This document contains weekly reflections from a student named Harry on the process of producing a music video. In week 1, Harry chose a song and started researching the artist. In week 2, Harry continued writing a proposal and researching conventions by analyzing real music videos. In week 3, Harry did experiments editing the song and created a storyboard and shot list. In week 4, Harry improved work and started filming, though weather delayed some shooting. In week 5, Harry redid the storyboard and shot list, finished filming and editing, and exported the final video.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2. Production reflections
• This proforma is to record how you worked on your production
• You should complete this each week during production
• Consider all relevant areas that you covered that week
• Think about what worked/what didn’t work/how you can improve
and actions for the following sessions/weeks
3. Process – week 1
• I started looking at my initial ideas. I
looked at a range of songs and
chose three that I had good ideas
for. I had to change one song and
idea because it wasn’t going to
work.
• I chose the best song and idea that
would be suitable for the type of
song and the target audience. I
started researching the artist
looking at the type of work they’ve
done and who there target audience
is.
• I was mean’t to start my research
and experiments later this week,
but I wasn’t at college on the day.
• I started writing my proposal over
the weekend, which helped me get
further ahead.
4. Process – week 2
• I continued writing my proposal
which finished on the first day of
the week.
• I started my research. I looked at
the songs I chose and the real
videos, looking at the conventions,
stories, sounds, editing and
camera angles. This helped me
because it made me think about
the features to include in my
video.
• I started doing some experiments
later this week – I practiced doing
a distance shot of a potential
scene in my video. This helped
because I could see what was
good about it and what I needed
to improve for my actual video.
5. Process – week 3
• I did an experiment with the chosen
song – I cut out the first and second
verse to see which chorus would
work well with the start of the song.
The first chorus worked better with
the start of the song because it
made it flow better. If I used the
second chorus with the start of the
song, it would have sounded
unattractive, putting the audience
off watching the video.
• I drew a storyboard, but wasn’t
happy with it because the drawing
was poor, making it hard to
understand.
• I did my shot list. This helped me
because it made me think about the
sequence of the video. It made
more sense than the storyboard
because it was easier to understand.
6. Process – week 4
• The first three days of the week I
spent improving bits of work I
thought could be better. My
mentor in Learning Support
helped me proof read everything
which helped because I wasn’t
sure if it made sense.
• I started filming my video. I
needed to be outside for some
filming, but the weather was bad
so I had to move it to another day.
I started editing the scenes I
managed to film.
• I started writing my evaluation
over the weekend so I can spend
more time on filming/editing next
week.
7. Process – week 5
• I redid my storyboard because the hand
drawn one was very poor and hard to
understand. I also redid my shot list as
some of the scenes had changed – I
didn’t need to film as much as I thought I
did.
• I filmed the scenes I couldn’t film last
week and put them into the edit, and I
got all the assets I needed.
• I had to edit the song again because the
video wasn’t as long as I was hoping. I
had to put the end of the song after the
second chorus. I wasn’t happy about it
because I thought the timing wouldn’t
work, but it did.
• I finished editing my video and exported
it to my blog.
