At the low-key ceremony, veteran French rocker Johnny
Hallyday performed a song in memory of 2015’s vast
street marches to mark the Charlie Hebdo attacks.

Islamic State of Iraq and Syria’s (ISIS) 62-
page long safety and security guidelines
for jihadis before they carry out attacks
show the extent to which the terror organ-
isation will go to avoid detection by intelli-
gence services.
isisShaving beards, wearing western-
style clothes and avoiding mosques are
some of the tips by ISIS to help terrorists
blend in as they plan attacks in the West.
The guide suggests militants that they
should establish cells with four or five
members before attacking and work with
only each other, having no link with any
other group, to avoid a mass neutraliza-
tion, News.com.au reports
The guidelines also suggest that limiting
the information of the upcoming attacks is
important, citing 9/11 as an example
where only four or 19 militants knew about
the nature of the operation.
ISIS jihadis are also instructed to remain
alert at all times by paying close attention
to the news and internet to know what is
happening locally and abroad.
The guide also advises them to avoid
using religious gestures or sentences like
“salam alakum”, wearing typical outfits or
visiting mosques and other Islamic organ-
isations.
It further tells them to avoid using ‘oily,
non-alcoholic perfume that Muslims use’
and switch to generic alcoholic perfume.
Firefighters contain deadlyAustralian bushfire, two killed
Cooler temperatures and easing winds on Monday helped fire-
fighters contain a bushfire that killed two people and razed 143
properties, with clean-up efforts getting underway.
The inferno, sparked by lightning six days ago, burnt through
71,000 hectares (175,000 acres) in Western Australia state,
leaving a trail of destruction, the latest in a series of summer
blazes that have so far left eight people dead. “The weather
conditions are great today and they were in the last 24 hours
so we have been able to essentially contain this fire,” Western
Australia’s Emergency Services Minister Joe Francis told
national radio. “It’s not totally under control yet but we are very
optimistic about the next 24 hours as well.” Alert levels have
been downgraded from emergency to watch and act for towns
in the area including Waroona, Hamel and Yarloop, a historic
mill community some 110 kilometres (70 miles) south of Perth
where two bodies were found in the blackened ruins of burnt-
out houses.

London: A 11-year-old
Indian-origin girl in the UK
has achieved the top pos-
sible score of 162 on a IQ
test of Mensa, becoming
one of the youngest braini-
est students in the country.
Mumbai-born Kashmea
Wahi achieved the top
score of 162 out of 162,
putting her in the league of
scientists Albert Einstein
and Steven Hawking and
in the top 1 per cent of the
country’s brightest.
“It’s overwhelming to be
compared with the likes of
Stephen Hawking and
Albert Einstein, the com-
parison is implausible and I
believe it would take loads
of achievements for any-
one like myself to be able
to get into the league of
such legends. Anyways, I
am buzzing with excite-
ment,” Kashmea said.
Both Hawking and Einstein
are thought to have an IQ
of 160.
The daughter of IT man-
agement consultants,
Vikas and Pooja Wahi, at
Deutsche Bank in London
took the test to prove a
point to her parents.
The Cattell III B Mensa test
is a well-known internation-
al evaluation process and
Kashmea stumbled upon it
while browsing her iPad.
Cattell III B has 150 ques-
tions, often assessing
comprehension through
passages of texts, while
the maximum score that
can be achieved is 161 for
adults, and 162 for under-
18s.
PathankotAttack Probe will ‘bring
out the truth’Pakistan tells US
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has told U.S.
Secretary of State John Kerry his country is swiftly inves-
tigating who was behind last week’s attack on an Indian
air force base, and that it would “bring out the truth”.
The assault on the base near the Pakistan border has
thrown into doubt diplomatic talks planned for later this
month between the nuclear-armed rivals.
Nawaz-sharifKerry, speaking to Sharif by telephone, said
he hoped the attack would not derail the talks that he
said were in the interests of regional security, according
to a statement from the Pakistani prime minister’s office
late.
“The Prime Minister told Secretary Kerry that we are
swiftly carrying out investigations in a transparent man-
ner and will bring out the truth,” it said. “The world will
see our effectiveness and sincerity in this regard.”
A meeting between the foreign secretaries of India and
Pakistan had been scheduled for Jan. 15, but it is
unclear if it will still happen, after six militants launched
an assault on Jan. 2 against the base and killed seven
security personnel.India has called on Islamabad to take
“prompt and decisive” action against militants it blames
for the assault, which only ended after a four-day opera-
tion to secure the base.

Scania to organise a multi-stake-
holder conference on Sustainability
cnp bureau
New Delhi: Scania Commercial Vehicles India Private
Limited, a leading commercial vehicles and engines
manufacturer, will host a half day conference on
Sustainability with the theme “India’s Future –
Sustainable Development and Inclusive Growth” in New
Delhi on January 14, 2016. Shri Nitin Jairam Gadkari,
Honourable Minister for Road Transport and Highways,
Government of India, will grace the conference with a
key note message.
Scania is a global pioneer in sustainable transport solu-
tions and a manufacturer of the widest range of vehicles
which run on bio-fuels such as bio-gas, bio-ethanol, and
bio-diesel. It is now clear in the Indian market that fossil
fuel based transport needs an alternative and a strategic
shift towards renewable based public transport is need-
ed. However, in order to find solutions to the challenges
that India is facing, a multi-stakeholder approach is
urgently required.
Scania is committed to do its part in implementing a
cleaner public transport system in India as well as glob-
ally through its Biofuel agenda.
With this conference, Scania aims to bring together mul-
tiple stakeholders spanning representatives from the
Government, industry, civil society as well as entrepre-
neurs to discuss best practices and a potential road map
to make sustainable transport a reality in India by creat-
ing time bound policy incentives.

Delhi: In its report to the Delhi High Court, the environ-
ment pollution (prevention and control) authority has rec-
ommended that the odd-even rule be continued, arguing
peak levels of pollution have declined. The EPCA quotes
the IIT Kanpur report on Delhi pollution in part but
ignores findings such as: about one-third of Delhi's pollu-
tion is due to outside sources, four wheelers contribute
10% of PM 10 and PM 2.5 pollution, 91% of SO2 emis-
sion is due to industry, construction is the third biggest
contributor to area-source pollution and some 9,000
coal-fired tandoors are significant polluters.
The EPCA says there is decline in intensity of smog
episodes: The graph provided by EPCA indicates peak
smog levels began to fall from around December 22,
2015, before the odd-even rule was implemented. The
level fell sharply to rise in zig-zags thereafter. The con-
centration of PM 2.5 has not gone back to December 22
levels, but it is unclear whether this is due to lower traffic
because of school holidays, year-end leave or odd-even
rule or all three.
EPCA says weather conditions are alarming but less
severe weather in the past led to pollution peaks that are
"alarming and hazardous for health". But both high pollu-
tion levels in terms of PM 2.5 and PM 10 seem directly
affected by weather.
Delhi's pollution is due to outside sources

Delhi/NCR: Consumer
Electronics Show (CES),
Lenovo announced the
development of the first
consumer mobile device
with Project Tango in col-
laboration with Google.
Available in summer 2016,
the new smartphone pow-
ered by the Qualcomm®
Snapdragon™ processor,
turns the screen into a
magic window that can
overlay digital information
and objects onto the real
world. Lenovo, Google,
and Qualcomm
Technologies are working
closely together to opti-
mize the software and
hardware to ensure con-
sumers get the most out of
the Project Tango platform.
Google’s Project Tango is
a technology platform that
uses advanced computer
vision, depth sensing, and
motion tracking to create
on-screen 3D experiences,
allowing users to explore
their physical environ-
ments via their device.
Specialized hardware and
software combine to let the
device react to every
movement of the user,
when they step forward,
backward, or lean side to
side. App developers can
transform your home into a
game level, or create a
magic window into virtual
and augmented environ-
ments. Project Tango-
enabled devices can rec-
ognize places they’ve been
before, like your living
room, the office, or public
spaces.

“We will help the LAPF partners to promote their prod-
ucts at the international level by enabling them to take
part at different marketing fora, apart from helping them
with design developments and technology,” said
Manohar Samuel, President, Marketing and Business
Development at Birla Cellulose.
He was talking at the LAPF conclave here, organised
as part of the ongoing efforts to help the partners reach
out directly to the leading women’s wear exporters and
international brands. After launching the LAPF to
aggregate the top talent in the fabric industry, Birla

Mumbai: The Royal Enfield Himalayan in these
spyshots is production ready, and according to some
reports, this particular colour scheme (wherein the White
tank complements the snowy Himalayas) is one of sev-
eral that would be offered on the adventure tourer.
Royal-Enfield-Himalayan-1
The Royal Enfield Himalayan spotted rides on spoked
wheels, and seems to offer on-and-off road type tyres. It
sports a disc brake at either end, mounts for jerry cans
on either side of the fuel tank, a swing-arm and mono-
shock suspension, a decently-sized windshield, a front
splash guard, and black-and-silver panniers with black-
painted mounts.
Some reports state that the Himalayan will be offered in
two variants – a City and Off-road model. The City vari-
ant would get alloy wheels while missing out on the
mounts for jerry cans and extended carriers.
One of the highlights of the Royal Enfield Himalayan will
be its all-new 431 cc, single-cylinder oil-cooled engine,
which according to reports, delivers 30 bhp and 32 Nm of
torque. The engine is reported to be equipped with a
Single Overhead Camshaft (SOHC) with the gearbox
being a 5-speed unit.
