This document outlines learning targets for students to understand contact and non-contact forces and how they affect the motion of objects. Students will learn to distinguish between contact and non-contact forces, demonstrate how each can change an object's motion, describe what happens when multiple forces act on an object in the same or opposing directions, and relate changes in motion to balanced and unbalanced forces. Students will also explain motion relative to a point of reference, describe motion in terms of distance, time and direction, and demonstrate how to measure and represent motion on a graph.
