Working Title:
I called my game Zombieland. I chose this name because I
ended up designing my game around the movie.
Audience:
My target audience is 13+ year olds, and will most likely cater
towards the male audience because of stereotypical violence.
I feel like my game will appeal to this group because research
found that men are more likely to purchase a game that has
some form of violence involved. For my game, I haven’t
chosen any specific sexuality to cater towards. The social
grade I think my game will most likely cater towards would be
C2(skilled working class) this is 21% of the population.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
When I first began the course, I had to create a advergame
for irn-bru. Because of that I acquired knowledge of how to
make a basic animation that looks like a game.
I have acquired skills in Photoshop, things such as how to
create a walking sequence, how to organize frames and
slides within Photoshop. I learnt that it’s important to name,
group and organize your layers when working with a lot of
them since they can easily be confused with other ones.
I have learnt that its important you create a game that your
target audience would actually want to play. So, looking at
stereotypical things that cater to that specific age and gender
group will help when it comes to planning my game.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The game I plan on creating takes the characters, colour
scheme and sounds from a movie named “Zombieland”. The
idea for the game is that I create a level that mimics a scene
in the movie, and because I have chosen to create a side
scrolling game the scene that I will chose will most likely be

one with a lot of movement in it.
To help with my game I will look into watching the movie, this
will help when it came to choosing which character to
animate.
Other research I have done is looking into other zombie
themed games, such as the walking dead. The walking dead
gave me an idea of what a good storyline is like within a
game.
The overall idea for my game is that there will be a character
within a city setting fighting to get to the end of the level
without getting eaten. There will include one character, a
choice of weapon and a zombie in the frame.
For the background of my game I don’t want it to be too
detailed because I don’t want the concentration of the player
to drawn away from the game play.
I also want to include a quite detailed menu screen, I want to
include things such as, character selection, difficulty and
previous stats.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I will evaluate my work by breaking down specific parts of the
game. I will look at how it catered to my chosen audience. I
would also look at what I would change if I was to create it
again. I will be talking about how I can improve the written
work and the production work.
