2. DOCTORS WITHOUT BORDERS
• They are an organization of medical-humanitarian action: they assist people threaterved by armed
conflicts,violence ,epidemics,natural disasters …
• In 1967, the Nigerian province declares its independence and causes famine in the population. And that is
why journalists and doctors come together to create the NGO "Doctors Without Borders" in 1971.
3. SAVE THE CHILDREN
• On May 19, Eglantyne Jebb and her sister Dorothy Buxton founded Save the Children at
an event held in London.
• Their first project is to feed thousands of Austrian and German children who suffer the
war.
• They are a movement that seeks to prevent children from dying, living in poverty and
seeking to give them an education.
• They work in more than 120 countries defending the rights of children
4. THE NORWEGIAN REFUGEE COUNCIL (NRC)
• The secretary general of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) remembers well the serious humanitarian
crisis on the border between Iraq and Turkey.
• The Refugee Agency, UNHCR, went to Norway in search of assistance due to the large number of people in
need to support the humanitarian response.
• It has been 25 years since that first mission and NORCAP has become one of the capabilities of leading
experts in the world.
• Today, we deliver peace and development, to protect the lives, rights and livelihoods of affected
populations.
