Storage
• Plasterboards should
be stored horizontally,
in a dry location and
raised off the ground.
• Supports should be in
place every 400mm
and must be level.

• Incorrect storage will
lead to boards
becoming warped or
wet and unusable.
• Cover with plastic
sheeting if they have
to be left outside.

Handling
• Plasterboards should
be carried on their edge
by two people.
• They should not be
carried flat, as they
might break.
• There are lots of lifting
aids available to assist
in carrying.

Did you know?

industry are caused by manual handling!!!
A common cause is from twisting caused by handling
sheet materials such as plasterboards.

When fixing plasterboards to ceilings, you should
use a scaffold platform to avoid having to stretch.
Make sure the platform is at the correct height.

boxes.
• Single beads can be
purchased.
• It needs to be stored flat
or stood upright.
