3 Use Cases towards All Inclusive Mainstream ICT

The current presentation presents the approach followed for the derivation of the Use Cases developed in the context of ÆGIS Integrating Project (Grant Agreement: 224348) of the 7th Framework Programme, which constitute the core outputs of the user needs phase of the project, together with the Personas and the conceptual models, setting the basis for the upcoming development and evaluation phases of the project. ÆGIS aims to embed support for accessibility through the development of an Open Accessibility Framework (OAF), upon which, open source accessibility interfaces and applications for the users as well as accessibility toolkits for the developers will be built. Within ÆGIS, three mainstream markets are targeted, namely the desktop, rich Internet applications and mobile devices/applications market segments. The Use Cases developed address all three application areas, targeted by ÆGIS. The User Centred Design (UCD) plan defined from the early beginning of the initiative constituted the cornerstone of the work for the Use Cases, Personas and conceptual models. Following this plan, the project Use Cases have built on the outcomes of the field trials and the workshops (national and Pan-European), where a representative sample of all ÆGIS targeted user groups has participated and the valuable expertise of the ÆGIS Consortium members. Following a concrete development methodology, 36 Use Cases (12 for desktop, 15 for mobile and 9 for rich Internet applications), accompanied by Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams, 17 Personas covering all major target groups of the project and 13 conceptual models, which are mapped to the Use Cases, have emerged. The Use Cases will be further elaborated to specific application scenarios that will orient the evaluation to take place in ÆGIS in three iterative phases and across 4 Pilot sites (Belgium, Spain, Sweden and in the UK). The Use Cases are seen as working document, which may be subject to updates and revisions throughout the project, following and keeping up with the progress noticed in ÆGIS project and the overall open source accessibility community.

In addition, it will also have its interfaces assessed by using the assessment tools provided by the ACCESSIBLE project that focuses on ensuring web, desktop and mobile interfaces are fully accessible from the very beginning, without any adjusting afterwards.
A SMART MOBILE APPS FOR BLIND USER

Mobile application development is a term used to denote the act or process by which application software is developed for handheld devices, such as personal digital assistants, enterprise digital assistants or mobile phones.
These applications can be pre-installed on phones during manufacturing platforms, or delivered as web applications using server-side or client-side processing (e.g. JavaScript) to provide an "application-like" experience within a Web browser.

Abstract
Social communication is one of the most important pillars that our society based on. It is well-known that the language is the
only way to communicate and interact with each other verbally or non-verbal way. People with special needs are members of
this society and have the right to enjoy the communication with the external environment in an easy and professional manner.
This paper aims to provide an interesting application that guarantees ultimate communication with the disabled users and vice
versa. The key feature of this application is employing the Arabic language as a medium of communication to learn all the sign
language terms.
The power of this application appears in two aspects: first of all, the ability of normal people to communicate with the targeted
people without having any previous knowledge on signs language. This can be either achieved by voice recognition of words
or by typing the words in the Arabic language. The application is then displays the appropriate image(s) in the sign language.
Secondly, and more importantly, people with special needs communicate with normal people by choosing the signs images on
their phones from the numerous categories stored in the databases which express their ideas and thoughts. Consequently, the
set of images is transformed into a text paragraph. We evaluated our application by testing it on real deaf and dumb users. We
carefully created scenarios on realistic situations. The early results are promising as all deaf found the proposed technology
useful and 90% of them wanted to use it on daily basis.

Android and iOS Hybrid Applications for Surabaya Public Transportation Route
This study is conducted to address the lack of route information of public transportation in Surabaya by creating an online guide that can be accessed by passengers to get complete information on maps and travel routes for public transportation. This guide is made interactive, simple, accessible and appropriate for transport adapted to the conditions in the city of Surabaya. This research will develop an Android and iOS applications that can be used on smartphones and tablets using Android and iOS operating systems. Maps and routes are obtained from the Department of Transportation of Surabaya. A survey was done by distributing questionnaires to determine the passengers’ need for public transportation. Maps and route are developed using OpenStreetMap, Ajax, Javascript, XML, OpenLayer, PostgreSQL, and PostGIS. The hybrid application is compiled using PhoneGap. Passengers simply point to the destination of their journey, such as the name of the street or landmarks and public places. The system will automatically choose the alternative lyn of bemo they should choose, including the routes to reach the destination. The information includes the connecting line of a public minibus (called bemo in Indonesian) if the route needs to be connected by more than one bemo line. The information also includes the fare to be paid. From the test results, both the Android and iOS applications can adapt to a wide range of smartphones with a variety of screen sizes, from 3.5 inch to 5 inch smartphones and 7 inch tablets
Android and iOS Hybrid Applications for Surabaya Public Transportation Route

Application for Iraqi sign language translation on Android system
Deaf people suffer from difficulty in social communication, especially those who have been denied the blessing of hearing before the acquisition of spoken language and before learning to read and write. For the purpose of employing mobile devices for the benefit of these people, their teachers and everyone who has contact with them, this research aims to design an application for social communication and learning by translating Iraqi sign language into text in Arabic and vice versa. Iraqi sign language has been chosen because of a lack of applications for this field. The current research, to the best of our knowledge, is the first of its kind in Iraq. The application is open source; words that are not found in the application database can be processed by translating them into letters alphabetically. The importance of the application lies in the fact that it is a means of communication and e-learning through Iraqi sign language, reading and writing in Arabic. Similarly, it is regarded as a means of social communication between deaf people and those with normal hearing. This application is designed by using JAVA language and it was tested on several deaf students at Al-Amal Institute for Special Needs Care in Mosul, Iraq. It was well comprehended and accepted.

The introduction of DLAU and the CCB & CCX licensing model caused quite a stir in the HCL community. As a Notes and Domino customer, you may have faced challenges with unexpected user counts and license costs. You probably have questions on how this new licensing approach works and how to benefit from it. Most importantly, you likely have budget constraints and want to save money where possible. Don’t worry, we can help with all of this!
We’ll show you how to fix common misconfigurations that cause higher-than-expected user counts, and how to identify accounts which you can deactivate to save money. There are also frequent patterns that can cause unnecessary cost, like using a person document instead of a mail-in for shared mailboxes. We’ll provide examples and solutions for those as well.
