 You are looking to engage your visitors and
  encourage them to return while also fulfilling
  the needs of the search engines.

• Fully optimized content will keep the
  search engines happy and help to boost
  your rankings.

• Make sure that your content includes
  the keywords that you are looking to
  rank for.
META DATA
What is Meta Data?

 Your meta data includes your website’s title,
  description, and keywords or tags.

 You want to have Heading tags, known as H1, H2, H3,
  etc.

 Also be sure to have internal links and a site map.

 Basically, how your web site is coded makes a
  difference to the search engines.
KEYWORDS
• “Keywords” are the terms used when someone is
  doing a search online.

• Once you have found the best keywords your web
  site can rank for, you will want to make sure that
  you include these keywords on your web site.

• Each page of your web site can be optimized for a
  different keyword phrase.
KEYWORD DENSITY
 You can use keywords throughout your content as
  well as in your meta data.

 The keywords are for the spiders, but the content is
  for your visitors.

 You want to try and use the keywords often, but
  ultimately write for the reader not for the
  spiders.
CONTENT-ENGAGE VISITORS
• Content is what will drive people to your web
  site. The more you offer them, the more they will
  come back, interact, and share with their friends.

• Frequent, relevant content is key. The search
  engines rewards sites that offer quality as well
  as quantity. Blogging is the best way to create new
  content.
CONTENT
Keep in mind that content isn’t
restrictive to text.

Pictures are a quick way to
engage your visitor, especially
with images; such as, info
graphics.

Be sure to add alt-text to each
image.
VIDEO
 Video is extremely powerful content to put on
  your site.

 Not only does it hold people’s interest, but it is
  also highly valued by the search engines.

 Sites with videos convert better.
VIDEO
• People enjoy watching videos.

• Videos are a quick way to learn new things.

• On average, people spend 27 minutes a day watching
  videos on YouTube.

• You can get visitors to know, like, and trust you
  through videos. You can share other people’s videos
  as well.
CALL TO ACTION
 Tell your visitor what you want them to do.

 Subscribe to your newsletter or tips.

 Offer a give-a-way, a coupon, a discount, free guide,
  or free consultation.
FORMS
Having a Lead Capture Form on your website helps
you to build a list of leads while offering something
helpful in return.
TRACKING
Make sure to have Google Analytics installed on your
web site. The reports will give you great
information on how people are engaged on your site.
What pages they look at, how long they stay on your
site, how they got to your site, and more.

  • 3. BASICS  An important point to remember is that your web site needs to do more than just look nice.  You are looking to engage your visitors and encourage them to return while also fulfilling the needs of the search engines.
  • 4. BASICS • Fully optimized content will keep the search engines happy and help to boost your rankings. • Make sure that your content includes the keywords that you are looking to rank for.

META DATA What is Meta Data?  Your meta data includes your website’s title, description, and keywords or tags.  You want to have Heading tags, known as H1, H2, H3, etc.  Also be sure to have internal links and a site map.  Basically, how your web site is coded makes a difference to the search engines.
  • 6. KEYWORDS • “Keywords” are the terms used when someone is doing a search online. • Once you have found the best keywords your web site can rank for, you will want to make sure that you include these keywords on your web site. • Each page of your web site can be optimized for a different keyword phrase.
  • 7. KEYWORD DENSITY  You can use keywords throughout your content as well as in your meta data.  The keywords are for the spiders, but the content is for your visitors.  You want to try and use the keywords often, but ultimately write for the reader not for the spiders.
  • 8. CONTENT-ENGAGE VISITORS • Content is what will drive people to your web site. The more you offer them, the more they will come back, interact, and share with their friends. • Frequent, relevant content is key. The search engines rewards sites that offer quality as well as quantity. Blogging is the best way to create new content.
  • 9. CONTENT Keep in mind that content isn’t restrictive to text. Pictures are a quick way to engage your visitor, especially with images; such as, info graphics. Be sure to add alt-text to each image.
  • 10. VIDEO  Video is extremely powerful content to put on your site.  Not only does it hold people’s interest, but it is also highly valued by the search engines.  Sites with videos convert better.
  • 11. VIDEO • People enjoy watching videos. • Videos are a quick way to learn new things. • On average, people spend 27 minutes a day watching videos on YouTube. • You can get visitors to know, like, and trust you through videos. You can share other people’s videos as well.
  • 12. CALL TO ACTION  Tell your visitor what you want them to do.  Subscribe to your newsletter or tips.  Offer a give-a-way, a coupon, a discount, free guide, or free consultation.
  • 13. FORMS Having a Lead Capture Form on your website helps you to build a list of leads while offering something helpful in return.
  • 14. TRACKING Make sure to have Google Analytics installed on your web site. The reports will give you great information on how people are engaged on your site. What pages they look at, how long they stay on your site, how they got to your site, and more.
