In the fall of 2013 a set of ambitious school and district leaders from Dallas Independent School District set out to redesign schools to better meet the needs of each student. This seminar will take participants through the district’s establishment of vision and standards for personalized learning, implementation of Personalized Learning School Quality Reviews, and the evolution of its supports for schools looking to effectively adopt and implement personalized learning through the use of a readiness continuum.
The session will provide an overview of:
• The vision for personalized learning set forth by Dallas ISD
• Initial Dallas ISD accountability standards and framework for schools
• Findings and lessons learned from initial personalized learning reviews (2016 – 2017)
The session was presented by a representative from Dallas ISD in conjunction with a representative from SchoolWorks, the education consulting firm that partnered with Dallas ISD to create accountability tools and conduct personalized learning reviews throughout the district.

A training center opened at the Lyuben Karavelov District Library in Ruse, Bulgaria with support from the Global Libraries - Bulgaria Program. The center conducted five training events for unemployed people aged 40-60 to teach computer and internet skills as well as motivational behaviors to enhance their job seeking abilities. Feedback surveys found that 98% of trainees felt the training would help them use computers and the internet, 100% felt the trainers were well prepared and taught comprehensibly, and 96% were generally satisfied with the training. The training center was staffed by a team of trainers and aimed to give participants skills and confidence to seek new employment opportunities.Durango revised

Telford & Wrekin Council implemented a new workforce strategy and learning management system (LMS) to equip employees with new skills. They reviewed the LMS to ensure it supported learners and the organization. Changes were made to increase user engagement by improving navigation and cleaning up the site. Courses were organized into categories and a mandatory learning program was set up. Data was cleaned to improve reporting. The results showed a 17% increase in face-to-face course completions and a 45% increase in eLearning completions from the previous year.

environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover

The plan is yearly snapshot that includs goals and action steps on everything from communications to events.This is mostly about your vision and expectations for your term. What do you want to accomplish & what’s your timeline?
- We ask you to map our your goals for your term in order to encourage conversations about what you want to accomplish – and understand what each of your new board members expects. The more detail in your plan, the more likely you are to accomplish!Remember that life gets in the way, so it’s helpful to have a plan and goals established for what you hope to accomplish over your term. I suggest that you be very realistic with your expectations and agree to hold each other accountable. This is an exercise in communication, planning, and mutual expectations. Remember to include your fellow board members – including Head Class Agents in these conversations.
- Everything: dream big. Include everything from the Treasurer’s annual reporting to your idea that you’ll find 5 “lost” alumnae every year. Maybe you want to host mini reunions in 10 cities to gear up for reunion. How about birthday cards? Map out a plan that will take your class from your current post-reunion after glow to gearing up for your next reunion.
- Engagement is important for the Alumnae Association, the College, and Advancement. This is about connecting alums to each other and the College, whether around class activity, club activity, campus events, or classmate milestones. Engagement takes many forms, but it boils down to anything that connects an alumnae to the College. The more your class board communicates, the less alumnae feel like all MHC does is ask for $$. (Which makes your Head Class Agent’s job much easier!)

Know a classmate who is addicted to Facebook? Get her to commit to a post a week to your class page. Have a classmate who travels for work? Help her set up mini-reunions/coffees with classmates when she’s on the road. Be creative and use your classmates – they want to help.
