In a May 9, 2024 paper, Juri Opitz from the University of Zurich, along with Shira Wein and Nathan Schneider form Georgetown University, discussed the importance of linguistic expertise in natural language processing (NLP) in an era dominated by large language models (LLMs).
The authors explained that while machine translation (MT) previously relied heavily on linguists, the landscape has shifted. “Linguistics is no longer front and center in the way we build NLP systems,” they said. With the emergence of LLMs, which can generate fluent text without the need for specialized modules to handle grammar or semantic coherence, the need for linguistic expertise in NLP is being questioned.

New Delhi : Railway minister
Mr . Suresh Prabhu
announced the annual rail
budget but before telling
about the various develop-
ments regarding railway proj-
ect he shared one of his per-
sonal experience in which he
told that on a visit to Mumbai
railway station where a lady
came to him and thank him
for allowing her NGO to
adopt the station.The railway
minister said that from last 5
months she had been volun-
teering a day every month at
station . She also said that
she felt happy to contribute
her little bit to this national
cause . In another incident
Alok tiwari an inspector in
RPF(railway protecting force
) recently deputed to social
media sale of railway board
shared his sentiments. He is
responsible for taking action
on passengers request for
help in social media . He also
said for the forst time in his
professional carrier he real-
ized how little actions make
huge difference in passen-
gers life. He felt proud to be
Indian railway. The people
like this are sole of India and
Indian railways said railway
minister.This is not my budg-
et alone . This is a budget
which reflects the aspiration
of each and every member
of the railway family said
Suresh prabhu. A budget that
reflects the aspirations of
common citizens of India
who are interacting with me
on social media also meeting
me in large number to share
their thoughts said railway
minister . This is the budget
that has been sanctioned by
creative partnership with
ideas of my collegies in the
parliament, industrial associ-
ations&, media . This budget
is inspiration to a vision and
leadership of P.M Narendra
modi . He once said my
vision is to make railways a
backbone of India’s
progress and economic
development . We are mak-
ing all our efforts to convert
his vision into rality said
Suresh prabhu.
Our objective is to improve
quality of customer experi-
ence at individual level
become engine of employ-
ment generation and eco-
nomic growth at national
level. This budget will docu-
ment a journey of transfor-
mation journey of nation ,
touching of human lifes daily.
These are challenging times
way may be one of the
tuffest we are gaced with two
headingsentering beyond
our control. The rapaid
growth of our economic core
sectors due to interanational
slowdown and looming
impact of 7th pay commis-
sion said railway minister. An
increase product to the
bonus pay out said Suresh
prabhu. For the historically
declining model sure of
Indian railway has drop from
62% in 1980 to 36% in 2012
in continuing to exert pres-
sure on institution at this
moment. Railway minister
Suresh prabhu said I rembe-
mber some few line of our
former P.M shri .Atal Bihari
Vajpayee “Vipdaayaan aati
hai aaye , hum n rukenge ,
hum n rukenge. Halation ki
kya chinta hai hum n
jhukange ,hum n jhukenge”.
Railway is an organization
has the test of time be to the
commitment of it’s employ-
ees. Over the challenge of
time require. Overall our
work culture and ethosce-
mented over years last year I
had unveiled a medium term
vision for railways which set
us on it’s transformational
journey for which now to
organize , restructure & reju-
vinile this institution said
Suresh prabhu .We need to
bring in a new approach. The
pillar of this strategy that I
(prabhu ) laying out today
reflects this new thought
process said the railway min-
ister. The Indian railway has
typically focused on increas-
ing revenues through
tarrif hikes. We want change
that and challenge our con-
ventional thinking of freight
policies to win back our
share of transportation sec-
tor said Suresh prabhu. We
will exploit new sources of
revenue so that every asset
tangiable or non tangiable
gets optimally monitised.
New malak , new norms will
be norms each rupee that
expense will be re-examined
to ensure optimal productivi-
ty said railway minister in his
budget .We will take a zero
based budget approach to
financials . We will improve
our efficiency and practices
to bring them in line with
international best practices .
We will go continue to inno-
vate and optimize or out go
on each activity . We need to
reimagine conventional way
of solving issues, corpora-
tions ,collaboration ,creativity
and communication should
be hall mark of decision
making and actions said .We
will revisit all processes, rule
and structures to enable this
and transformation . We will
drop on over inherent
strengths and these experi-
ence to immense stronger
economy and various major
outline letter.We hope to
generate revenues out of
1,84,820 cr. next year 10.1
% higher then revised target
for current year said Suresh
prabhu. The statement finan-
cial performance for 2015 –
16 and budget estimate for
receive and expenditure for
2016-17 is our next one
investment said railway min-
i s t e r .
To renew huge bat lock of
the first as well as provide for
current and future need of
organisaion . We have over-
all age hold practices .We
will continue to employ this
new approach for capital
expenditure . We manage to
break away from average
capital expenditure. The rail-
way must provide to citizens
of country a rail systemthat
they can
be proud of. A system that is
efficient and predicitable . A
system that is sparkling . In
short a system that is capa-
ble of taking care of his own
needs financially and other
wise said railway
minister Suresh prabhu.
By 2020 we look forward to
within the long desires for
the common man of our
country . High technology to
significantaly improve safety
records elimination of all
man labour crossing .
Panctuality increase to 95%
. Increase to male express
train to 80km per hour . For
the year 2016-17 we aspect
an operating ratio of 92%
after including the immediate
impact of 7th pay commis-
sion as against 90% likely to
achived in current year . It is
to note that that ordinary
working expenses grew by
32.5% in 2008-9 due to
impact of 6th pay commis-
sion. said the railway minis-
ter. While we are targeting to
restrict the growth of ordinary
expenses only 11.6% in
2016-17 . This has been
largely possible due to
extensive cost optimization
and revenue announcement
through innovative means by
next year .We already made
humble begning in this
direction as result a saving of
Rs.8724 from budget esti-
mate last year would be
effective this year said
Suresh prabhu.

Technologies has come up
with "Swachh App". It is a
cloud-based tool with sepa-
rate Web App and Mobile
Apps. It would enable people
to report cleanliness problem
(Malba & Garbage collection)
in their locality to the respec-
tive authority. There are few
other similar apps in the mar-
ket but "Swachh App" stands
out as People launching com-
plaints can also participate in
cleanliness drives through
"Swachh App" then just com-
plaining and waiting for it to
get solved. Another distinct
feature of "Swachh App" is
"SwachhApp.in" a centralised
web portal which will enlight
the persons who had or will
play a crucial role in the clean-
liness of his/her area.
How it works: People just
have to click the picture of the
unclean area of their locality
and launch the complaint with
a single click.
The respective authority will
then be alarmed regarding the
complaint and will proceed
with the complaint. People
would get timely updates of
their launched complaints on
their mobile phones. At the
same time, people can enroll
themselves as a volunteer to
undertake cleanliness drive in
their locality.
Unique features: One click to

Delhi: As a boy growing up
in post-war Korea, I
remember asking about a
tradition I observed:
women going into labour
would leave their shoes at
the threshold and then look
back in fear. “They are
wondering if they will ever
step into those shoes
again,” my mother
explained. More than a
half-century later, the
memory continues to haunt
me. In poor parts of the
world today, women still
risk death in the process of
giving life.
Maternal mortality is one
of many preventable perils.
All too often, female babies
are subjected to genital
mutilation. Girls are
attacked on their way to
school. Women’s bodies
are used as battlefields in
wars. Widows are
shunned and impover-
ished. We can only
address these problems by
empowering women as
agents of change. For
more than nine years, I
have put this philosophy
into practice at the United
Nations. We have shat-
tered so many glass ceil-
ings we created a carpet of
shards. Now we are
sweeping away the
assumptions and bias of
the past so women can
advance across new fron-
tiers.
I appointed the first-ever
female Force Commander
of United Nations troops
and pushed women’s rep-
resentation at the upper
levels of our Organization
to historic highs. Women
are now leaders at the
heart of peace and security
-- a realm that was once
the exclusive province of
men. When I arrived at the
United Nations, there were
no women leading our
peace missions in the field.
Now, nearly a quarter of all
United Nations missions
are headed by women --
far from enough, but still a
vast improvement.
I have signed nearly 150
letters of appointment to
women in positions as
Assistant Secretary-
General or Under-
Secretary-General.

a day, not only to appreciate, respect and love women
but a day to celebrate women's economic, political, and
social achievements. Since its birth in the socialist move-
ment, the day has grown to become a day for recognition
of women's issues and celebration of their rights across
developed and developing countries alike. Some coun-
tries have even declared it as an official holiday.
Women's organisations and governments around the
world hold events to honour women's progress so far
and motivate them to continue their struggle for complete
equality. A global web of rich and diverse local activity
connects women from all around the world which include
political rallies, business conferences, government activ-
ities and networking events, local women's craft markets,
theatre performances, fashion parades et al. Apart from
being a salute to the spirit of womanhood, the day is a
diligent reminder of the continued vigilance and action
required to ensure that women's equality is gained and
maintained in all aspects of life.
After almost 100 years of struggle, women's issues may
seem to have vanished, what with greater equality in leg-
islative rights, and an increased visibility to women who
hold positions of power, one could think that women
have gained true equality. But unfortunately, that is not
the case. Even today, women are denied basic equality
in the form of equal pay for equal work, equal represen-
tation in business or politics, education, health. The
cases of violence
against women have also been increasing alarmingly. As
we mark International Women’s Day, we should act on
our collective unfinished agenda, wherever we live.
Despite the genuine progress that has been achieved,
our work remains incomplete. Even where laws exist to
protect women from harm, enforcement is often lacking.
Moreover, gains have been uneven, not only from one
geographic region to another but within countries across
urban and rural divides. The situation may look rather
gloomy, but it is not a time to lose heart! Great
improvements have been made. We do have several
women who are astronauts and prime ministers, women
who can work and have a family at the same time,
women who have real choices. Thus, Women's Day has
changed from being a reminder about the negatives to a
celebration of the positives.
Empowering women and girls worldwide is strategic and
smart. No country can get ahead if it leaves half of its
population behind. This is the great, unfinished agenda
of the 21st century.

Hello people. Busy life
ahead. To much to handle.
Got stuck up.. here I am
enclosing an article for the
people who are confused
for the mixed feeling.
So you are confused right?
Here we go...
As buddha said
When u like a flower you
pluck it. But when u love a
flower u water it daily.
That's the difference
between love and like. It's
for those who says they
are confused.
Love is not one day care.
It's a continuous effort giv-
ing emotion without any
expectation.. And all that
unconditionally (remember
the way your mom do
everything for you its
unbeatable example of
love.)
Interestingly it's moving
towards the road that u
don't know where is going
to end but u still want to go
from it. It's feeling.. its a gift
of God. Not everyone is
special to have it.
So next time if u feel con-
fused just ask yourself
weather you seriously want
to go into it. And your
answer will decide your
destination.

Do we live in a dead democracy? We have
ideas, thoughts, passion, and dreams in our
eyes, in mind, and in the hearts. We want
change, change the hollow system. We all are
been fed up with the political conflicts, debates
which have no results. "Freedom of Speech
and Expression" this words are been so com-
plicated. Which type of freedom it is. When few
of us try to express ourselves, controversies
begins and such controversies leads to no
results except the disillusion that yeah, the
people in parliament is actually thinking about
us.
A community's violent protest in which few
innocents were killed and women been raped
(gangraped) might be fair. We live in a democ-
racy where women are being judged from their
outfits. The democracy where the power of
arms speaks instead of parliament or constitu-
tion. The victim becomes alive carcass threat-
ened by the society to keep silence for so
called 'ijjat' 'the honour'. We live in a double
standard democracy. How many such culprits
are living their lives' peacefully because they
know about the so called 'ijjat' tradition of soci-
ety which not lets the victim raise the voice
against such molestation where their souls are
tortured and bodies are being injured.
In some other region, the education institute's
leader faces having some bold intensions
comes and talk about the Kashmir's azaadi
along with Bharat's barbaadi. Perhaps they
misspoken or we misunderstood, the action
taken against them for their words. 'Bharat'
what it stands for is confusing, everyone has its
own definition. There's a dark Bharat in which
the beauty is trapped that is Kashmir. We
respect army as they work hard even sacrifice
their lives for our security.

Bangalore: "The farmers
were protesting in Kolar and
Chickballapur for the past 165
days demanding drinking
water,” but there was no
response from the govern-
ment. The Police
Commissioner has issued an
order banning entry of lorries
and tractors into the city.
Motorists were advised to
avoid roads around the city
railway station on Thursday
from 10 a.m., as farmers will
take out a rally to the
Freedom Park to press for a
permanent solution to the
water problem in Kolar and
Chickballapur.
Farmers clash with cops.
Police detain several pro-
testors.
Massive Traffic Jam In
NAMMA City.
The protest march by around
2000 farmers riding tractors
from Kolar and Chickballapur
turned violent when they tried
to break the barricades put up
by the police. The police
resorted to lathi charge to
tame the crowd.The police
detained leaders R. Anjaneya
Reddy and Kodihalli
Chandrashekhar before chas-
ing the protesters at Windsor
Manor junction. Hundreds of
tractors were abandoned by
farmers on the busy Bellary
road leading to traffic chaos.
The protesters also damaged
a BMTC bus by pelting stones
and damaging the bumper of
the vehicle. Earlier Mr. Reddy
told media persons that the
agitation was to bring the
plight of farmers to the notice
of the government .
The road to the Bengaluru air-
port was blocked for almost
three hours on Thursday
afternoon, with thousands of
farmers from several districts
of drought-hit Karnataka arriv-
ing in the capital to stage a
protest in front of the state
secretariat. The protesters,
who drove into Bengaluru
from Chikkballapur, Kolar,
Tumkur and Bengaluru Rural
districts, allege a lack of sup-
port from the state govern-
ment at a time of acute farmer
distress and say they want a
permanent solution to the irri-
gation crisis in the state.
Tension prevailed when
police tried to stop farmers
getting into the city.
Agitated farmers broke the
barricades. Herding to their
demands, the police allowed
them to park tractors at
Palace Grounds. From there,
the protestors took a march to
Freedom Park.
Police resorted to a lathi
charge to disperse farmers
and detained leaders
Kodihalli Chandrashekhar
and others who tried to break
the barricades at Cauvery
Junction.
Farmers left their vehicles on
the road and left after the lathi
charge .
Traffic was also disrupted at
Hoskote and K.R.Puram. Due
to the inflow of tractors into
the city, traffic in several parts
of the city has been disrupted.
With an estimated crop loss in
70 per cent of the sown area,
Karnataka was the first state
in the country to declare
drought in the Rabi season
this year. It has sought Rs
1,400 crore in central aid.
Protestor said, The Protests
demanding clean drinking
water to residents of
Bayaluseeme has entered
day 154. We had been
protesting non-stop but the
government did not take us
seriously. We protested to get
the government's attention if it
took 154 days to get the gov-
ernment's attention God
knows how many days will be
required to fill our empty tanks
and borewells. We are
extremely worried about this
he said. Kodihali
Chandrashekar, President of
farmers association told
reporters, We are drinking
poison instead of water. We
want water, what is the gov-
ernment doing? We are
protesting as we want the
government to introduce a
clean water supply scheme.
Had the government paid us.
The people of Bayaluseeme
are angry and protested suf-
fering for long. They are
protesting after their demands
were neglected for long. If
they think lathi-charge and
arrests is a solution to the
problems then the simply dis-
plays the stupidity of the gov-
ernment. They must encour-
age this otherwise the gov-
ernment will have to face
tough situation in the future.
Another women protestor told
reporters, They lathicharged
the farmers and this has wor-
ried them. We will hold a
meeting and think of a future
course of action. Supplying
water from Yetinahole reser-
voir is not enough. We want
clean water.
Protests cripples
Bengaluru :
Prasad, Auto Driver, told, the
traffic jam started in the morn-
ing and continued for three to
four hours in the afternoon. It
eased after that. I was travel-
ing from majestic and was
stuck for 45 minutes and still
have to travel. Many ambu-
lances stuck in traffic. The
traffic jam was a testing time
for families of patients who
were being transported in
ambulances. Those stuck in
roads included women in
labour and a patient with a
urinary tract infection. School
children stuck for nearly three
hours : Students, whose
schools are located in and
around Hebbal and
Yelahanka, were stuck in the
traffic jam for over three hours
while returning home. Many
had to wait in the exam cen-
tres after appearing for their
board examinations.
Meanwhile in the evening
Director General of Police
(DGP) Omprakash with
Bengaluru Police
Commissioner N.S .
Megharikh with other senior
officers were present and
DG&IGP Om Prakash told
media persons that they have
tried their best to prevent a
major law and order situation
and the police functioned with
maximum restraint. He said
Commissioner with other top
officials from the department
were present when the pro-
testors were trying to enter
the city at Devanahalli along
Ballari road. Initially about 40
tractors came. Our men
stopped them and ensured
that they are parked on the
road side. But later more
vehicle came in and this cre-
ated the problem.
We tried to explain them the
government order about not
to allow such vehicles.
But some of these vehicles
went over the barricade and
almost ran over a police man
before entering the city.
All along the way into the core
city, we tried the convince
them from entering core city.
At Cauvery Theatre junction
and Windsor Maner junction
there were stone pelting inci-
dents and we had to inter-
vene. During this time, some
amount of pushing happened
between the agitating farmers
and lathis were used to push
them so that to situation could
be brought under control.

New Delhi: In an exclusive study conducted by Global
ACT (Global Academy of Consulting and Training), it was
found that more than 88% employees in an organization
are Passengers while remaining 12% are drivers, result-
ing in lack of efficiency, quality and loss of productivity
within the organization. Considering the study findings,
Global ACT announced a 1- day long public seminar, on
“Everything about Leadership”.
The Open House, recently organized in the capital pro-
vided an excellent learning platform for exchange of
ideas amongst the highly interdisciplinary group of partic-
ipants.Everything about Leadership Program was
designed to help participants unlock their leadership
skills which can give them edge over others. Industry
analysts forecasts that by next year, 15 to 18 percent of
leadership positions will be unfilled—or will be filled by
lesser deserving candidates.
