Father's Day is often not celebrated with equal recognition to Mother's Day. This is because people are generally more sentimental about mothers than fathers. Mothers are seen as struggling silently to support their children every day of the year, while it is harder to observe the challenges fathers face balancing work and family responsibilities. Middle class fathers in particular find it difficult managing household expenses, children's education, medical costs, savings, and supporting elderly parents on a limited income. Over time, they suffer much stress that can lead to health issues. For these reasons, many fathers understandably feel jealous that Mother's Day receives more attention than Father's Day.

1. Mother’s Day Vs Father’s Day
In Hindu culture practically we have no opportunity to show respect
to our living parents. Only after their death we perform their annual
ceremony. If we are bit modern we can celebrate (mother’s or father’s
annual day will be observed, NOT celebrated in Hindu culture) Mother’s or
Father’s day bringing gifts to them. It is rather a happy day.
Any male parent feels bit jealous about Mother’s day because father’s
day is not celebrated with equal pomp and show. The reason is very simple.
Any person is more sentimental about mother than father. There is un-
imaginable gender difference. Any person since childhood knew and keenly
observed how his mother struggled in life to support her children working all
365 days without a holiday. She absorbed all shocks from father, silently
lamenting in lonely times. But there is absolutely no chance for any child to
see how a FATHER struggled in bringing up his children. Mother has only
one husband. But father has more husbands in his office or business. He
should get adjusted to every changing officer in different places or in the
same office. Though father has weekly and general holidays to his work,
managing office and home simultaneously is a big challenge. He either fails
in office or in his home. Succeeding in both places is a rare occurrence.
Between these two he has to manage MONEY which is again a big
challenge. If he is from a middle class family (for high class families money
is not a problem. For BPL family, manageable money is not in huge
quantity, to scratch one’s head – how to manage).
Middle class father is always a target and has to face challenges in
managing money. In his limited income, he has to run his monthly expenses,
educate his children, look after medical expenses, make small savings,
support his old parents, buy house and household articles for his family and
gold for hid daughter. An average middle class father tires in less than 25
years because of stress in home and office and in no time he becomes victim
of un-invited guests (ie Diabetics and / or high BP)
For all these sufferings practically there is no sympathy from any
corner of society. That is why any male parent un-doubtedly feels jealous,
about Mother’s day.
