Why people go spiritual?
People generally go spiritual at or after 35 years of age. because at
that age many of their requirements are or being satisfied., a good
placement after their education, marriage, material benefits, ( one or
more of a car house, electric and electronic gadgets) children, etc. It
is very importanat that poor man does not go spiritual, or a person
whose requirements are not satisfied. When important requirements
are being satisfied, a type of 'vacuum' fills in the mind. Spirituality is
the most socially accepted 'pastime' of the 'satisfied' class. On the
otherhand un-satisfied class go to bars, play cards, take wine, and
even become womanisers - but that is not our subject now.
Spirituality may start as a just time pass, in the weekends
discourses, or a just stress bursting yoga or meditation* etc. Those
who go deeper into it, go in higher planes, derive higher benefits* of
yoga or meditation or whatever. those with big profiles, like higher
education, big designation, big paypack, etc majority of them tend to
develop a type of natural 'EGO'. Those who want to 'consciously'
control or manage their ego, need to learn yoga or meditation and like
to become spiritual.
I am sorry, I do not have an universally accepted definition for
the word 'sprituality'. I am using that word in the colloquial form only.
(some of the symtoms of the person going spiritual are :- 1) making
pujas, 2) practicing meditation, 3) giving donations, 4)going to
temples or holy places, 5) reading scriptures, 6) observing silence or
fasting, 7) attending dis-courses or listening / viewing dis-courses,
etc)
Today's skilled people are making this globe, a small village,
and making villages into metros, even linking 'sea-links'. So a man's
ego is bound to increase, and he is even aware that, he is not able to
control his mind, though he is capable of managing his money, men at
work, health, family, emotions to some extent.
Those who are spiritual from the beginning (chilhood), either
tend to become more spiritual as in many cases or become rebellious
in their minds, mentally moving away from the above mentioned
practices, mainly for the LACK of the proper rationale or logic for the
above practices. Because, in any cult, questioning is a big
TABOO.The smallest doubts in childhood remain as doubts for ever.
Though I am not the qualified man to suggest, I leave a
message through this small article, that you try spirituality not at the
surface level, go deep into it, without sacrificing your work, family, and
small pleasures. Explore its depth, go into higher planes, enjoy the
kick, and finally attain spiritual orgasm. --''Hari Om''.
