1. All means of Egress should be located and arranged that they provide continuous and
obstructed means of escape to the exterior of the building leading to a street or to the
other designated area. Arrangement of all egress should also maintain these following
rules.
Exits shall be located and exit access shall be arranged so that exits are readily
accessibles at all times.
Where exits are not immediately accessible from an open floor area, continuous
passageways, aisles, or corridors leading diretly to every exit shall be maintained &
shall be arranged to provide access for each occupant to not less than two exits by
seperate ways of travel.

2. Exit access corridors shall provide access to not less than two approved exits without
passing through any intervening rooms other than corridors, lobbies and other spaces
permitted to be open to the corridor.
Where more than one exit is required from a building or portion thereof,such exits shall
be remotely located from each other and shall be arranged to minimize the possibility
that more than one has the potential to be blocked by any one in an emergency
condition.

3. Where two exits or exit access
doors are required, they shall be
placed at a distance from one
another not less than one half
the length of the maximum
overall diagonal dimension of
the building or the area to be
served, measured in straight line
between the nearest edge of the

4. Where more than two exits or exit access are required, at leat two of
the required exits or exit access doors shall be arranged to comply with
the minimum seperation distance requirement. The other exits or exit
access doorsshall be located so that if one becomes blocked, the
others shall be available.
Exit access from rooms or spaces shall be permitted be through
adjoining or intervening rooms or areas, provides that such
adjoining rooms are accessory to the area served.
Lobies, corridors shall not be constructed as intervening rooms.

Exit access shall be permitted to be by means of exterior balcony, porch, gallery, or roof
The long side of of the above similar space shall be at least 50% open and shall be arranged to
restrict the accumulation of smoke.
The main entrance to an assembly building shall also serve as the main exit capable of
providing escape for at least one half of the total occupant load.
No portion of exit route shall pass through a room that may subject to locking or be intervened
by a door that may be locked when the building iss occupied.
