Lync server overview (Inroduction) US EnglishFabrizio Volpe
This is the Live Meeting presentation / speech I had with Atlanta Active Directory Users Group on 09/11/12.
The idea was to give an introduction to Lync and to add in the arguments some functions that are present only in Lync 2013 Preview. This is not a deep dive but almost everyting you're able to do with Lync server has been presented and explained.
The topics were :
Avaya and Skype Connect PacketBase is an Avaya BusinessPartnerPacketBase, Inc.
On September 29, 2010, Avaya and Skype announced a strategic agreement to deliver innovative, real-time communications and collaboration solutions to businesses of all sizes. The multi-phase deal includes both go-to-market and an industry-first, joint technology integration that seeks to enable businesses to lower costs and expand how employees, customers, partners and suppliers communicate and collaborate with greater convenience and efficiency.

Configuring a highly available Microsoft Lync Server 2013 environment on Dell...Principled Technologies
As this guide has shown, setting up a highly available Microsoft Lync Server 2013 environment on Dell architecture is a straightforward process. In little time, you can deploy two Dell PowerEdge M620 M-series servers, switches, and Dell EqualLogic storage using Microsoft Windows Server 2012, and set up your Lync Server 2013 infrastructure. By setting up a highly available Lync Server 2013 environment on your Dell architecture solution, you can ensure your office communications stay running with little to no downtime to keep your business moving.
This presentation was given to the Vancouver City Planning Commission in March 2008, and discusses how buildings must adapt over time for different uses, and how this is a cornerstone of sustainability.
It is a final project we had to present to the SLITHM with regarding to final year of our Degree.this is a kind of innovative idea which we have brought forward to Sri Lanka.
Your Challenge:
- With the complexity of mobility increasing in most organizations, enterprise mobility management (EMM) is becoming necessary to manage devices, as well as all aspects of mobility.
- While EMM might seem simple from the outside, it has many moving parts. It covers devices, applications, data, security, policies, financial management, and help desk management.
- Without a detailed implementation plan to mitigate issues such as missing components, an unprepared IT department and help desk, and low end-user adoption, IT will find it difficult to ensure a successful launch.
Our Advice:
Critical Insight
- Mobility within organizations continues to grow more complex, and requirements for managing mobility now extend far beyond the device itself.
- As BYOD continues to grow and new products are released into the market, EMM will become a necessary tool for long-term sustainability and effective use of mobility.
- Without a proper implementation plan in place, organizations will find it difficult to achieve a suitable, unified solution for short and long-term sustainability of mobile management.
Impact and Result
- Prepare the organization for mobility by developing an implementation plan that covers EMM from start to finish, including selecting a vendor, managing help desk changes, engaging users, and developing an actionable timeline.
- Create a tailored solution for the unique needs of your organization.

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.
