Мета: повторити назви музичних інструментів та стилів музики та розвивати
навички вживання лексики в мовленні; розвивати навички сприймання на слух;
вдосконалювати навички читання; розвивати навички усного монологічного
мовлення; навчати учнів використовувати англійську мову як засіб спілкування;
розвивати увагу, пам’ять та зацікавленість до даної теми; виховувати любов до
музики та шанобливе толерантне ставлення до смаків інших людей.
Очікувані результати: розрізняти музичні стилі та вміти охарактеризувати їх,
описувати почуття, які вони викликають; називати музичні інструменти та
описувати їх, розрізняти групи, до яких вони належать; розуміти на слух
розповідь про стилі музики і вплив музики на нас; вміти розповідати про свої
вподобання в музиці.
Тип уроку: урок активізації мовного та мовленнєвого матеріалу.
Обладнання: підручник з англійської мови А. Несвіт 2016 рік, мультимедійна
презентація, аудіо запис діалогу, відеозапис тексту, картки-смайлики.
Хід уроку
І. Організаційна частина
1. Привітання
T: Good morning, children!
Ps: Good Morning to the school,
Good morning to the flag,
Good morning to the pencils and the pens.
Good morning to the teacher,
Good morning to the kids,
Good morning to learning with my friends.
2. Повідомлення теми і мети уроку
Dear children, the topic of our lesson is “Music in our life”. At this lesson we will do
a lot of work. We’ll read some texts, write an exercise, listen to the dialogue and watch
the video and speak about music. At the end of the lesson you will be able to:
- distinguish musical styles, characterize them and describe the feelings they evoke;
- name the musical instruments and describe them, distinguish the groups which they
belong to;
- understand the dialogue about the styles of music and the text about the influence of
music on us;
- speak about your preferences in music.
The motto of our lesson is “Music is the soundtrack of our life” (S.2).
Music accompanies us all our live. It supports us and helps to overcome difficulties.
Today's lesson is relevant to a difficult period in our life. Music helps to find support
in life and teaches everyone to find some consolation. Let’s start the lesson!
3. Мовленнєва зарядка
You can see two musical instruments: the guitar and the drum. Certain letters are
written on these instruments. You have to guess 5 styles of music and describe them
briefly. Good luck! (S.3).
P1: “Blues” – traditional Black American music.
P2: “Gospel” – originally sung by American slaves. The songs are still heard in
churches in the southern USA.
P3: “Reggae” – this started in Jamaica and is a mixture of music from African roots
and rhythm and blues.
P4: “Rap” – in the 1980s DJs in American clubs began half singing and half talking
over instrumental records.
P5: “Jazz” – an American musical art usually played on the saxophone.

Let’s revise the musical instruments. Look at the musical instruments and name them.
Say what type they belong to. Complete the table with the names of instruments in
writing (S.4).

Look at the screen. John's phone is broken, you must fill in the gaps in the message
with the correct words. Let’s start (S.5).

- Pre listening
Do you like to watch a game/quiz show or a talk show? Would you like to be invited
to such a show?
Ps: Yes, I do. In my opinion, this is very interesting.
- While listening
Let's listen to the dialogue between the TV host and Archie. Answer the questions:
Who of the famous singers is mentioned in the conversation?
What style of music did he play and sing?
- Post listening
Listen to the dialogue once more and fill in the blanks. Look at the screen and we will
begin (S.6).

2. Розвиток навичок читання. Робота в міні-групах
- Pre reading
Answer the questions:
1. What is your favorite kind of music?
2. What is your favorite musical instrument?
3. Can you play any musical instrument? If so, which one? (I study at a music
school and play the bagpipes).
4. Would you like to learn to play a musical instrument?
- While reading
Let’s divide into 4 groups. Each group will read its text. On the screen, you see photos
of four children. Try to guess who can play which musical instrument. Match your text
with one of the picture (S.7).
- Post reading
Describe the musical instrument mentioned in your text to others.
Ps: The French horn is a wind instrument which is made of special tubes.

Do you think the music we listen to affects our mood or life in general?
- While listening
Let's watch the video, and after watching read the sentences and say if they are true or
false (S.8).
1. Music can instantly change our mood

3. Everyone grows up with sounds and music around them
4. Music preferences do not change over time
- Post listening

on the screen (S.9).

1. Домашнє завдання
Make up a short story about the role of music in your life and your favorite music style
and present it in the class (8-9 sentences).
2. Підведення підсумків уроку. Рефлексія учнів
Our lesson is coming to the end. Look at the screen, choose one of the questions and
answer it and show me one of the emoticons, how you feel about each question (S.10).
I hope you understand that music plays an important role in our lives. Music supports
us and helps us in various situations in our life.

  • 2. 2. Повідомлення теми і мети уроку Dear children, the topic of our lesson is “Music in our life”. At this lesson we will do a lot of work. We’ll read some texts, write an exercise, listen to the dialogue and watch the video and speak about music. At the end of the lesson you will be able to: - distinguish musical styles, characterize them and describe the feelings they evoke; - name the musical instruments and describe them, distinguish the groups which they belong to; - understand the dialogue about the styles of music and the text about the influence of music on us; - speak about your preferences in music. The motto of our lesson is “Music is the soundtrack of our life” (S.2). Music accompanies us all our live. It supports us and helps to overcome difficulties. Today's lesson is relevant to a difficult period in our life. Music helps to find support in life and teaches everyone to find some consolation. Let’s start the lesson!
  • 3. 3. Мовленнєва зарядка You can see two musical instruments: the guitar and the drum. Certain letters are written on these instruments. You have to guess 5 styles of music and describe them briefly. Good luck! (S.3). P1: “Blues” – traditional Black American music. P2: “Gospel” – originally sung by American slaves. The songs are still heard in churches in the southern USA. P3: “Reggae” – this started in Jamaica and is a mixture of music from African roots and rhythm and blues. P4: “Rap” – in the 1980s DJs in American clubs began half singing and half talking over instrumental records. P5: “Jazz” – an American musical art usually played on the saxophone.

Would you like to learn to play a musical instrument? - While reading Let’s divide into 4 groups. Each group will read its text. On the screen, you see photos of four children. Try to guess who can play which musical instrument. Match your text with one of the picture (S.7).
