I spend most of my writing and reading time focusing
on how to improve. This slide set does this as well, but
  by listing behaviors and patterns that hinder or in
 many cases stop improvement. This list is for us to
look at and see what we recognize in ourselves. If we
 can see our faults, we can begin efforts to overcome
them, to improve. Please resist the temptation to shift
the focus from yourself. The rewards will be worth it.
We do not need to correct all findings at once, but we
can start somewhere. May reviewing this list help you
      in your improvement process.-T Curtis

 Do not set goals

 Refuse to measure yourself or group

 Continually change course               Focus on
 Find excuses for failure
                                        others when
 Claim to be special

 Prefer potential to results           finding fault,
 Seek to seem, rather than to be
                                        and you will
 Believe your own hype

 Practice self justification             back door
 Never be wrong
                                       yourself exalt.
 Avoid responsibility

 Learn but never apply
Ways we hinder improvement
 Do not plan

 Practice self-deception

 Speak in "if only" language                      Goals are for
 Always blame others
                                                  others, but
 Refuse to see opportunity for self improvement

 Fault find in others                             not for me, I
 Blame the system
                                                  would rather
 Expect entitlements

 Require customization in everything                have my
 Always put off to tomorrow
                                                  options free.
 Avoid figurative mirrors

 Be quick to offense

 Constantly complain

 Fault the equipment

 Expect someone else to set your path

 Be paralyzed by too much choice

 Claim too little information

 Compare personal strength to others weakness
                                                    Improvement
 Feel sorry for self                                is for another
 Always talk about effort and never about results

 Refuse to acknowledge others' accomplishment
                                                    day, today is
 Be jealous                                         but to laugh
 Always feel safe
                                                      and play.
 Build protection around your ego

 Accept status quo in all you do

 Claim uniqueness only when needing an excuse
Never do anything
you are not already
     good at

  • 3. I spend most of my writing and reading time focusing on how to improve. This slide set does this as well, but by listing behaviors and patterns that hinder or in many cases stop improvement. This list is for us to look at and see what we recognize in ourselves. If we can see our faults, we can begin efforts to overcome them, to improve. Please resist the temptation to shift the focus from yourself. The rewards will be worth it. We do not need to correct all findings at once, but we can start somewhere. May reviewing this list help you in your improvement process.-T Curtis om

Avoid responsibility Learn but never apply

Avoid figurative mirrors Be quick to offense

Relish others' failure Constantly complain Fault the equipment

Ways we hinder improvement Expect someone else to set your path Be paralyzed by too much choice Claim too little information Compare personal strength to others weakness Improvement Feel sorry for self is for another Always talk about effort and never about results Refuse to acknowledge others' accomplishment day, today is Be jealous but to laugh Always feel safe and play. Build protection around your ego Accept status quo in all you do Claim uniqueness only when needing an excuse
